We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. We had a family of 4 so we rented the quad room with private bath, which was roomy and worked out well. The facility was clean and well maintained. The location is away from the main drag by a few blocks so we enjoyed quiet sleep and felt like we were experiencing Venice from the local perspective. This was my 3 rd visit to Venice, I have stayed in nice hotels on both ends of the Grand Canal but this was my favorit location so far. Mario was very pleasant and makes a good cup of coffee. Due to it's location you need to make sure you know how to get back to it when they give you directions pay attention.

Fantastic ! I was travelling with all my extended family (we were 11) and we had booked Residenza degli Angeli for all of us. We had a perfect stay, we all found rooms were big and beds very comfortable. The owners Esmeralda and Mario have helped us a great deal finding our way in Venice and giving us all the information to plan our visits. We really recommend this place for a stay in Venice and we will definitely come again !

Mario and Esmerelda could not have been more helpful and engaging. He was able to figure out a transportation schedule for us that enabled us to take an early-morning flight and thus gain a few more hours of time in the city. Without his help, I am not sure what we would have done. The location seems ideal: centrally located and easily accessible, yet tucked away on a quiet street.

It was a nice place to stay. My sister and I were travelling alone so we were a little worried about staying at someone's house, but there wasn't any type of problems. The people attending were very nice and the breakfast was great. I would go back to this B&B

B&B is very nice and clean. Room was good size and attached bathroom was nice to have. Owner was very nice and helpful...saw her every morning and she was helpful with advice. The only issue we had was our bedroom was downstairs off the kitchen area and during breakfast it was loud, but we didn't mind too much. I would have used a fan to drown out noise if I had one with me, but it wasn't a big deal because we wanted to be up early enough to start our day in the beautiful city of Venice. I would stay here again. It's very nice for the price.

This is the best offer I found across my entire 4.5 months travels in Europe. The owners are local Venetians who make a significant effort to assist you in any way possible during your stay in Venice. Of the many restaurants they suggest to us (a list of 10 and map of where in Venice they are located), we tried 3 of them and ate phenomenally for a great price too! I would recommend Residenza degli Angeli to anyone looking for a great stay in Venice.

You cannot find it by yourself. You have to tell the time you will reach to the station to staff. Pick up service is necessary. It is not a hotel, so staff is not always there. It is B&B, but breakfast was not so good. You will hear the sound from corridor. Clean. Staff was friendly.

This is a bed and breakfast, not a hotel. It is quaint and the owners are fantastic. It is a short walk to the Rialto Bridge, probably about 7 minutes. Note real easy to find but owner will arrange to meet you at the San Silvestro vaporetto stop. Breakfast was pastries, yougurt, juice and coffee. Nice way to start the day. Overall stay was great, I liked it much better than a hotel!

Wonderful experience for a first trip to Venice. The B&B is in what we decided was the coolest neighborhood in the city. Old, narrow streets very close to just about everything, yet off the tourist path and extremely quiet. We will definitely recommend this place! The breakfasts were fresh baked goods, tea, coffee, yogurt and juice. The room was small, but we expected that. Really we wanted a comfortable room in a great, centrally-located neighborhood where we could stage our itinerary of "getting lost." The inn was perfect for that. I will definitely recommend the inn to friends and family.

Was a wonderful place to stay, would recommend it to anyone visiting Venice. Rooms have original Venetian floors and ceilings, furnished in old Venetian style. Our room was spacious, well heated & clean, with comfortable bed, and a good bathroom. Breakfast is simple but good. Pleasant owner, nice to talk to. The only possible problem could be finding the place, as it is a bit hidden in the maze of Venice. but on the other hand the ''hidden factor'' makes your nights tourist-noise free:) Highly recommendable!

Fantastic place. The place was nice and cozy, with very comfortable beds. The breakfast was excellent and the staff is fantastic. The only thing I can think about is the location. It is in the middle of Venice and since the town is a maze, we got lost every time we tried to go back to the hotel. Nevertheless, if you are like us and think that getting lost is a great way to know a place you will not mind at all. And it is never for more than 15 minutes anyway.

Great place to stay, Mario and Esmerelda were very nice and welcoming and provided us with a map and told us places to eat. Also, Mario met us at the vaporetto and walked us back to the B&B. My husband & I stayed here before we went on a 2 week cruise - excellent start!! Unfortunately we had a late flight but Mario met us - with a smile - at midnight by the vaparetto, he gave us clear instrucions on how to find the next day and we did!! Enjoyed the breakfasts and informal conversations. Mario recommended a local restaurant for our evening meal - excellent!!! Esmerelda was very helfull with questions and emails I sent before we left UK. Would love to stay again, we even took our friends back to show them where we had stayed when we returned to Venice 2 weeks later. The accommodation and area gives you a real feel of how the locals live - loved it!!!

