Very nice place. I can definitely recommend it! It is close to S. Marco and still quiet since a little outside the common turists routes. Beautiful rums. Reasonable price. Easy to reach from the train station, use "vaporetto" line 1!. A few good typical restaurants can be found in the area. The owner was very helpful, nice and professional.

We stayed here in October. Was in Italy for 3 weeks and stayed here 3 nights.Sonia was very helpful and the accommodation was much more than we bargained for. Venice is expensive-food-and we thought that the rooms will be small. What a surprise. Main bedroom was HUGE and 2nd room had 2 beds-all the best we had in Italy. Kitchen with dining area was also enough. Bathroom had shower with plenty of hot water. It was rainy the one morning but we explored as much as we could the rest of the time. And it is such a beautiful city! We just walked everywhere and used the easy vaporetti. We bought a 3 day pass and it worked very well.

The B&B Gli Angeli is an excellent alternative to the very expensive hotels in Venice. The host Sonia is most helpful in making your stay in Venice an excellent experience by supporting you with valuable advise.

Gli Angeli, a lovely little place out of the hustle and bustle of Venice. Our room was quite charming. When we napped in the afternoon we could hear violin or accordian music wafting down from a Pizzaria a few doors down. Very quite at night. We felt secure in the neighborhood. Loved the little market a few blocks away. All the great vegetables are sold off a boat and the fish monger and butcher are just a few doors away. Sonia had great little maps and several good recommendations. She has a unique old stone recently discovered in her building foyer that has held up the renovations of the entry. It should be quite a show piece in the next couple of weeks.

Sonia is an excellent host. Thanks for all the dolce she left us. I highly recommand going there. She knows every place to go. We've spend 3 nights there and if I would go back to Venice, I'll definitively go back there. Room is very clean and spacious (much bigger than what we usually have in Europe)

Gli Angeli is a really nice place - very quiet but 2 minutes walk from the waterfront and about 7 mins from Piazza San Marco and a couple of minutes from good bars and restaurants in Arsenale. Sonia seems a good host. Better than a hotel costing double the price. Basic DIY breakfast. Nice little garden. Fully recommended.

My husband and I stayed two nights at Gli Angeli and couldn't have been happier. The location in Castello Sestiere adjacent to the Arsenale (pronounced Arsenali) is GREAT! It is close to or provides easy access to most that Venice has to offer WITHOUT being overrun with the tourist crowds. - The Biennale ticket office is outside the front door. - Via Garibaldi is an easy walk through narrow alleys (calli) with lots of restaurants, supermarket, bars, pharmacies, access to Giardini gardens and many Biennale exhibitions - The Arsenale vaporetto stop is just 100 metres (and 1 bridge) away. The No. 1 vaporetto stops at Arsenale and frequently runs up and down the Grand Canal and out to the lido. The Alilaguna Blue line ferry (to/from Marco Polo airport) also stops at Arsenale. - San Marco is about 400 metres (6 bridges) away. Sonia who runs Gli Angeli is really helpful and provides lots of advice and some discount vouchers.

The B&B Hotel Gli Angeli is a great place to stay, it is in an excellent location only thirty minutes by waterbus from the railway ststion, we brought a waterbus pass from the Venice Connected web site before we arrived which saved us waiting in line to get on the waterbus and saved a lot of money. We were disapointed not to meet Sonia during our stay as she had family business to attend to out of town she advised us of this buy email the day before our arrival and were greeted by her loverly mother who looked after us during our stay. Sonia could not have been more helpful with advice and recommendations before our stay and many discount vouchers and advise waiting for us in our large spacious room. I would recommend this B&B as a great place to stay on a trip to Venice although a little away from the main action it is ten minutes walk to the St M square and has a waterbus stop five minutes walk from the B&B. When we return to Venice we will stay at The B&B Gli Angeli it is perfect, thank you Sonia and your Mother, we wish we could have stayed longer.

Gli Angeli is ideal for the discerning traveler who wants to see a side of Venice that many tourists will miss. Located just outside the walls of the Arsenale, it is only a few yards from the waterfront, and fifteen minutes from St Marks, but could be in a different world. Comfortable rooms overlooking a quiet Campo make for a relaxing stay. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful 4 days in Venice. This was our fourth visit and Gli Angeli was definitely the best place we have stayed in. Sonia was delightful and very welcoming and happy to give us lots of useful hints. The room was typically Venetian and we enjoyed taking our breafast in the room. We would definitely recommend Gli Angeli and would not hesitate to go back there again. Thank you Sonia for such a wonderful time!!!

