Bed and Breakfast La Terrazza Medioevale - Viterbo

Friendly reception and very helpful (even offering us lifts to train or bus station etc). Lovely big room with thoughtful touches, including a small fridge, which was handy for the Prosecco we could drink on the sunny terrace in the early evening. Our beds were only 2 foot 6 inches wide (we asked for twin beds instead of photo'd double) and were very soft, which was difficult for both of our backs. Noise from bar opposite went on till it closed just before 4am but with windows closed it was OK. We were there early May so didn't need the air con and presumably that would offset the closed windows at hotter times of year. Everything else was great though and those relatively small things were easily offset by the rest of our experience. B&B is a great location (easy & fairly level walk from Porta Romana train station) and a fantastic town to visit with lots of interest to see including museums. We walked to Terme Papei and Villa Lente in Bagnaia and can recommend as easy and interesting walks, albeit along main roads. Viterbo has far more places to eat than stated in relatively recent guidebooks so plenty of choice.

Heavy noise from a garbage collecting vehicle early in the morning and worn out mattresses is the reason why this B&B dont't get top rating from us.