Whilst the frontage of the accomodation is not picturesque the rooms are very quiet well furnished and with comfortable beds.Mario and Esmerelda met us at the vaporetta and recommended excellent resaurants. They were generous in upgrading us on the first night without charge and allowing us to leave luggage on the final day. Breakfast was very good and their welcome and advice was most hospitable. We chose this B&B because of all the good ratings on Venere and we weren't disappointed. Esmeralda and Mario were charming hosts, and we enjoyed our three-night stay at the Residenza degli Angeli. Mario came to meet us (all you need is just to call him upon arrival) and carried my bag the whole way there. Esmeralda is also delightful; we enjoyed chatting with her at breakfast. They had lots of tips for restaurants and where to go to avoid the crowds, etc. Everything is within walking distance from the B&B and it was great to be able to return to the room at anytime of the day.

We stayed 2 nights in Venice. The couple was very nice and gave us advises what to see and where to walk in Venice as well as where to eat. The room was small but we were only there to sleep anyways and totally tired at night. Bed and Breakfast was very good although the location of the bed and breakfast could be drawn and described more clearly. We had problems finding it at night. It is adviceable to hand out a map how to get there with the small streets.

A highly recommended place to stay if you want to have a quiet and nice stay in Venice. Both hosts (Esmeralda and Mario) are most friendly and helpfull. They won't hesitate to help you out if you need any advice on the visit and/or way of life of the city. They can recommend you a few addresses to dine. They can speak a lot of languages aside from the italian (english, spanish, portuguese and french !). When I'll get back to Venice in the years to come, I will certainly look to go back to "The House of the Angels"...

The room was lovely, clean and decorated in a sumptuous style. I was particularly pleased with the en-suite facilities although a hair-dryer would have been an improvement. The welcome was good- the proprietor picked us up from the water-taxi stop, gave us good advice on where to eat and provided us with a map. I have been to Venice four times and never recieved this level of hospitality. The mosquitos were a problem; not the fault of the hotel, but I was annoyed that the mosquito-killer in our room was empty upon our arrival and that the maid failed to replace it even after I made a request. I had to make a second request before this was done. Not good. I also think that the air conditioner should have been under the control of the residents rather than pre-set to save money. In the middle of the night it became a choice of "window open mosquitos in" or "window closed and overheat" resulting in a terrible night's sleep either way. Breakfast felt uncomfortable because the proprietor would sit on the stairs and observe us all eating. We also noticed that yoghurts seemed to be handed out on a "first-come first-served basis" which seemed unfair and we kept missing out! Given that the price of food in Venice is so high, every morsel counts. Plus I obviously wasn't receiving the breakfast I had paid for. Overall the decor was nice in the rooms, but did seem to infantilize the guests somewhat with childish name plates on the doors and teddy bears in the room. I think a "do not disturb" sign on the door would have been well in order. Me and my partner felt very tense in the mornings getting dressed etc. because we didn't know whether the maid was going to walk in at any moment. The one "English language" television channel was dire and unwatchable; in fact it was American. This hotel failed to meet some basic needs such as privacy and sleep. I would not call this a 3-star experience: I have had better in Venice.

This is a very familiar hotel. The owner is very very kind and before going to Venice he phoned us to know our arriving time and told us which "vaporeto" we had to take. Then he went to take us to the vaporeto stop. He also help us with the schedule of our departure and the buses that we had to take to leave the city. It is a little house 4 minutes walking from Rialto Bridge and 10 from Plaza San Marcos. It is very very clean. It has only 3 rooms and a hall were you can have breakfast. Our stay there was very good.

Our hostess met us from the water bus as it would have been very difficult to find without help the first time. She came equipped with spare wellis as the tide was high that day! The room was quiet and Our ensuite bathroom was clean. Our hostess pointed out things on a map and marked them for us which was very useful as were the half dozen restaurants she pin pointed for us where we would get a good meal without being ripped off - no 'tourist menues'. All these proved to be excellent eating places. Breakfast was basic - just juice, tea or coffee and fresh croissants and bread rolls. We had a lovely time and were pleased with the accommodation which turned out to be well situated. Our hosts were friendly and informative. They let us keep our luggage at the accommodation until the early evening on the day we left. As on most of the continent, there are no 'welcome trays' in the rooms so we always take a small kettle to make a drink when we need one.

