Bed and Breakfast Villa Berghinz - Venice Lido, Venice

Very nice villa in beautiful place. Rich breakfast. Convenient location. I can recommend.

The access upon arrival is extremely difficult. There was a posted note on the gate to call three phone numbers to get access to the villa. We happened to get in because the woman who tends to the breakfast and the rooms was out on the terrace by chance. This needs to be improved as most visitors are from other countries and may not have a mobile phone in order to ring those numbers. Also, one would need to know the country code, nothing was obvious from the posted note. The breakfast was uninspiring ! Overall, the villa is in a great location, has lots of character and the rooms are spacious.

Good location in quiet residential area, only short walk to vaparetto terminal and shops/restaurants. Good air conditioning in bedrooms.

Breakfast really poor and of low quality. Service staff obtrusive and haughty. They need to enter in our room in order to take bed linen and towels for the whole other rooms. Pets are allowed but leave them in the room could be a problem. In general, owners friendly and hospitable and the villa really nice but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Beautiful building in a very nice neighbourhood, close to restaurants/cafés/bars and vaporetto to venice. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast rather poor, but that's ok regarding very low room prices. Our advice: skip breakfast at berghinz and get a cafe latte + croissant at bar maleti down the street instead. That is what Italians do. In the evening, get a pizza at pizzeria osteria to take away and eat it on the balcony of berghinz. We hope to return soon!

It was wonderful to have a quiet and beautiful place to go back to after all the heat and the crowds in Venice. There is a wonderful atmosphere of 'La Belle Epoque' about The Lido and it is just across the water from San Marco.

I love this villa.lido island has it's unique scene, but far from the venize's main-island. the rate is ok. breakfast is ok to Asian.

Hallo! Wir waren zwar nur für 3 Tage in Venedig(Auf LiDo), aber es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Hotel ist sehr empfehlenswert!Sehr familiär gehalten. Die Gespräche waren immer lustig.Was noch anzumerken ist, das die Zimmer exzellent sauber gemacht wurden. Von der Anlegestelle des Wasserbusses, gelangte man ein fix drei zur Villa. Herzlichen Dank an das Team der Villa und besonders nette Grüsse an Mara. Wir kommen sicher mal wieder vorbei!! greatings Manu &Markus

Das Zimmer war hell und freundlich. Die Villa Berhinz ist in meiner 15 jährigen Venedigerfahrung ein echter Geheimtipp. Preis Leistung sind absolut OK. Frühstück perfekt. Die Eigentümer und das Personal sehr freundlich. Für Venedigbesucher die ebenso das Badevergnügen am Lido schätzen eine tolle Unterkunft

Upon arrival at the villa, we were met by a locked gate and a sign with 3 telephone numbers. Using a North American cellphone (VERY COSTLY) to speak with the owner, we were directed to locate a "button" to open the gate. The instructions were given in Italian with some English. Without the assistance of another guest, we would still be on the street trying to gain access. The room was nice, but the breakfasts consisted of cello packaged crips and "bread". The yogurt was OK and the no-name cornflakes were a treat. The owner was no where to be found since she doesn't live at the Villa and she kept us waiting until 10:00am for her on our checkout day. Don't expect absorbent towels, they are more like small table cloths. There is no sitting room, no ability to interact with other guests and an absentee owner is not really the B&B experience we were expecting. It was worse than a hotel since there was not even a way to get sight-seeing or restaurant recommendations.

Beautifully renovated home, clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Lido is charming and a perfect spot from which to explore Venice and Murano - easy access by car from Troncheto(follow the signs) and great vaparetto connections blocks from the B&B. Owners accessible by phone but non resident. Charming Italian lady on-site speaks no English. Website directions and Lido maps are of little use.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes, geräumiges Doppelzimmer. Das Zimmer ist hell, kann aber gut abgedunkelt werden. Ein Klimagerät ist vorhanden. Die Betten hatten gute Matratzen. Das Bad war sehr sauber und mit Fenster. Das Frühstück war italienisch karg, aber immerhin mit Saft, Joghurt und frischem Obst. Der Kaffee wurde jeweils frisch aufgebrüht und war somit ausgezeichnet. Bei schönem Wetter konnten wir auf dem Balkon mit Blick auf die umliegenden Villen frühstücken. Die Perle des Hauses, namens Tamara, sorgte für eine sehr angenehme familiäre Atmosphäre. Sie spricht relativ gut englisch und ein bißchen deutsch und französisch.

Villa Berghinz was a wonderful place to stay. The location was away from the crowdedness of Venice but still easy to access by convenient boat service running throughout the day. The folks at Villa Berghinz were very welcoming and accomodating. I highly recommend the place to others.