Sonia and her mum are really kind. We booked for a double room and instead (for the same price) we had a whole apartment with a big kitchen! Surroundings are very calm, no noise, but you will surely hear your guests wake up at 8 in the morning... so you will not stay in bed late! You can keep your room's key during the stay. Do-it-yourself breakfast, no fresh pastry.

Sonya is incredible!!!!When we got to Venice the weather was horrible, boats on strike, cold, wet and my medicine got ruined, Sonya personally walked me to a nearby pharmacy and spoke Italian to the pharmacist to help me.The room was more than I expected. We were a family of 4 and the apartment was amazing. I have beened to Venice on 3 occasions and to Italy 3 times and this was the most amazing place we have evered stayed. Do not let the location keep you from staying there, it is only a 10 minute walk fron San Marco Square. Also nearby is an Italian street with shops that all the locals go to (Del Forno) ask Sonya she will know.Look at past reviews they are high for a reason, you could not be disappointed.

We had an absolutely fantastic time in Venice (if even just for a night). Out host Sonia was the most compassionate and patient woman we have ever stayed with. Since we had purchased a few too many things along the way, and our luggage broke, we wound up leaving a bag with Sonia which she spent tireless hours arranging to ship back to us. FedEX and UPS internationally were an absolute nightmare, and we had virtually given up on ever seeing our things again, but Sonia found away (after weeks of hassle on her part) to send us our belongings. It wouldn't even do her justice to say that she went ABOVE AND BEYOND our needs/expectations. Many, many thanks, Sonia!!!

The room was amazing. Sonia is the sweetest most helpful person, ever!! We were there during Halloween and she bought my 8 and 11 year old Halloween treats because they were missing trick or treat at home. This property is in the Castelloe section of Venice which is a much quieter area than most, yet still easily walkable to everything. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Gli Angeli (Sonia) is great for families and also very romantic for couples. I highly recommend this property and I heartily thank Sonia for a wonderful experience we will never forget.

This was our first trip to Venice and this B&B was very relaxing after the long trip. What a jewel! The rooms were very gorgeous, spacious, and quiet. Sonia was so friendly and helped us find everything we needed, including a replacement contact lens. She had the answers to all our "how to's". Sonia and Gli Angeli made our stay extremely memorable. Location was great, away from the crowds. Breakfast was fine. Will definitely return!

Gli Angeli is in a wonderful location--short walk along the lagoon to St. Mark's but in a quieter area with access to less expensive shops and restaurants. Convenient to Aresenale vaporetto stop, which allows you to see the entire Grand Canal on the way from the train station. Sonia is a wonderful hostess, very gracious and helpful. She met us at the vaporetto stop and provided "extra touches" to our stay. Our living arrangements added to our enjoyment of Venice. We'd highly recommend staying at Gli Angeli and would go out of our way to stay here on a return visit.

Close to all the best places to see in Venice and transport within easy walking distance. The area is safe if you are travelling on your own. I would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend Sonia and Gli Angeli to other travellers.

WE BOOKED THE APARTMENT(TWO DOUBLE BEDROOMS,LIVING ROOM,KITCHEN AND BATHROOM) ACROSS CANAL FROM THE B&B-IT WAS BRAND NEW-FULLY AIR-CONDITIONED, VERY CLEAN AND WELL RESOURCED. THE LOCATION IS IDEAL-WINDOWS LOOKING ONTO THE LAGOON,RIGHT BESIDE THE VAPARETTO STOP-BOAT EVERY 10 MINUTES FOR GRAND CANAL-LOTS OF FAB RESTAURANTS AND BARS CLOSE BY.SONIA PROVIDES EXCELLENT ADVICE ON EATING PLACES.BEST PLACE IN VENICE!WE HAVE BEEN TO VENICE SEVERAL TIMES AND STAYED IN LOTS OF EXCELLENT HOTELS, BUT THIS WAS THE BEST CHOICE EVER-GREAT VALUE WITH GREAT QUALITY!BOOK NOW-YOU WONT REGRET IT!