Residenza is a great place to stay, but the price is a little high. The owners are wonderful - our flight was delayed by 6 hours but they still picked us up from the vaporetto at 2:30am, with a smile! Esmeralda and Mario were charming hosts, and we enjoyed our one-night stay at the Residenza degli Angeli. Granted, it's Venice, so the room wasn't large and there were stairs to climb, but everything was immaculate, well cared for, and quiet. Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty; Esmeralda was kind about offering directions and touring suggestions. The location was great for exploring Venice by vaporetto or on foot, just a few minutes' walk to the nearest station or about 10 minutes to Rialto and the fish and produce markets.

Colazione essenziale ma comunque soddisfacente con unica pecca la mancanza dell'espresso.

Nice and professional hosts, they provide us with a warm welcome and lots of info/tips upon our arrival, including the 50cents Gandola tip. Room (double bed) is very clean with a beautiful view of a garden, and neighborhood is quiet but hidden in the complex street network, with the small map they provide we find our way back everyday.

Venice is very expensive overall. In this context, the price wasn't bad but in comparison with other locations, the prices overall are very high.

We were supposed to be met at the vaperetto stop, but due to miscommunication, nobody showed up. Despite the labyrinth nature of Venice, we are able to locate the B&B quite easily. The hosts were friendly and professional. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning turned off every night from midnight to 5 AM. This made it difficult, if not impossible to sleep.

Really great value and professionally run. Greeting service was most valued and confirmation and direct communication with operator gave assurance to arrival and location. Breakfast is fairly ordinary and very sugar based but that seemed common at this price range.

A charming B & B. Hard to find on your own, but we were met at a water taxi stop and led to the residence. Our luggage was also taken care of. Mario is an excellent host. There are many shops to browse, and the Grand Canal is nearby.

We had an excellent stay at Residenza delgi Angeli.Marco and Esmeralda were very welcoming and spoke English much better than our Italian. After meeting us from the Vaporetto they walked us back to the B&B.They were very helpful with places to go and visit and recommended places to see and eat at away from the crowds which was great for exploring Venice. Breakfast was good.I would recommend staying in this B&B to anyone wanting to visit Venice, we would stay there again. Very clean and nicely decorated.

Difficult to find first time but owner met us from vaporetti stop. We had to leave about 7.30am on the last morning. Breakfast was not availabile that early so the owners left us juice and crossiants. It would have been nice to be able to get some coffee too. No one was about so we left our payement in the room. The owner thoughtfully phoned us later that day to check that everything was OK.

An all-round great place to stay. Located in a very quiet area off the main canals in a residential neighborhood, but an easy walk to sights and canal transportation. Mario and Esmerelda are wonderful hosts, very informative and friendly. They will give you great advice on places to eat, places to see, and how to get around Venice. Rooms are quite comfortable and quiet. I would love to go back!

Fantastic B&B! Cannot rate hosts highly enough. Mario came to meet us when we got lost trying to find it and carried my bag the whole way there. Esmeralda is also delightful; enjoyed chatting with her at breakfast. Very comfortable and welcoming.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Residenza degli Angeli. The welcoming was a unique experience and it was great to be sat down and told about so many parts of the city by someone who knows it so well. The location is brilliant and we found that we were literally a matter of minutes away from the Rialto bridge after coming across it by mistake! Everything is within walking distance from the B&B and it was great to be able to return to the room at anytime of the day just for a breather every now and again. The room itself was brilliant as well with a comfy bed, good shower/bathroom and a fast-acting air-conditioning system (especially needed if it's half as cold as it was when we were there!). For the price and location, the B&B does no wrong and I would highly recommend staying there.

The owners of this B&B are lovely people- very friendly and helpful, pointing out areas on the map and giving great restaurant recommendations. Mario picked us up at the vaporetti stop so we wouldn't get lost (in Venice, you just get lost - once you accept this, you will be much happier! ...it was so true!). The room was comfortable, but word to the wise - even in mid-October the mosquitos will still eat you alive. We had to close our window after waking up with bites all over our arms and neck! That was a shame to do because I loved the fresh air and view. Our shared bathroom was sufficient, and we never had to wait for other people using it. The hot water in the shower stops after about 3 minutes; but what worked for me was turning the water off, and then turning it back on - and poof! a second dose of hot water which was plenty. The walls are thin though - a baby in the adjacent room kept us up most of the night. Breakfast is nice - we were served rolls, a filled croissant, yogurt, juice, and tea/coffee. I would stay here again.

Warm and friendly welcome. Nice room and small but clean bathroom.Good location near Rialto. Our hosts were most helpful and friendly. They both speak French, plus several other languages, which gives a "global" atmosphere to their warm B and B. We recommend this place and will certainly choose to go back there.

We enjoyed staying at this B&B and we appreciated helpful owners, who told us some restaurants. they were surely good. The location is hard to find. It was no problem to reach B&B because a staff picked us up at the water-bus stop. But if you have a heavy baggage, it will become a big problem. You have to know that there are a lot of steps in Venice.

