In a charming building in the old city centre of Venice, just fifteen
minutes on foot to st. Mark's square and right beside the Modern Art
"Biennale" site and the "Arsenale" , the "Giardini" bed & breakfast is a
little niche full of hospitality .
The B.&B. is in the characteristic
"Castello" area, at the end of Via Garibaldi, a well-known street which
still maintains the features of the old Venice and of course you also have
a lovely "view of the canal".

a very very fine place to stay. Very silent, very friendly hosts. Although an attic room there's no problem with the room temperature, the air condition works well. Staying for the biennale? A good place just in the middle between Giardini and Arsenale. 3 minutes to the vaporettos. More than italian breakfast and you can use the balcony of the family as well. There's also a small possibility to do your own coffee. Thanks for the nice stay Roberto!

A very good place to stay if you are looking for a place where to feel at home and cheap comparing with the average rates in Venice. Hosts are really helpful. They use to recommend best places where to go or to eat and make you feel part of the community. Room and en/suite bathroom are very clean and cooking facilities are a great thing, specially if you don't want to eat outside every day. The B&B is located in an area of Venice where venetians live, full up of stores, supermarkets and small and nice restaurants. The location is near the exhibition of modern art "Biennale" and "Arsenale" and very close to all the most important places to see. We would certainly recommend this accomodation.

The room is alone situated in other building, which is more closer to the Great Canal than the main property. It is newly furbished and eqipped with new, modern, stylish and nice facilities, such as a television, a dining table for four people, a simple kitchen and a shower room. Becaused the owner is very pround of this property, when he found our nervousness about a new place, he asked us to be relax and listen his introduction of this place and facilities first rather than exploring by ourselves.

Stayed in 2 properties held by Giardini, with a family of 4.The attic was cottage-like;above their own private residence;headroom was a problem for tall people to stay for long;had own fridge, hotplate, and provided with groceries to make breakfast-good food; rooftop views were unique;saw the Venetians wake up and buy their vegetables from boats nearby. Property a bit hard to find but in a real neighborhood of Venice, not the touristed area. Really enjoyed the parks between Giardini and Garibaldi( green is rare in Venice!) and found the vaporetto stop of Giardini was very convenient for most routes you would want.It is an easy walk to St. Mark's, along past some luxury yachts.Owners were welcoming and helpful. The second property was larger- 2 main rooms, full kitchen - no view. Both were clean, quiet, and comfortable. There were also some guidebooks to help find things in Venice.

If you want to see both touristic part of Venece and the real life of people living in Venice, I would recommend this B&B. There are not many travelers around here, but still easily accesible to downtown by bapolet.

After we had a confirmed reservation, Giardini found out that the room was already booked and they offered us an apartment at the same price a one minute walk away. We enjoyed being able to cook our own food. They gave us clear directions to find them via public boat and a five minute walk. Their B&B is right on a canal. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk to St. Marks square. We had an extra bedroom that we didn't need but had the plus of a kitchen.

We found the accomodations and location excellent. We could easily walk to St. Mark's and, yet, we were in a Venecian family neighbourhood. The family-run B & B was very comfortable and friendly.

It is an attic. You need to be careful not to bump your head but that is an attic. Roberto was very nice and helpful. It is an easy walk to all the main attractions of Venice. A bit pricey for what it is but overall soemthing different and pleasant for a few days stay.

I am from London and in my early fifties. I travel extensively on business, so I am very used to 4 and 5 stars hotel. When I looked for a place for a small holiday in Venice I wanted to try to stay within a low budget. B&B Giardini was recommended to me by a colleague, who was there with his wife and his 2 children. Marina is a fantastic host and I can honestely say I don't think I've had such value for money anywhere ever before. It's Marina's careful attention to her guest's needs that makes that extra bit of difference. She had sent excellent directions by email before my arrival, so the B&B was easy to find. It is very close to all the most important areas of Venice and to the "vaporetti", which made it easy to go around. Marina is happy to answer any question you have. Location couldn't be more convenient. There is a huge number of shops and eating places, including a wonderful supermarket. The view from the room is fantastic and what impressed me is that it's exactly what I saw in the website. The "calli" around the B&B are very caractheristic, full of people who live there and with no crowd of tourists. I will certainly go straight back here on my next visit to Venice and I will be recommending B&B Giardini to all my friends.

This is the place to be if you want to stay in Venice. The location near the exhibition of Modern Art "Biennale" and Arsenale, 15 minutes walking from St. Mark Square, couldn't be better. The price is absolutely convenient. Our room was a bit narrow, but a nice place where to stay, with many books and a wonderful view of the canal just in front of us. The host, Marina, was exceptionally friendly and went out of her way to make sure our stay in Venice was confortable. When we arrived late the first night, she called a local restaurant to ask them to stay open late so we could eat. She got us reservations for local museums. Staying at B&B Giardini is like having a local guide. You cannot beat this location. We will definetely return there if we have the chance to travel to Venice again.

An ideally situated accommodation. It is nice as a visitor to feel part of a community. Very clean flat and a warm welcome. Excellent communication prior to visit. Shops and restaurants on the door step. Very quiet. When we go again it will be our first choice. Lack of headroom could be a problem for the very tall.