Very good price / quality. Highly recommended ! We had a very warm welcome and it is at a fantastic location - close by everything and still very quiet. Everything (also the tips from Sonia where to eat and where to go) were excellent. We had a superb stay. The place looks less good at the outside compared to the inside. Only minor criticism: as in a lot of places in Venice- breakfast is a bit on the small side... but there are many places to have it elsewhere...

We stayed at this B&B in March 2008. By far this is one of the nicest placest we've ever stayed...its better than most hotels in fact. Our room was beautifully decorated in venetian style and spotless clean with a lot of personal touch from owner Sonia. A lovely continental breakfast was in the room every day..consisting of a wide variety of cakes, biscuits, toast, croissant, lots of different teas and coffee with a toaster and espresso machine in the room.Fridge also in room with lots of OJ,milk and yoghurts. Sonia was very nice always leaving little chocolate treats and such in the room. She also greeted us with a bottle of wine and left me chocs and little bunch of flowers for 'Womans Day' which was really touching. Sonia also noticed what we liked with regard to breakfast and left more of it accordingly. She was extremely helpful in recommending places to see and dine in venice and gave me 2 lovley little necklaces upon leaving. All these personal touches made this place amazing to stay and we would most definately go back and recommend anyone stay there. Its close to everything only 5 mins from St Marks Sq and right beside the vaporetto stop at Arsenale.

Excelent accomodation, confortable, spacious and clean room. Run by a charming and helpful woman Sonia. The locations perfect and easy to find, very close to St. mark's Square. Good area for access to vaporetto, restaurants, banks , supermarket and little coffee-bar. This real b&b is five stars !!!!! Alba

Sonia was a gracious hostess and the accomodations were wonderful - close to the main sites, but just far enough away so you weren't in throngs of people when you were ready to relax at the B&B. Everything we needed was provided with a smile and it felt like we were staying as a true guest. The maritime museum which is just around the corner was very interesting and doesn't cost anything. I would highly recommend B&B Gli Angeli.

Sonia offers two rooms, one is a large 2 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and a bath and its very nice. We stayed in the "blue room" which is one bedroom and a bathroom. Very nice furnishings with AC and a safe. Breakfast is self-serve in your room and it wasn't that good. That is the only complaint we have. She is very nice and speaks good English. Location is nice. A block off the water and 3 minutes from a Varoretti stop. Great local restuarants and a pay phone that DOES use USA calling cards are one block away. After being around tons of tourists all day, this place is a great refuge yet its only 5 minutes from San Marcos square. This is a great deal and I would recommend it to all!

Gli Angeli was a fantastic place! We stayed in the Blue Room for 2 nights, and wished we had been there longer. It was decorated beautifully, and she even had some fresh flowers there to greet us. The building was easy to find using maps and Sonia's directions. The location is good--it's away from the crowds and noise, and yet it is easy to walk to most parts of the city from there. Sonia is such a nice lady. She gave us suggestions about where to eat and shop, and showed us routes that would avoid the big crowds. She even let us use her internet the day we were leaving. She definitely goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The quality of the room is excellent for the price we paid! The only suggestion I would make is to keep a light on in the entryway or the stairway for guests when they come back to the room after dark. We had to stumble around in the pitch black and feel our way around to get to our 2nd story doorway. Breakfast is OK. Just some muffins and croissants that are pre-wrapped. But there is an espresso maker and she had some milk, juice, and yougurt in the fridge for us. I'm sure there are some nice places nearby to eat breakfast, but we decided to make due with what was in the room. Overall, our stay was fantastic. It was probably the best acommidation we had in Italy. I would recommend it to anybody and would definitely stay there again in the future.

We enjoyed our stay so much we hope we'll go to Venice again and stay at Gll Angeli. It really was a home away from home. Having a kitchen was wonderful. A little market and grocery store is not far away. You can get a take-out pizza next door and enjoy the garden view from the kitchen (the doors open up to the garden). We found the location to be great. It was nice to walk over to the activity of St. Marks square and to be able to leave it and enjoy the quiet neighbourhood of Gli Angeli. You are also close to the water to enjoy the view from Arsenale. The naval museum right next to the B&B was interesting. Sonia was absolutely wonderful, helpful and accomodating. We appreciate her thoughfulness. Highly recommended.

