La Rosa dei Venti's location was perfect. We enjoyed the long water BUS (much cheaper then water TAXI) ride from the train station along the Grand Canal and it was a short walk to St. Mark's plaza. Travelers should make arrangements to get the entrance code and key prior to arrival. We had some anxious moments trying to figure out how to get in after a long, hot journey. The cafe in the same building, below the B&B, was a good place to have a beverage and meal while watching the canal in the evening. The stay would have been perfect IF the hot water wasn't so temperamental! No hot water twice during our 3 night stay-the evening we arrived and the morning of departure. It was a quick fix for the owner but he lives 45 minutes away. He was friendly and helpful and even made us breakfast early so we could get to our early train on time. This is a great place to stay in Venizia.

We were travelling as a familiy with 2 children, and the La Rosa dei Venti was perfect for us. We had a big room with two beds for the children, whirlpool, shower, breakfast with view on the lagoon and the yachts anchoring in front of the house. The service was very friendly and we really loved it there. A very good ice cream parlour is located next to the B&B. Only the cappuccino and the hot chocolate in the morning could have tasted more italian......

Excellent location(halfway between overcrowded St Marc Place and relaxing Giardini),impressive view on the laguna, thoughtful welcome and assistance from Giovanni, very clean rooms and reasonnable breafkast service (for italian standards!) : our stay was a success! We tried both types of rooms (with and without view/laguna) and definitely the latter don't offer the same impression, even if you get all the qualities of the B&B. The "master bedrooms" are really worth it!!

We loved staying at this hotel. It was small and welcoming. The staff were exeptional.Very helpful.I think we both felt as though we had found a secret hideaway. We did find it slightly confusing to find as we arrived at night, but its location was fantastic for the price. And the view from the balcony was great. Our only problem was making the shower work straight away.It was a jet shower and it took us a while to work out how to get it hot.Still I think this was more us than the shower. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who prefers a smaller friendlier hotel .

It was a true beautiful B&B. The staff were very helpful. I left early and they arranged the taxi, knew who I was at check-out, and gave me a breakfast to take along. I felt very supported by the staff. The breakfast, which is included in tyhe price, is fantastic and of good quality. The B&B itself is beuatifully decorated with a terrific view on the lagoon. The room was nice and at a very low cost compared to other accomodations in the area.

We only spent one night here but was a fantastic place. Rooms are beautiful and spacious with amazing bathrooms. Very calm and relaxing feel once you've managed to find it. Not clearly marked and situated above a small restaurant at the very end of the main sea front. Some disused buldings around but still lively as many of the big luxury yachts dock outside. From the airport the waterbus takes you to Saint Marco which is only a mile away from the hotel but involves walking over many bridges which unfortunately with cases are a hassle as the wheelchair ramps on them are not complete. For a one night stay this is a pain but any longer than this it is well worth it. Venice on the whole is expensive but not smelly and not dirty as sometimes said. Gondola rides are a rip off but you can haggle down from 120 euro's. Great for a wander and the hotel offers a wonderful tranquil oasis from the busy hot passage ways in the summer.

Four of us stayed for 6 nights in the Rosa di Vente. The B&B is ideally located within easy walking distance of San Marco, on the Grand Canal. The accomodation is first rate and a bargain in over-priced Venice, however it is absentee-owner managed. No one was there when we arrived at exactly the hour we had communicated. Rarely was anyone there at the front desk, day or night. There was no help available with baggage--up 42 steps from the front door to the rooms. The level of hospitality was minimal at best. Breakfast, was a voucher to the pub located on the ground floor--an open cold place in October. That being said, the breakfasts were excellent and the young people running the pub were delightful, and very good about accommodating the special dietary need of one of our party. Would we return to this B&B? Our party has mixed feelings. The location and level of accommodation are excellent, however,on the whole, we would prefer to have more contact with our hosts when we travel. That's why we choose small inns and B&B's rather than villa rentals.

You could choose between 4 kinds of breakfasts in the bar at the promenade (price incl.)all of which carried us through the day. Although the landlady didn't speak either English or German we managed to get what we wanted. The location next to Via Garibaldi, the lagune, the vaporetto-station Arsenal couldn't have been more agreable. Although just a 5 minute walk from San Marco it offered a relaxing atmosphere.

We spent one night at La Rosa Bed and Breakfast. We didn't have a choise when we booked our stay in venice, it was only avaliable room for that night. Room was very large and clean, facing water. Bathroom was large as well with whirpool tab. Location is convenient. from the train station you can reach by water bus to Arsenal. It is bed and breakfast, so there is no room service available. However there is a nice cafe downstairs with nice views. Breakfast is served in that cafe as well.

The room was good but the price of 180.-- Euro/per night was too high for a simple bed&breakfast location in relation to good other hotels downtown Venice!

NEGATIVE COMMENTS...this hotel was listed as having a luggage room (convenient when your flight is at night and one of the reason we picked it) THIS IS ONLY PARTLY TRUE. we had to get our luggage back from hotel before 13h00 pm max and so we had to carry our luggage everywhere the last day in the afternoon... been to venice before and got my luggage around 17h30 pm before catching flight so to me this is no luggage room at rosa dei venti.. this is to me a MAJOR inconvenience since nobody wants to walk around venice with suitcases for a whole afternoon which ruined the great reviews i was going to give to this hotel... so i would not go there again cause this luggage thing is important to me... other than that, hotel was really nice, extremely clean and very nicely located. everything else was perfect... maybe this comment will help the hotel review its policy on luggage room ..COMMENTAIRES NEGATIFS..cet hotel affichait lors de la réservation avoir un dépot bagages, une des raisons pour lesquelles nous l'avions choisi..(super quand le vol de retour est le soir et nous l'avions d'ailleurs choisi a cause de cette facilité offerte pour le dépot bagages)CECI N EST VRAI QU EN PARTIE. nous avons du récupérer nos bagages avant 13h00 maximum donc nous avons du nous promener avec nos valises partout le dernier jour dans l'après midi..sommes déja allés a venise avant et avions pu récupérer bagage vers 17h30 avant de repartir pour l'aéroport donc pour moi cet hotel n'offre en aucun cas un service de dépot de bagage a proprement parler ..ceci était vraiment un inconvénient MAJEUR car je pense que personne n'a envie de se promener a venise avec des valises toute une après midi...cela a anéanti les bonnes impressions de cet hotel...et en ce qui me concerne ce depot bagage est important donc je ne retournerais pas dans cet hotel.. ceci mis a part, c'est un très bel hotel, extremement propre et très bien tenu et super bien situé tout était parfait mis a part ce
