This was the second time at Palazzo Duodo and it was once again a pleasure. The rooms are furnished with wonderful, comfortable antiques which give the suites an authentic Venetian feel. The staff is gracious, attentive and very helpful. The location can't be beat! I will definitely consider returning to the Palazzo for a third stay.

This was our 2nd stay - we were not disapointed. It is splendidly decorated - (had the Red Room this time) makes you feel true Venetian decor - breakfast was delicious and privacy top notch. Highly recommend.

What a lovely B&B. My family and I were given the White Suite which was actually a main bedroom with a double bed, and a smaller room (with a single bed) attached. Actual location of the Palazzo was ideal - a two minute walk would bring you to the St. Mark's Square. However, having to first find Hotel Centauro was the tricky part !!! We will definitely return to Palazzo Duodo & Venice (but not in summer - it was too hot).

We loved our stay here. The position was great, our room was lovely but the shared lounge and dining was absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was great. The directions you are given and where you book in is not where you stay so just be prepared for a little more of a walk.

A excellent location; breakfast very good; so many good places to eat nearby; instructions as to how to work the air conditioning would have been useful - we eventually worked it out!!

Excellent bed and breakfast in the heart of Venice. Highly recommended. The only draw back is that you have to check in at another hotel which was a bit difficult to find since it was down an alleyway and not well advertised. Also this property does have an elevator but there are about 4-5 steps that you have to climb before you reach the elevator. It wasn't an issue for us but might pose a problem for someone who is disabled or elderly. But besides that, great stay!

The Palazzo Duodo is unmarked, which was confusing, and the key needs to be picked up at another hotel. Otherwise, on arrival one cannot get into the building. When establishing the reservation it would be good to include this information, directing guests to the other hotel to retrieve the key. Fortunately, when we arrived it happened to coincide with another guest returning, and he let us in, then helped us locate the other hotel so we could get the key. Our room was above a restaurant, so it wasn't quiet with the windows open - we had to keep them shut at night. Sound level was acceptable with the windows shut. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the floor does not appear to have been swept during our stay - a scrap of paper on the floor was there when we arrived and remained there when we left. We did enjoy our stay and would stay there again. We especially liked the proximity to Piazzo San Marco.

Mr. Andreas (I think he is the owner) is present on the day that you arrive and he offers you all the help that you might need and then he disappears. The girl that cleans and serves breakfast, does not speak a word in English (not that matters a lot but Mr. Andreas assured me that she was fluent in English and I could ask her for help if I needed. Guess what, not a word). And she also comes in your room to clean when you are still there and it does not matter a lot if you are using the bathroom or dressing. I would not go back to Palazzo Duodo, but I would definitely go back to Venice.

Couldn't have had a better stay. Peaceful relaxed, independent. Just what we were looking for, and as presented. The map for the Centauro hotel which oversees the property was a bit vague because of the loction of its symbol on the map covered an entire block but that was minor. Overall, though it was most memorable, roomy, and I mean roomy, quiet and romantic. We traveled with 3 teenage sons and it was large enough to be romantic for Mom and Dad. This is a lovely B&B, with an excellent breakfast. The only thing that would have made it perfect was a bit of air conditioning in the common areas. Otherwise, this is a charming place, and we'd stay here again.

This was our first trip to Venice and my husband and I like our stay in Venice in Palazzo Duodo, most of all the location. It is very convenient location on the street, which connects the Rialto Bridge and piazza St. Marco. We stayed in two suites green and white for duration of our 4 nights stay. The green suite is very spacious unlike many other hotels of 3-4 stars in Italy but the bathroom did not have the shower one can take standing up. It was an old European style, which preserve the overall antic image of the suite. The white suite is better suitable for 3 people rather then 2 because it divided for two rooms with additional bed. At the same time the white suite has a standard standup shower. The breakfast was nice, but the help did not speak one word in English and was not pleasant to be around. The young woman who served breakfast never smiled. When you on vacation it is nice to start the day with a smile. The welcome at the hotel Centauro when we arrived to pick up the key from our suite was not warm either. But the location is superb and the spaciousness of the rooms was very nice to have.

