The room we stayed was simply fabulous, the one we originally booked was broken, so the owner gave us another one, and I can't stress how gorgeous, big, quiet, warm it was, bathroom included. The breakfast was in a big kitchen with all kind of food to satisfy everyone's needs(special mention for the delicious pastries that the owner told us about, they were really fresh and bought the same morning in the nearby pastry shop)! Suggested to everyone, if I were to go back to Verona, I'd go back to the same place.

Arrived in agreed time and have to wait at the front door for 25 minutes. Rining door bell and calling both phone numbers 10 times. Nobody answering. We were tired and decided to go away to find other place to stay. Tryed last phone call and it was sucsessful.

STAY HERE!!! If you want comfort, location, atmosphere, and price, this is the B and B for you. Our host was friendly, the room was immaculate, our bath was lovely. My girls and I were thrilled! Steps from the arch to the old city. Don't miss a walk to the top of the arena! We loved Verona - a lucky choice of town and B and B.

The location is excellent. It is very close to the city centre and the view is amazing. I would definitely come back here again if I ever return to Verona. There is an elevator so you do not have to walk all the way upstairs. One remark is that the two owners do not speak very good English, but the person who receives you does, so we did not have any trouble with that.

I chose this B&B because it was close to the historical center and the train station. There is no reception so we had to call the number on the door for someone to let us in. When the man arrived, he understood we had requested a room for 3. Thankfully I had my reservation showing a quad room had been reserved. We were then taken to another building a few doors down and shown to our suite, where he made up an extra cot for us. Where we stayed was actually called "Al Teatro B&B"... It looked like the family owned a few apartments, and they rent out the rooms. The room was very clean, not much space for luggage once the extra cot was in there. We had to share a bathroom with at least two other rooms which was not ideal, no hooks to hang wet towels in the room and you could obviously not leave them in the shared bathroom. The suite shared a wall with the bathroom which was noisy especially at night when other visitors came in late. The location was very close to the Roman arena (about 2 blocks) and many touristy restaurants. We desparately needed to do laundry, no front desk staff to help, finally found one on our own thanks to the barrista at the Filarmonico restaurant on the corner. (self service laundromat on via Septembre, 1st stop after bridge). Via Mutilati is not the greatest street, some rough/ impaired charactes hanging around. Grocery store a few doors down. Breakfast was self service in a kitchen down the hall and included, mostly packaged pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, milk/ juice. The coffee machines in the kitchen make the worst coffee we had on our whole trip. For future travelers to Verona: city is very clean; we found a great restaurant called Terrazza Bar "Al Ponte" over looking the river and Ponte Pietra bridge.

Great place to stay, spacious and quiet room. Although the room was supposed to have a shared bathroom we had one on our own. Breakfast was great with cornetto and cappuccino, unusual for Italy. The location was perfect, quiet but just next to the Arena. It took us a while to reach someone to open the door as there is no reception. Use the phone number on the entrance. A Taxi from the Airport is a good choice for 20€ or you take the Airport Bus for 5€ and get off at the Arena, not the main station.

The owner was very kind and friendly. He accomodated us in his second B&B - Al Teatro. It´s a flat with 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms and kitchen - used only for self-service breakfast (which was also good). We had wonderful and spacious 3beds-room with a balcony. I can recommend to all people who wants to visit Verona and sleep in a nice place near city center!I would like to come back one day...

It took us a long time to find this place - the instructions were not clear. ( Take the main road Corsa Porta Nuevo to the town. Turn left just before the big arch - note the cafe Filarmonico on the corner. Go past the supermarket on the left, past the cafe, then see the big green doors. The only identification is the bellpush saying Filarmonico.) Having found it we rang the bell which was answered quickly, but we had to wait a few minutes before the lady (Vittoria)came down. She then took us down the road to another door which was actually listed as Pension ??????. This was a flat (appartment) with 4 bedrooms, one bathroom and a kitchen for a self service breakfast. Vittoria was friendly but spoke next to no english (and we have next to no italian) so conversation was limited! The room was lovely - big enough, comfortable bed and a settee to sit on. Some noise for a while just after midnight from the back of the concert hall as they packed up after a concert. We would happily come back here, but note that our experience does not match the actual Filarmonico description.

It was a very confortable room, with neat furniture and a couch where I could relax reading. You have your own air conditioning and TV and the breakfast is excellent (well, except for a terrible machine coffee...in Italy I expect real espresso for breakfast!). The location is just perfect, Arena at 3 minutes walk if you go slow. I would really recommend this place

All the rooms are on the street. Even it should be quiet, there was public works from the earlier morning, so the quiet i've expected wasn't here. The owner doesn't speak english (just a few words), so you have to speak a little bit italian ! The staff is nice and ready to help you, are involved by your comfort. The location is so good : about a few meters from the arena, 5 minutes by feet, and 15 minutes by feet from the rail station.

The door was locked when I arrived, and the 2 phone numbers written on the doorway were unconnected. Without help of passing-by resident of the same building, it could taken me longer to get in the room. The first thing the owner did when she showed up was to blame me not to tell beforehand the exact time of arriving by returning the e-mail which she insists she sent, which I did not receive. For the payment, she said the credit card reading machine was broken(which turned out to be a lie) to get cash, then she tried to charge me 2euros more. All the hustles. Good things; excellent location, spacious and clean room, good coffee.

We were warmly welcomed by a very pleasant Mrs Vittoria, the place is very clean and nice. the location is excellent being just 50 meters from the central Piazza Bra where does Arena lay. There are 2 different parent B&B's - one in front of each other and if you need a toilet fitted room there s 10 euro extra. It has been a beatiful stay there!!!