While the location did seem out of the way ...almost the last stop on the Grand Canal ... it was actually a great location... Close to Market Street, restaurants and only a 10 minute walk to St. Mark's Square. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment with a kitchen and balcony with stairs to a garden. The apartment was spacious, clean with a modern kitchen and bathroom. Very private and good for a family. It was fun to walk to Market Street each morning to pick up fresh pastries for breakfast and groceries for the day. Our hostess was a whirlwind of information about what to see, where to eat and shop. Took a peek at the other room which was a bedroom with ensuite and it was lovely as well. Thanks for the great memories!

What a perfect way to visit Venice with 2 youngish children (8 & 6). The apartment was comfortable, in a great central location, 30 seconds from the Grand Canal and meant that we could experience food shopping in Venice as well as eating at a couple of delicious restaurants. Sonia who owns the apartment was delightful and very helpful. We visited in November (good time to go - not too crowded) so were unable to use the garden that goes with the apartment, but I'm sure it's lovely in spring/summer. We would highly recommend Gli Angeli to other people and have indeed already done so to family and friends.

Well what can we say – our little paradise in Venice. Our apartment was quite spacious, with every attention to detail. The cute toaster and coffee machine were just perfect for our needs. Sonya is a lovely hostess and although she was not at home, when we arrived, all of our requirements were catered for – map, with important places all marked – bankomat, bakery, restaurants, shopping street. Coffee and some snacks as well. She recommended a glass shop at Murano – where we were offered great discounts. Great location for exploring the delights of Venice and the vaporetto just 2 mins away . Gli Angeli was just one of the many highlights that ranked Venice as numero uno on this vacation. Highly recommended

Sonia is definitely a very caring bed & breakfast owner. We found her attention to detail and anticipating clients' needs to be far superior to other bed & breakfasts we'd stayed at. The blue room is larger than most rooms we'd stayed in as well. We felt that we had more privacy and felt more "at home" than in other bed & breakfasts. Although we missed some of the hot cooked breakfasts we enjoyed in London, Barcelona, Amsterdam -- Sonia does provide plenty of snacks, tea cakes, biscuits, coffee, tea, juice, milk, bottled water, etc. that you can enjoy in the room (the refrigerator is handy), and coupons for breakfast at an establishment close by (which we never took advantage of so we can't comment on).

We were extremely satisfied with Gli Angeli. It was in a perfect location, near San Marco and a vaperrato stop. Sonia was a perfect hostess. Our only point of question is that a prepared breakfast is not included. Sonia provided the makings for a continental breakfast. With the kitchen we were able to make some meals and thus save on always eating out. We have been very enthusiastic in our comments with our friends and family in recommending Gli Angeli as an excellant location in Venzia.

Excellent value for money, Sonia was most welcoming, going out of her way to make sure we were happy with the room/facilities. We had a wonderful time in Venice made even better by staying at the Gil Angeli.

This was a great place to stay - away from the tourist crowds, but only 10 mins from San Marco. Soon worked out the interesting back-alley route to the Piazza, which avoided the crowded waterfront. Rooms were spacious, clean, furnished in Venetian style, and very comfortable. Added bonus of a kitchen and self-catering, with local supermarket close. Also, the garden was great for afternoon siestas. Sonia was very welcoming. Air-conditioning had just been installed, which was a wonderful relief in the July heat

We arrived late (11pm) and Sonia was very welcoming, managing to get us a snack at a nearby cafe as they were closing up. Unfortunately we were only here 1 night, but would definitly stay again, but for a few days. My only suggestion would be to get a map or some very clear directions, to help locate Sonia, as we had a bit of a mystery tour before finally getting there.

Sonia was very kind, helpful and humorous. The apartment was beautiful with a well stocked refrigerator and espresso makers in the cabinets. I am sure we could have stayed there in comfort for a very long time if we'd had more time and money. A very good deal for the elegance and peace definitely. It was a bit of a long canal ride to Arsenale from the train station (the location gives you great access to both Venice and Lido), but you really could walk to San Marco in less than 10 minutes.

The accommodation at Gli Angeli (Sonia) was perfect for our family of four. The apartment was spacious and comfortable and we had a lovely welcome from Sonia who even showed us how to make Italian coffee. We were only a few minutes' walk from St Mark's without having to pay St Mark's prices when we ate out. We would definitely recommend Gli Angeli (Sonia) to anyone wanting to spend time in such a magical city. With cheap flights from our local airport to Marco Polo, and Sonia's lovely accommodation, short breaks in Venice are no longer a dream.

