Bed and Breakfast Villa Gabriella - Venice Lido, Venice
Via Istria, 12 - Venice
877-662-6988Ideal for lovers of art and culture! Inspired by Palladio's Renaissance Villa of Rotondo and in a breathtaking location, the Villa Gabriella presents a fine opportunity to enjoy affordable Bed & Breakfast accommodation in Venice.
Located on the glittering Adriatic Sea in a Blue Flag area, and yet just 20 minutes' stroll from Saint Mark's Square, this elegant Lido Island B&B offers you the very best of both worlds. The Gabriella Villa makes a fabulous choice for enthusiasts of the history of Venice, along with those who prefer the relaxing and playful spirit of the sea.
You are naturally in the right place for exploring the enchanting lagoon islands. Murano is of course famous for its exquisite glass-making and Burano for its brightly painted houses and delicate lace craftwork, and both are well worth a visit!
A perfect romantic break!Whisk your lover away for an intimate weekend away or Valentine's surprise! Venice itself needs no introduction, and apart from the breathtaking beauty of the Doge's Palace and the magical canals, there are plenty of events and festivals to entertain you - not least the world renowned Carnival in February.
As you are gliding along the waters beneath the Bridge of Sighs and looking forward to a mouthwatering pasta lunch, congratulate yourself on having found a value-for-money Venice lodging within easy reach of the sights of this Italian city.
Ideal for work or relaxation! The Lido Venice Bed & Breakfast Villa Gabriella has been recently renovated, and boasts charming characteristics dating back to the early 1900s.
Don't hesitate to ask the helpful staff about local attractions as well as the private facilities belonging to the Bed and Breakfast. Take advantage of a shuttle service for ease and peace of mind, and if you are looking for somewhere to hold your business meeting, then you will find superior amenities at your disposal, including complimentary wireless Internet access.
Relaxation is easy thanks to the private beach and laid-back ambience, which makes it a superb alternative to the more cramped or crowded Venice hotels. Magnificent panoramic views can be enjoyed from the seafront terrace, extending to the Doge's Palace and the ocean beyond.
Lovely property - spacious comfortable accomodations - usual italian breakfast - rolls, yogurt, cereal, juice - instant coffee, since we were in apartment with kitch...

We stayed at the apartments rather than the Villa Gabriella. This is something you might not know until you get there. Be careful not to ring the wrong button. The correct one is the owner's last name plus "Villa Gabriella." The units are air conditioned which is a plus, however it took awhile to cool off the first day we were there. The unit where we stayed was ideal for a long-term stay, and it had a nice setting area outside. We were able to get around to the rest of Venice using the water taxis. Be sure to buy one of the passes.

Venice Lido is nice place to stay, when we were tired after several hours in "busy" Venice centre we have a great option to have a rest at the seaside...only swimming and sunshining. Villa Gabriella provided us good service, is in good walking destination from vaporetto station (aprox 12 min), just at the seaside (aprox. 2 min.), Stefano & Alexandra were very kind and helpfull.

We had an excellent stay at Villa Gabriella and highly recommend it. Stefano and his family were very helpful. The area is great to stay in, beach on your door step and nice relaxing surroundings away from the busy waterways of Venice. We stayed in a B & B room, but there are also larger self contained apartments available. We managed fine in our room and were there for three days.

We rented an apartment in a house just next to Villa Gabriella. Better than the photos showed! Really close to the beach. Breakfast was not included, but it didn't matter since we had a fully equipped kitchen in the apartment. Bus stop just outside.

The owner met us at the door and was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was nice, but had no window to look out of, too high. Somewhat stuffy on a humid day, but otherwise great. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the bed was comfortable. The location would be great for an extended stay in Venice, so you could spend time on the beach behind the villa. If I only had one day in Venice next time, I would stay IN Venice, but otherwise would return here to the Villa for an extended stay.

The property and rooms were lovely and a fabulous location across the road from the beach . It was a very nice 5 -10 min walk back to the boat dock to go to Venice. We actually liked the Lido better than Venice because it had nice shady streets lots of beautiful old buildings and homes and nice food markets and stores and restaurants. We recommend that you get a 2 or 3 day ACTV boat pass to ride the boats. To go back to the airport from Lido it is best to take the Alilaguna boat not the ACTV boat. We were a little disappointed with the owner Stephano he was not very friendly, welcoming or accomodating and always rushed. We had booked a room with a view of the ocean and he had confirmed it in writing by email but when we got there he had already given it to someone else and denied that he confirmed it with us even when we showed him the written confirmation email he sent us. But our rooms were very nice and we had a nice private garden. Also we did not have a phone and he refused to call us a taxi for us to go very early in the morning to the airport with our bags and the taxi people at the dock refused to book a taxi without us calling by phone. It was a bit of a hassel. We finally found a taxi driver who would come without us making a phone call. Also the Wifi internet at Villa Gabriella would not work. and it said that there was Wifi internet. which we needed However we would definitely recomend it becasue of location and very very nice accomodation. 2 bedroom 2 bathrooms kitchen, living room and back garden.