Fantastic b&b close to everything in beautiful Verona. Shared bathrooms and room were spotlessly clean, ample breakfast at a large dining table gave the stay an atmosphere of being a guest in someone's house. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

We only stayed for one night due to our travel itinerary. The place was clean and is a couple blocks away from the opera arena (the reason for our trip to Verona). It was really easy to find and is within walking distance from the train station. The bathrooms are shared, but that wasn't a big deal; it's just something you need to consider in booking it. We would stay here again if we ever made the trek back to Verona.

The vicinity of the Arena and Center is the only advantage. We were not informed that there was no bathroom in our room and having to share the facilities with other guests is inconvenient and unacceptable (for the price of the B & B). Breakfast was just adequate (no fresh bread was served) in nice surrounding.

A very nice place with friendly people in the centre of Verona, clean and quiet, with a nice breakfast. The entrance is in an appartment building, between offices and a supermarket. It seems a bit unfriendly at night, but still OK and near the busy streets. I would visit them again!

Filarmonico was a fabulous place to stay. The location couldn't be better for a visit to Verona, it's right in the centre of town. I would definately recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Verona & I think the service & facilities were better than some hotels I've stayed in. Sharing bathrooms was never a problem, and they were the cleanest I've found in a long time. They gave a 2 hour time window for breakfast & you certainly needed it for the options that you got. Excellant.

We booked a double room, but were given a twin (with one very squeaky bed), and it wasn't mentioned on the website that it wasn't ensuite. We waited half an hour for the owner to turn up and she didn't answer the phone number we were given. Other guests had the same problem (there were three couples waiting by the time the owner showed up, and a couple we spoke to waited an hour and a half the day before). The breakfast was OK, but is kept out all morning rather than being in the fridge, so health and safety might be an issue. That said, the rooms themselves were nicely arranged and had air conditioning (very important in the summer). The location was superb, only a couple of minutes walk from the Arena, and the other rooms that we saw were doubles. So the stay will probably be a good one overall once the owner turns up.

Minuses: None of personal speaks english. The hosts are hostile and not nice against the guests. Poore forniture: I had neither a table in my room nor wardrobe. The hostess had acess to my room without asking me because she had to go through my room to come to laundry and my room stood open without my knowledge to. Pluses: Relatively good breakfast with scarce coffee supply. Ecxellent location in the very center of Verona. Free Wi-Fi.

This was a perfect location for our weekend in Verona with easy access to all the places we wanted to visit. The street was a little dark and unfriendly late at night when there was not an event on nearby. Don't let the shared bathrooms put you off. There was always an empty bathroom when needed and other guests left them clean and neat. All other guests were quiet but helpful when we needed assistance. The owner did anything she couldto help when called.

This B&b is really PERFECT! Room was clean and furnitures so cute! There's also a private bathroom with phon and toilets product. All is so comfortable! The position of the b&b is perfect, too. It's in the middle of Verona, but in some way there's no noise all around, because it is situated in small road, repaired from traffic. In the same place there is a supermarket for all your needs, and at about 100 m you can find the Arena and many restaurants. Price is lower than quality, wich is very high, from the kindness of the owners to the breafast served in the morning. I'll definitely return here!

The accommodation and location of Filarmonico more than met our expectations. We did have some difficulty finding the accommodation as we drove into Verona and, as in many cities, had to negotiate our way around one-way streets, and then had to ask directions from local businesses. We were fortunate that we arrived on the front step of the building at the same time as the owner's son, who was able to let us in and show us to our accommodation. It would be worth confirming arrival times with proprietor so that someone is there to meet you on arrival. We travelled as a group of 3 adults and a 14yo, and the shared room was fine, along with the access to 3 bathrooms - all of which were spotlessly clean. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the opera at The Arena, but will re-visit Verona in the future for a longer stay and to see more of this beautiful city. Will happily re-book Filarmonico on our next trip.

This B&B is in an excellent location, only a few minutes walk from the Arena. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms (3 bathrooms for 4 bedrooms)were spotless. There was a good continental style breakfast and the owner, Vittoria, even made a cake especially for us on both days, despite the torrid heat! I'd recommend this place with no problem as long as you're prepared to gesticulate as she doesn't speak English.

We (family of 5) stayed 3 nights at the Filarmonico in Jul '09 which was fantastically located for the Arena and a day trip to Venice. The accommodation was spotless and suited us prefectly. Breakfast offered variety and of good quality with fresh fruit, fresh bread and pastries etc. Vittoria works hard to ensure the accommodation and your stay are pleasant. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Verona whether for the Opera or any other reason. On the last day there was a problem in Verona with the banking and credit card authoristion systems; - this was not a problem for Vittoria and we sorted out on my return. Thoroughly recommend.

The hotel is very good. The price quality ratio is a winner. But the staff only speaks italian. When we arrived, the hotel was closed, and I had to call to have the person come (she came very quickly). However, I spoke in English and discovered that she did not understand one word I said. Le B&B Filarmonico est un excellent point de chute pour ceux et celles qui voudront visiter Vérone et ses alentours. Situé à 2 pas de la Citadelle, il vous accueil dans une ambiance très italienne et joliment décorée! Originally was going to stay for two days and ended up staying 5. The location of the hotel which is within 300 metres of the Arena etc is excellent. The actual touches in the B and B are delightful such as pictures, shelves of books in the hallway and breakfast room, flowers, perfumed oil sticks etc. The whole place is immaculate. The breakfast supplied each morning was excellent and included ,ham, cheese and other smallgoods, toast, croissants, cereal, fruit juice ,coffee etc. Finally the lady who runs (owns?) the B and B was very obliging and helpful without being intrusive. She was also a lovely person and a pleasure to know. My partner felt that the B and B was great value and would highly recommend it to all travellers.