This was my 15 year old daughter's favorite place we stayed in three weeks of travel in italy. You are literally staying in a Palace. It is a very small....maybe 3/4 rooms little gem. The pictures on the internet are very accurate and in fact may not do it justice....This place is just plain beautiful....complete with a canal view out our window. We had a two room suite which provided my daughter some much needed privacy. There is something you need to know about this property, however....It is Venice and nothing is easy to find. You have to check into one hotel and then walk about 8-10 minutes to the other property....if you know where you are going....if not...maybe 20-30 minutes of walking around with your luggage and map and asking locals.....The problem here is that there is no sign so none of the locals know where it is....Make sure you ask them directions to the address. One shop owner 15 feet away from the hotel had never heard of it....but when he saw the address...walked the 15 feet to the door and said....Yes...Here. There is only a small brass sign (4 X 6 inches) next to the door. The hotel you register in is the Hotel Centaur off a small Piazza. The hotel is in a very narrow alley opposite the side of the fountain you walk up from and dead center. Look for a picture of a Centaur hanging over the alley and you have it. The instructions they give to find the hotel Duodo are less than great....Don't be shy....ask the locals where the street is. I would even suggest that they give you a map with landmarks like shops or cafes (since the streets are not well marked)...or even escort you over to the property. The consensus of others staying there was that everybody got lost. After driving 3 hours, parking in the Tronchetto Garage, catching a Vaporetti, and lugging my bags the three to four blocks to the Hotel Centaur...I sure wasn't in the mood for a hotel hunt through poorly marked streets. Overall....this is a great property...very pretty, orna

Very difficult to find. Hotel Centauro could be more helpful in assisting guests find Palazzo Duodo. The directions provided by the hotel were vague. A detailed map or a guide would be helpful.

Arriving was difficult, to say the least. Having rooms in a different location than the one for register is baffling. I think that, given de special design on Venecia, a more precise map with clear signals of where to embark at the train station, what vaporetto line to take, what station to land in and how to reach from there to the registering pace would be of much help.

Tricky to find, but great value by European standards. I recommend you travel light in Venice (300 bridges with steps) Staff accessible and friendly. We stayed in white suite which was ample for 3 people. Not a great view from this room, but not important for us. Huge sitting room and breakfast area ajoining. The Green Suite would be perfect for a couple with large bedroom and large bath.

THE DIRECTIONS SHOULD BE PREPRINTED so one can find the hotel and the bed and breakfast. The room was adequate, not luxurious, breakfast excellent, service staff very nice and efficient, clean , good location. ONLY accepts CASH, NO CHARGE!!

Very nice place in an alley. Very nice breakfast and the living room area was great to spent some time if you didn't want to go out. Overall very pleasant. Only drawback was the complicated arrangements of finding the place. You first had to go to a hotel, which is also in an alley and hard to find, to get directions and keys to the B&B. With luggage this can be a hassle. But, the place is very nice and centrally located. Very close to St Mark Piazza.

2 adults 4 children aged 9 to 16 Had two suites red and green great space available and a sensational common living area and lovely breakfasts. What a lovely retreat this place was in busy Venice. We met the owner and he couldn't be more accomodating, even gave us travel advice for our ongoing holiday. Position was fantastic close to both St. Marks and Rialto. Love to go back and would definitely stay here again

This was the best accomodation during our entire summer vacation in 8 countries. The Palazzo Duodo is a gem of a pension. The only complaint I had was trying to locate the managing property, Hotel Centauro for check-in. We walked in circles for 25 minutes before locating it. The reception at Hotel Centauro was not very helpful and seemed "put off" that she either had to work that day, or had to "deal" with us. We however, tried to stay positive and friendly with her. Upon our arrival at Palazzo Duodo, I have to say, we were delighted with the location (between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square) which is close to bars and cafes and restaurants and shopping. The palazzo itself is absolutely lovely. It only houses three rooms/suites with a common living room and dining room. Our room, the Green Suite, was large, exceptionally clean, had 5 or 6 windows looking out onto the canal below, was beautifully furnished, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. We had satallite television with only 1 or 2 English channels (but we didn't watch that much television anyway). The bathroom was large and well appointed with a tub/shower, toilet and bidet, a long chest on one wall and a sink. Water pressure and hot water were never a problem. The furniture was lovely, the walls were covered in beautiful fabric, the linens were quite nice. The entrance hall in our suite had a dresser and plenty of room for shoes and jackets. The room had quiet air conditioning. The owner of the pension greeted us the next morning after check in during breakfast. He was very kind and helpful. Breakfast included meat and cheeses, fresh fruit, rolls and pastry, breads, hard boiled eggs and fresh juices and coffees. We loved this place and vow to return. It's absolutely wonderful. It's perfect for small families and couples. It may be outpriced for the single traveller, although it was worth every penny!

Very nice, typical venetian place, just a short drop away from Markus square. Nice hideaway, you will have privacy, because there are only 3 suites and no personel around, except in the morning to prepare breakfast. Your have to check in at Hotel Centauro, though, it's a walk from Rialto to the Hotel and then again to Palazzo Duodo, so better bring light luggage :)
