The Venice Emeralds place is situated to the inside of a nobiliare palace and historical importance, where the staff resided (cooks, waiters, domestic servants generally) and they worked for one of the nobiliari families of Venice "Grimani" see www.palazzogrimani.org/.

The room we stayed in a standard double room which had the old windows (single pane). They were just painted and were not able to close properly. We could hear the street noise from the alley below us all night long. The owner was very nice about it and got us another room and a different hotel. He could not change rooms for us as it was totally booked up.

This is a good place to stay for the budget minded. Not fancy, but good location (five minutes from St. Marks), although a little far from the main alleys of Venice, and the owner, Guiseppe, is a hard worker and very helpful. He makes the stay very pleasant. The only real drawbacks are that it does not take credit cards and it is on the (European)second floor and there is no elevator. A positive: the only laundromat in Venice is about 100 meters away.

Well looked after by Guiseppe. A bit difficult to find but that's Venice. Nice brekky provided and lots of it. Well located for access to the Venetian sights.Highly recommended.

We had a lovely time in "A Venice Emeralds", we have to thank Guiseppe- the owner- for that, cause he was really kind, helpful and friendly to us! :D The room and bathroom was spacious and really clean and Guiseppe offered us a nice breakfast! The rate per night was a bit raised, but i understand that all the hotels in the central Venice are expensive anyway. It was great staying there though because everything is really close and its easy to walk around the streets of Venice (if you have a good map of course!)

The place is a bit hidden so I suggest to email first and get some indications, anyway its totally worth the staying. The rooms was spacious, new and perfectly clean, the manager is very friendly and the surrounding is packed with little and nice typical venetian cafe and osterie

The rooms are furnished with taste, without excesses, but careful to the requirements of our days:all room have air conditioned , tv lcd, wi-fii connection, PC.