Liberty style villa!!You don't believe your eyes. Nice 10 km jogging on the beach to the faro. You feel in fin de siecle atmosfere. A bit nostalgic,Thomas Mann like.Ferry trip to Lido is also very pleasant,a journey in itself. You combine the overwhelming Venice experience with the quiet noble Lido life!

Whilst at the Villa we felt as though we were treated more as friends than clients. We were welcomed with glasses of chilled water, maps and advice of where to eat and go in the short time we would be staying. Our accomodation was in a villa with a garden and full facilities (make sure you know how to use an italian coffee machine before you go)and was a peaceful break to come home to from the hustle of Venice. The restaurants they recommended were top class from an excellent (ProntoPesca) little snack bar in the fish market to local cuisine on Lido (Africa being our favourite). Breakfast was provided at short notice on the first day and supplied us with enough coffee, juice and milk for a full 3 days so no need to trail to the supermarket. We will definately be returning to the Villa Gabriella on our next trip.

We absolutely adored this beautiful, arty villa! We had the magic of Venice combined with the quiet of Lido, the subtle aesthetic charm of the building's early 20th century Italian Liberty style and impeccable 21st century facilities. It was probably the prettiest holiday accommodation we've had so far, and we have done quite a lot of travelling in some of the most beautiful parts of Europe! We'll definitely go back.

This was a great place to stay. The Lido is such a welcome respite from the crowds in Venice. We were surprised to find that our B&B room was actually a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with full kitchen! It was very quiet, comfortable, and being able to bring our own food into the apartment saved us lots of money. It was an excellent decision to stay at Villa Gabriella and I would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind the boat ride and a brief walk to the facility.

Our stay at Villa Gabriella was very relaxing and peaceful. We stayed in a beautiful apartment which has everything, it was like a home away from home. Stefano and Alessandra were very helpful and welcoming. We would definitely stay at Villa Gabriella for our next trip to Venice.

My sister and I stayed here, and we loved it! Having a clean, quiet, beautiful place to relax after sight-seeing in Venice was amazing, and breakfast on the terrace looking out at the ocean, and swimming in it afterwards, was a highlight of our trip. Stephen and Alessandra were very kind and helpful, as well. We also loved the water boat rides, and having the three day pass was perfect for getting around the city as well as to/from Lido. Staying at Villa Gabriella, and the water boats, made this (my second trip to Venice) much lovelier than my first. Thank you!

In future, we will stay here rather than Venice which is a short waterbus ride. Cannot praise it enough. I love cooking and having my own little kitchen to prepare simple meals from delectible ingredients fresh each day is something I miss in the USA. Early October the beaches are deserted but the weather fabulous...swimming in the Adriatic every day. The owners are sweet young family heirs of this Liberty style villa and generously share all it has to offer. A casual, homey elegance thats speaks to our own sensibility.

Better take a full equipped apartement than a single room! The room is narrow, has no window (only in the ceiling), no armchair, no hairdryer, no fridge. Inspite of this, the whole villa is very nice an charming, two minutes walk to the beach and 15 minutes walk to the vaporetto-station.

May 20-23, 2009. This B&B is not in Venice proper but on the Lido (the beach island). Lots of stairs to reach the room. This B&B was a welcome respite from hectic Venice. It is 20 minutes by vaporetto to St. Mark's square and 40 minutes to the bus and train stations. It is highly unusual since it has a Crow's Nest area with tables that can be used at certain times. It gave a 360degree view over the Adriatic beach and the island. Great for wine and cheese in the evening after a hectic day of sightseeing. You can walk to it, about 0.5 Km. Use a taxi to get your bags there. Cool off at the public beach nearby.

Villa Gabriella is not a hotel with hotel-service. We had a 2-room-appartement with very plain furniture (Ikea-like)and we had to prepare italien breakfast with given food ourself (fresh bread arrives only late at 8.30 in the morning). It is nearly impossible to sit on the small balcony and also the "terrace" (nice view arround!)is ordinary only a small corridor arround the tour of the original old villa. The street which you have to cross to arrive the beach is in front of the seaside of the house and often very noisy - and than this beach is private and you have to pay for enter. Otherwise you have to walk 10 minutes, and than you will reach the public beach. Only in the kitchen (with 2 small beds on top of eachother!)is air condition. The room with double bed has no air condition. Pros: The Appartement is bright and you find all things necessary for cooking and washing (but no telephon!). The owner are gentle.