The apartment we stayed in was excellent for a family. The main room is spacious as are the kitchen and bathroom. However, the smaller room with twin beds is not really suitable for a second couple unless they don't mind a long skinny room with little space for luggage. Our hostess was very helpful. She responded quickly to any problems and gave us good suggestions and directions for laundry, shopping, and internet sites. The location of this apartement is also excellent, as it is very close to a vaporetto stop with only one bridge to cross with luggage. That stop is one that goes to the airport, as well. It is also out of the most crowded tourist areas. We enjoyed our stay there and would go back.

We stayed in the blue room. It was a very lovely equipped room, the bathroom was very satisfactory, well equipped and very clean. The hostess was very friendly and attentive.E.g. breakfast was always decorated with chocolates. On the second morning there was a bunch of flowers going together well with the colours of the room. After checking out we could leave our luggage in a special room. This accommmodation completed our stay in Venice in a very pleasant way. We can recommend 'Gli Angeli' very much. Georg Hirt

Gli Angeli was very easy to get to - just catch the water-bus from the train station to Arsenale and then a 2 minute walk. The room was very clean and appears to have been renovated recently. It was only a 10 minute walk to San Marco. The only disappointment was that breakfast provisions were in the room, which while convenient there was no kitchen bench/sink to be able to rinse dishes etc. Overall a very good, quite place to stay, and excellent value for money.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gli Angeli. The proprietor was very friendly, helpful and courteous and the room was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. It was also very well located and conveniently located for the vaparetto stops and the attractions. We would most certainly use Gli Anageli again and would recommend it highly.

First of all, Mrs.Sonia, the owner of the apartment house was so thoughtful lady that we had very happy days. The classic and good taste accommodation was far beyond our expectation. However, it was quite a pity our stay in Venezia was limited. Anyhow, it was our jack pot in this Italian journey.

We had a great couple of nights at Gli Angeli. The location is ideal for exploring the Castello area of Venice, and only 10 minutes away from the centre....2 minutes from Arsenale water-bus stop. The rooms are fine, with a good kitchen area with plenty of goodies in the fridge! Sonia is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Gli Angeli was beautifully decorated and very clean. It is located in a quiet residential area, with a convenient grocery store, but only a short walk to St. Mark's Square. Sonia, the proprietor, has a flair for decorating and added some lovely touches to the ambience such as the pretty table setting for breakfast in our room. There was plenty of hot water for showers and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Sonia was out of town for two days of our visit and we had to make several attempts to contact her, but she was very friendly and accommodating. The queen size bed was very firm (although the pillows were very hard and uncomfortable). The overall value of the room was excellent and we would love to return to Venice and would gladly stay at Gli Angeli again.

I can really not think of any complaint. The biggest surprise was the wonderful garden that we could use as much as we liked. The only nuisance were the mosquitos but even that was taken care of with a spray in the cupboard.

An super little set up in a very quiet part of town but 2 minutes from the Arsenale boat stage and only 10 minutes St Marks -rather than going down to the front it's worth going north and cutting through the back Alleyways -Sonia was lovely and very helpful.

The canal near here was being refurbished but this was in no way the host's fault. However the area being worked on is not visible from the rooms themselves. The B&B is located in a residential neighborhood just a few blocks from the Arsenale stop and maybe a 7 or 8 minute walk from San Marco. For us this was a perfect location. Not in the tourist crush but definately close and convenient. The rooms were decorated very nicely with numerous antiques. The kitchen was well stocked including an expresso machine, microwave, disherwasher refrigerator. The private garden area was a real treat. Sonia the owner was not only friendly but had many helpful suggestions as to where to go and where to eat. We thought this was an excellent value and if we ever are lucky enough to make it back to Venice we will be staying at Gli Angeli again.

Why stay in a small hotel room when you can have your very own Venetian apartment? A haven of peace and quiet minutes from St Marks Square. Sonia was extremely welcoming and patient with our questions on local restaurants and transport. We have already recommended Gli Angeli to friends and family. Don't tell everyone we want to make sure its not booked up for our return!

My fiancee and I had a wonderful stay. However, we had an unusual situation where the owner of the B&B accidentally placed us in a room that was much nicer than the room we should have received. What was especially nice about this B&B was that while it was within easy walking distance of San Marco's Square, it was in a very quiet location. The owner is very friendly as well and lives upstairs from the rooms. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a less expensive place to stay in Venice than average.