I was at B&B Giardini for one night, but it was enough to find the accomodation enjoyable and pleasant. The room was clean and Roberto was a perfect host. I felt very welcomed and almost at home during my stay as Roberto was so helpful, personal and friendly. I recommend this B&B. If you are looking for convenience, this is definitely the place for you. Roberto is happy to answer all your questions. The modern art "Biennale" is literally 5 minutes walk away, St. Mark square just 15 mins walk, lots of shops and restaurants around. In a word it was a very nice surprise. Having stayed in a B&B before just sometimes, I found the place to be everything I expected. Therefore I highly appreciated my time in Venice, which was really fantastic.

Good location, 10 min walk to St Marks square. Good value. Small room for 4 people, not a lot of head room, However, fine for a few days. Lots of stairs, very steep set to loft, so try not to take too much luggage. Good value restuarants and bars on your doorstep. Would stay here again.

Our family of four was very comfortable at Giardini. The owner where friendly and helpful. The small town the Giardini was in was a nice base for our visit to Florence, and offered all the ammenities we needed (bank, groceries, train, and nice restraunts) nearby. The Quad room was actually two rooms upstairs with a cloth screen separating our end of the hall from the other rooms. Good value to price relationship, and recommended as an alternative to the croweds in Florence.

Quite easy to find and within walking distance to St Mark Square is a good location, but was disappointed..the room we got is actually a study room, full of books. The floor in the room is dusty but the toilet is clean. No breakfast provided and we cannot use the kitchen althought it said on the internet that kitchen can be use. But the owner of the house is quite friendly. Few dogs in the house, if u dun like dogs better dun choose to stay at Giardini.

Almost immediately upon booking, the host emailed me stating that he had double booked the attic but that he had another accomodation, just meters away, a small 2 bedroom apartment that he would give us for the same price. He met us at Giardini, the directions he sent were perfect, and in less than a 2 minute walk we arrived at the apartment. The stairway to enter the apartment was unfinished, and we referred to it as the dungeon. The apartment itself was not bad, very quiet and private. Breakfast was included in a do it yourself sort of way. The kitchen was stocked with eggs, bread, milk, juice, coffe and jam. The location was perfect, far from the crowded tourist areas in Venice but quickly accessible by Vaporetto. There is a wonderful Trattoria just meters from the apartment that was reasonable and really had the best food we found in Italy. I would stay here again.

We had a very good time, though briefer than we'd like, at Roberto's place. They're kind and welcoming, the room gave us all we needed to have good nigts' rest after long walks under a constantly very cold breeze in marvellous Venezia. Our visit to Venice would not have been as fantastic as it was if it wasn't for GIARDINI B&B. We loved staying in this property! As soon as you get off the vaporetto, you'll walk a tree lined street (adjacent to a park), and it'll open up to a small square. Giardini is just steps away, just as the canal starts. The room (the attic room) is charming and clean, equipped with a small kitchen, and a newly remodeled private bathroom (with a view of the canal). Roberto could not have been a kinder host who served a wonderful breakfast and made the best coffee we had throughout our whole entire trip in Italy. The walk to the main square is just 10 minutes away along the Grand Canal but along the way, you wil experience how the local Venetians live. This is 1 of the many advantages of staying at GIARDINI. As you step out, you'll come across the local fish/vegetable market parked on the water of the canal, a cafe is also just to the right of GIARDINI's front door, and as you walk on to their small square, you'll see all the residents taking their kids to school, walking their dogs, or taking a stroll in the tree lined street that lead to the park. Staying outside the tourist traps, you also have the advantage of dining out without spending an insane amount of money (since eating at Venice costs about double, if not triple of what you would normally pay in another Italian city). Check out OSTERIA AL GARANGHELO or the many sandwich cafes that line the square. We can't wait to go back to Venice, and when we do, we cannot imagine staying anywhere else.

B&B Giardini is a very good place where to stay. There are many facilities.

This was a large airy room with excellent en-suite facilities. It is an easy to find very Italian area with a canal boat market nearby, plenty of restaurants and not many tourists. The central tourist area is a 10 to 15 mins walk away. The self-catering breakfast was plentiful and easy to prepare. The host family were friendly but not intrusive, especially as we had to walk through the family living room to reach the attic accomodation.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The family that offers the accommodation is friendly and helpful, and the location was away from the main tourist attractions, but close to a waterbus (vaporetto) stop, which made it convenient and a nice break from the congestion of other areas. The low and sloping attic ceilings were a bit difficult, however, making it hard to stand upright anywhere other than the center of the room. Overall, a good option for those who would like to economize, cook some of their own meals, and avoid large masses of tourists.

Giardini is a great place to stay if you don't want to break the bank on a hotel in Venice. Hotels in Venice can be outrageously expensive and are rarely worth the price. Giardini is a great place to stay if you plan on being out and about in Venice all day and need a comfortable place to sleep at night. It can be a bit noisy in the front room, but it is kind of romantic to hear people chatting in Italian outside your window at night. The host was very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was intended for 1 person so was a bit cramped for 2 people. I would recommend staying in the attic room if you are travelling with a partner. Giardini is located in a residential area close to San Marco square. It takes you a bit away from the tourist areas and closer to bars and restaurants where locals hang out.

The location of Giardini is superb, down in Castello in the 'French Quarter' as remodelled by the Emporer Napoleon. Really typical Italian area with few tourists. Some excellent restaurants there, expesically the pizza/snack bar on the right as you approach the Grand Lagoon. Excellent pizza and house wine, 3 course meal and 1 litre of wine around 20 Euros. Overall a welcoming property, problem with breakfast being provided although a discount was offered. 10 mins from St Marks square, and 5 mins from the Arsenale. This is an ideal base for Venice and excellently priced when you consider the cheapest hotel rate I found on the spot was 100 euros.
