Bed and Breakfast Residenza Maddalena - Venice

You get what u pay for. Very clean and Lucas is very nice, too nice I would say, he offered to scrub my friends back. I was there with 2 friends, since we are all girls we Felt a bit uncomfortable when Lucas was in his boxers laying on the couch watching TV. The breakfast is continental just coffee, orange juice and pastries.

Great location, spartan accomodations. Charming host, but spoke little English. Breakfast disappointing, strong coffee, cold sweet rolls...not exactly B&B quality

We stayed in a twin room (2 beds), wich was little sad for a couple. Clean but just a place to sleep.

Our room was big and airy, but looked out on the back of the Casino so some noise from fan, air con, kitchens etc most of the night. Earplugs essential. The owner Carla is very friendly, trusting and helpful - kind to young travellers. It's really more of a hostel than hotel - could do with a table in the room or somewhere to put clothes other than the wardrobe. The breakfast was as Carla described it, a snack - all packaged cakes and biscuits. When we stayed there weren't too many other people there, so only once had to queue for the one bathroom. Could be a pain when all the rooms are full.

It's not really a hotel, more like a private room in a flat,but its quite charming and the location is great. BUT check the address/maps before you set out. Venice addresses are confusing (eg no street names, just a big district divided by house numbers)

Bring your own towels if you don't like smelly ones! The doors of the rooms are neither sound isolated nor opaque. Though ours you could see the bed... Get up early or very late. Otherwise it'll take up to an hour for the other four people to pass the bathroom.