Easy to find, very welcoming, brilliant break. Have a few works of Italian as lady who looks after breakfast doesn't speak English although this wasn't a problem! Also, take a mobile in case they aren't at the villa when you arrive, phone number will be on the gate to call the owner.

This was a real find especially so near to Venice( only a short boat ride by Actv).Also, easy to get to the airport by boat. It was nice and quite away from the crowds at San Marco. Nice little sun deck off the rooms to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.

This place is truly a bed & breakfast. It's so clean and the location is great. Lido is an island near Venice, and depending on the boat you take, one can get there between 15 to 35 minutes. It's soooo well worth it!

Wir waren alle sehr begeistert, es war noch besser als erwartet! Tolle Kommunikation, sehr netter Empfang, die Villa ist einfach wunderschön, wir können sie nur empfehlen und würden gern jederzeit wiederkommen!

Very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom and bathroom were well equipped and a very good size. Convenient location for the water buses to Venice. Would recommend it to anyone.

Perfekt. Lovely building in a quiet street, but near to all you need. 10min. to the beach / 5min. to the station and a supermarket is around the house. Very friendly, romms big and clean. Breakfest for a B&B ok. Lido is the best way to vist venice.

This was a very enjoyable place stay to visit Venice. Quiet location, nice garden where there was also a parking space for our car, about 5 minutes on foot to the boat to San Marco. The bedroom was spacious and the people friendly. We can certainly highly recommend the Villa Berghinz, the only thing that could be improved was the breakfast - it was sparse and only pre-packed food, but the coffee was excellent. We will certainly come back one day!

Eine tolle Übernachtungsmöglichkeit um Venedig zu besuchen! Kurze Wege zum Bootanleger und zur Haupteinkaufsstr und trotzdem ruhig gelegen. Unser Zimmer war neu renoviert. Ganz toll! Die Familie spricht kaum Deutsch, aber die Verständigung hat trotzdem prima geklappt! Man fühlt sich hier sehr privat und wohl! Wir kommen wieder!

Everything was almost perfect in this wonderful villa. The villa is very close (5 min by walk) to the Lido vaporetto station. There are also 2 supermarkets next to the villa. The room was very clean. Breakfast is OK (coffee, bread, croissant and yogurt). Do not hesitate to stay there: good price for a spacious, clean and charming room!

The Villa Berghinz is very nice and a good station to relaxe after sightseeing!We visited Venice at carnival and if you take the water-taxi from St. Marco station to Lido you could be sure that you can relaxe! It´s really a very nice place. The cleanlineless of the rooms is excellent. Breakfast is not a continental it`s an italian one. But if you ask the friendly "Signora" it´s possible to get a second cup of the wonderfull coffee!!!!

Mr Berghinz himself came to the Lido boat station to pick up the 4 of us in his car & take us back to Villa B. And because we were leaving @ 3.30 a.m., he organised breakfast in a bag which he left in the refrigerator @ night, trusting us to take only that & nothing else!

Best stay, nice breakfast, very comfortable and elegant room, it is nice to come to the Lido after busy and narrow Venice.

Lovely place to stay, very clean and welcoming.I would recommend a stay if your looking for somewhere with less crowds and noise of Venice. Don't worry about visiting Venice as it easy to catch a water bus (nearly every 10 minutes), to enable you to visit the sights. We will be back!

Le pt-déjeuner mériterait un effort dans la variété et la quantité (genre confitures maison, brioches et pain frais du boulanger plutôt que ces horribles biscottes et autres délicatessen parfaitement industrielles !!!). Mais l'accueil, la maison et l'environnement valent valent à eux seuls le déplacement !

This bed&breakfast option is very interesting. It is more personal than hotel. The owners are friendly (they speak a little english) and you can have a nice talk with them. Breakfast is basic. Everything is clean and it is not far away from the vapporetti. I would like to go there again.

We enjoied the very quiet and nice place in the near of venece.

We were under the impression when we arrived that there would be someone there who spoke English...or someone there in general. There was a note on the gate to call them when we got there....we had to borrow a phone from a local shop keeper. There is no one there, at all, only an older women who puts bread on a plate in the morning and leaves immediately following. There is no working phone in the building and cell phones dont work on the island well. When we went to leave there was no one there to pay, except the older woman who wouldnt let us leave she said we had to wait until 10...we almost missed our train. The owner who denied knowing english when we had a problem spoke fluently when it was time to pay. Also, do not expect clean towels. Keep in mind it is a 60 euro water taxi ride to the island. I recommend spending the money on a nicer hotel.
