A little awkward to find the entrance which was not marked. Apart from this we had an excellent stay and would recommend this place to any of our friends. Friendly, good value for money, truly an excellent breakfast.

We stayed at La Camaldola for three nights. It is located outside of Verona. Getting there by bus or taxi is quit easy, probably best by taxi the first time. Excellent breakfast is provided. Nice garden.

A gem of a place, the owners are absolutely lovely and even allowed us to check in whilst they were hosting a gathering for friends (someone's birthday). Room is massive, very well furnished and all amenities (wifi with good signal, sky TV, aircon, fridge, microwave, toaster, nespresso machine, kettle). Ensuite bathroom is great. Decor of the rooms overall is done to good taste in earthly colours, which really compliments the room and natural wooden beaming on the ceiling. The breakfast was ENORMOUS and DELICIOUS. Eggs (scrambled omlette-style), cold cuts (Speck I believe), cheese (three kinds), butter jam and yoghurts, about 6 different types of bread rolls and also about 5 different types of cakes. Is this normal?? I have no idea who could manage to ever finish such a big breakfast (but we did of course try our best!) Just up the road is a palce to eat called the Antica Taverna or something like that where we went for lunch, La Camaldola owners will provide the details... outstanding pasta and meats, fantastic wine selection (the valpollicella and the house red were both excellent) and quite a bit cheaper/better than the restaurant we went to in central Verona for dinner that evening. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The room was excellent. The service was very helpful and the breakfasts were fabulous! In all respects our 3 day stay was a wonderful experience and we will definitely stay here again on our next return to Verona. The only negative was that La Camoldola does not accept credit cards and it would have been helpful to have been advised of that upon arrival as the closest ATM that processes international cards is 3 or 4 kilometers away. Other than this minor inconvienence everything about our stay was wonderful

"La Camaldola" is a really nice place. We`ve been there by motorbike. The connection to Verona is easy and short. The rooms are tasteful, breakfast is formidable and Elisabetta, the host, is absolutely accomodating. We`ll visit "La Camaldola" again.

This is the best place we have stayed in for B and B. The room and courtyard were pretty, peaceful and very pleasant. We found fruit, wine, biscuits, juice, milk and plenty of tea and coffee - and even an expresso machine and microwave. Breakfast was amazing, a highlight of the holiday. The bus into Verona is every 30 minutes and the journey is short. In the village, we found two excellent restaurants, cheaper and of better quality than the ones in the centre of town. Unforgettable.

11 out of 10!This was the best place we stayed in Italy and they really go the extra mile to make your stay special. Stayed one night. The room was more like an apartment and came with espresso machine, kettle, microwave and fridge! Very spacious and light with air con and good sized bathroom. Nice seating area outside. We were welcomed by the owners daughter who was very friendly and helpful and we ended up sitting next to her on the train to Bologna the next day. Breakfast was amazing. There was fresh fruit and cereal and there was a basket delivered with croissants, bread, pastries, cakes and the most delicious omlettes! Avesa is a short bus ride from centre of Verona and is very peaceful and tranquil. The B&B is 5 minute walk from bus stop and very easy to find. Excellent value for money, hope to return some day.

We visited Verona for the first time to attend the Opera at the Arena. Stayed at the La Camaldola for five nights. Found the Elizabeta, and her family very helpful. The room was great, breakfast was plentiful, we were given wine and fruit from the garden. We would stay there again on our next trip

This bed and breakfast is just AMAZING! The location is gorgeous (in a small village in the moutains near the centrum by bus --> between 10 & 15 minuts only). The owner is a woman and she is so kind. The breakfast is so good and you can eat outside :) The room are very very big and well decorated. Just the best place ever to have a good time!

We loved the fact that the hotel was just a little outside of Venera. If you're not afraid of a good walk, you can easily walk to Venera from the B&B (which we did all the time). Avesa is a little charming village. The The house was beautiful, the room clean and cozy, the breakfast great (you can choose from "sweet" or "salty") and more than enough. The owners are VERY friendly!!! In short - it was an awesome stay!

Complimenti per la semplice e spontanea raffinatezza dell'accoglienza e della prima colazione, curate nei minimi particolari. Ottimi anche i consigli in merito a ristoranti e pizzerie. Una vacanza che ricorderemo sempre con piacere.

Nice place to stay. Close to Verona with bus connection to the Arena and the railway station. Lovely breakfast and very welcoming host. Also very nice that we could park the car inside the garden. We got tickets for the Aida opera in the Arena. A wonderful experience even for us opera novices. As the opera finished an hour after midnight, we were pleased that it was that easy to get a taxi back to Avesa (at a cost of less than 12 euro)!

Alles in allem absolut empfehlenswert

it's good to know that the bus #23 goes directly from the terminal bus station to the B and B in Avessa.. cost is only 1.20 euro. a cab will take approx 15 to 20 euros.from the bus stop it's very easy to find the B and B. Breakfast are amazing and the hostess is great.I would definitely recommend it..there is tiny beautiful church at the end of the street ( more like a chapelle) and this district is very friendly. we had a great cappuccino at " chez leon"//

Stayed here for 3 nights in July 10. Lovely experience. Loved the peaceful, easy breakfasts at our little table in our room. Genius idea to have a nespresso coffee machine in the room so nice coffee always easily available and microwave if you wanted hot milk for cappuccinos. And stocked fridge of juice, yoghurt, milk, water, cheese, cereal, fresh fruit always replenished. And then the basket of fresh baked breakfast stuff was lovely. Note that, in the heat, this is left in the shade of their big porch rather than outside the room. Like other posts have said small things like fact we used a sachet of honey at our first breakfast (we like on fruit & yoghurt) meant that when we came back from being out, there was a whole big pot of delicious local honey waiting for us. Avesa is a short easy bus ride away so don't worry that you will be too far out.

We had two wonderful one-night stays, first on our outward trip and then on our homeward journey. The family were very welcoming and the room was beautifully presented, spacious, and cool for our family of four. The private off-road parking gave us peace of mind and the breakfast was fantastic, with fresh Italian coffee, croissants, yoghurts, orange juice, and home made cakes. We hope to stay again and highly recommend La Camaldola and especially Verona.

We have staid in La Camaldola for three days in the spring. Signora Elisabetta is a wonderful hostess, the rooms are lovely, big enough for a family of four. Every morning we could enjoy a rich breakfast in our own room, there were coffee- and tea-facilities, a fridge, everything we needed and more. We liked the big garden (although we couldn't enjoy it because of the bad wheather) and found it very practical to leave the car and take a bus directly to the center of Verona. Nearby is a good pizzeria and a VERY good trattoria (ask signora Elisabetta). We will certainly come back!