We were pleasantly surprised by the grand house and beautiful, well furnished, spacious and clean rooms. The hosts were well prepared for our visit and helped to make our stay comfortable and homely. For the service and quality of accommodation the B&B Villa Gabriella is especially well priced. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay at ''Liberty'' apartment of Villa Gabriella. The apartment was huge and equipped with all things you need for everyday life: kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher, iron, etc. An air conditioning was pleased at hall and it doesn't work for bedrooms until you will leave doors open. The owners were very polite and friendly. When at airport it turned out that we lost our luggage, Stefano offered his help and the next day the suitcases were waiting in our apartment. We recommend Villa Gabriela for families with children and groups.

Our stay at Villa Gabriella on Lido (second week of June, 2008) was so nice and relaxing. I would compare the extra time on the vaporetto (which was not long) to my metro commute. Riding into the city gave me time to get my head together for the day and the ride out was time for me to unwind and reflect. Once we got our bearings on Lido, we would walk to and from the vap. stop each day - took maybe 10-15 minutes. Our walks gave us ample opportunity to shop for dinner, if we chose to eat in and to take in the locals. There were four of us, we took two apartments and we all agreed that the apartments were very nice and our beds were the most comfortable of the entire 2 1/2 week trip. Our rooms were decorated tastefully with attention given to small things like the towels - they were rolled and tied with beautiful lace ribbons. Stefano and Alassandra took such good care of us each and every day, making suggestions of places to go or even just getting us on the beach late in the day. I will definitely recommend this lovely place on Lido again and again.

Stayed 3 nights in November 2007.Had booked a two bedroom apartment in Villa ,but informed (in good time)that we would be staying nearby Villa Stravinsky. This is a modern development rather than the classical architecture of Gabriella which was being renovated.Very warm welcome from Stefano and Alessandra, with lots of advice about the area and maps of Venice.Great apartment with two balconies within easy walking distance of ferry to Venice central.Breakfast left outside front door each morning according to your taste.Fifteen minute ferry ride to St Marks.Lido itself had a relaxed off-season atmosphere in contrast to Venice on a Bank Holiday!Would recommend our villa highly-attractive 'period' decoration in a modern block in a quiet location near the beach.

Its very nice at the Villa Gabriella. The owners are very nice and friendly and give you any help when needed. The appartments is ideal and ideal for a family with 1-2 children and grandmother. One can cook even spaghetti. The breakfast is broth at the door in the morning. Staying at the Villa Gabriella was one of the highlights of our trip.It had the old world charm of a 100 year old mansion, with all the modern day conveniences we needed. Stefano and Alessandra were the most gracious and helpful hosts we encountered in Europe. From the moment we arrived they were helpful, and friendly, and spoke excellent English. The only less than perfect experience we had was with a recommended local restaurant; the food was not good and the service not friendly. The overall experience was A+ at the Villa!

This spacous accommodation is excellent value, the kitchen is a bonus for making drinks and snacks. The compact roof terrace is great for sitting out in the sun, which rises over the Adriatic and sets over Venice. We had an extended stay due to a delay and paid the same for a small hotel room as we did for the 3 bedroomes/2 bathroomed apartment with a very large lounge. I have already recommended this accommodation to friends

Unfortunately the owners were on holiday when we arrived and no one was there in their absence. I found subsequent dealings with the owners to be difficult and at times rude. The room was of reasonable standard, however the 'sea views' are non existent and the breakfast was ordinary. Overall my experience with Villa Gabriella was disappointing.

Don't expect this to be like a hotel. This B&B is operated by a very friendly family who try to make your stay memorable. The front of the villa is across the street from the beach of the Adriatic ocean. I have to say the island was cleaner and nicer than Venice was. And since water taxis run consistently between Lido and Venice, travel was easy.

Très bonne adresse: rapport qualité/prix excellent. très spacieux, propre, confortable et pratique : plusieurs chambres et salles de bains, cuisine, petit salon. le petit déjeuner est complet et varié. We has a very spacious living set up, mutiple rooms with full kitchen, would be a great place for a long stay. We were a little disappointed with the staff when we sought information on transportation, they could have given us a little more time to share bus schedules and routes. Also breakfast was not ready at time promised makes it hard when you have a train or plane to catch. But breakfast had variety which is unusual in Italy. Also nice to have a bottle of milk and water waiting in the fridge. Off the beaten track in Venice, gives you a quite relaxed experience.

Villa Gabriella is in Lido Island. It takes about 30 minutes from the train station. It was quiet and simply great! Its location was not far from waterbus station at Lido (just 5 minute walk). Stefano was very kind and efficient. I recommend it to everyone. It is a very nice place to enjoy Venezia. We had the greatest time in Venice.