The room was very good- size, decor etc was more than satisfactory. I was disappointed with the bed frame, the mattress was supported by a spring underneath. This can be very uncomfortable for some guests like me who have a sensitive back. A bed to most travellers is very important to get a good sleep. However, what turned me off the most was the fact that the Airconditioners were turned off at 12 midnight till 5 AM and the host forgot to mention it to me earlier. When I called I was told that this is by LAW. This sounded absurd but even if that is the case, the rooms should be provided with a pedestal fan. To assume that guests will be ok without any form of air in the room for 5 hours is unfair. Some people can feel very suffocated. I however really appreciate the personal touch that the hostess bought to our stay and tried her best to help us make the most out of the 24 hours we had in Venice

We chose this B&B because of all the good ratings on Venere and we weren't disapponted. Mario and Esmeralda are great, welcoming people. They speak French and English, and they were able to tell us a lot about Venezia. Esmeralda provided us with a map and a lot of advices for the restaurants and places to go, and Mario gave us a lot of really useful infos about the city, places to see, where to go and what to visit. We stayed for a full week in the B&B and we were really happy. For once, the breakfast was really good, which is becoming rare these days. The room was small but really comfortable and decorated with taste. The bathroom was small too (but hey, we're in Venezia ^^, that's normal) but we had everything we needed and it was clean. Mario allowed us to let our luggages in the hotel on the last day and we were able to take these back just before we went to the airport, which is really nice :) We'll definitely stay there again !

Everything that's been said about the owners is true - they were the best part of the B&B and made our stay in Venice the best of all of the big cities we went to in Italy. Great conversations as they both speak great English (ask Esmeralda where to shop). The room and b/f was great too. We will definitely return here.

We stayed twice on our trip to Italy and would thoroughly recommend Residenza Degli Angeli. The residenza is in a quiet residential location, but only 10 minutes walk to the Rialto bridge, and only literally minutes to restaurants and shops. You can cross the Rialto and walk to St. Marks square in about 20 minutes. It’s easy to get lost in Venice when you first arrive, but the owner Mario met us at the vaporetto stop, S.Silvestro, and took us to the residenza. He also helpfully supplied us with a map and recommended some local places to eat and things to do. We ate in all of the places he recommended, and they were great, reasonable prices, different styles, and used by locals, which is always a good sign. We’ve stayed in two different rooms, both with private bathrooms. Both had tasteful Venetian style decoration, with lovely old style furniture and full air conditioning. The ground floor was smaller and cosier, while the second floor room was larger and had a view of the streets and a neighbours garden. Venetian streets are narrow, which makes the rooms darker than normal, but this wasn’t a problem. The residenza was quiet, though you have to expect some occasional noise from the shared bathroom upstairs. The owner Mario was one of the best things about it, so helpful and friendly, and good for conversation in the morning over breakfast. I had trouble with a painful wisdom tooth while I was there and Mario was extremely helpful and accompanied me to the pharmacy. We felt staying here gave as a better idea of Venetian life than other places would have.

This was a great B&B. Mario was very helpful and pleasant. We went to a Vivaldi performance in a church that we had found out about through the B&B. It was very pretty and close to everything. Also, you don't need to buy an extended vaporetto pass because the whole city is walkable.

Staying at Bed & Breakfast Residenza degli Angeli made our experience in Venice terrific. Mario went above and beyond our expectations. Our room was decorated nicely and sharing a bathroom was not a problem. I do not regret not having one of the rooms with a private bath. While it was easy to access the tourist locations, the hotel's location gave us the feeling of being off the beaten path. The rooms and bathroom were very clean and the breakfast was a nice start to our day. If we get the chance to return to Venice, we will be sure to stay their again.

We were delighted with the location, the welcome and particularly with our hosts. The room was also fine. We were on the ground floor next to the breakfast facilities and initially were concerned that it might be noisy but that was not the case. Esmeralda was a mine of information about the local area and we ate very well and very cheaply at restaurants used mainly by Venitians - amazing for Venice.

We went for the first get-away for a long time. We wanted a cheap (in-expensive) place to stay in centre of Venice so we could return easily any time in the day; also somewhere that characterised Venice as much as possible; we also hoped for somewhere that was quiet at night. We found exactly what we were looking for. Also the owners were very friendly, providing us arrival details before we arrived and meeting us when we got there; and allowing us to leave luggage there on final day. Also they were very useful for local info and providing a local perspective. I was rather surprised, given how little it cost. Given the previous reviews I was expecting this place to be difficult to find, but given its closeness to Rialto bridge, once we got our bearings we could easily get back without even using a map - unusual in Venice! Definitely a bargain.
