Hotel Reviews Ca' Bonvicini
Young couple
USA, Oct 2009
My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Ca' Bonvicini. The front desk lady Sabina was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated with a nice, modern bathroom. Our room had a balcony overlooking the canal, it was everything we had imagined Venice to be. Breakfast in our room was a special treat too. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who's looking for a great place to stay but not having to pay top dollars.

The hotel personnel were extremely helpful/patient, very accomodating, genuinely friendly/caring. However, hotel location left us wondering each morning if the sun was shining or not as it was so tucked in amongst other structures. No view out our window except a grey, stucco wall. The room was spacious but the bed left much to be desired as one side of the king pitched inward.

This B & B exceeded my expectations and was the best out all the hotels we stayed at in Italy! Well done to the staff.

The room is very clen and nice. Host is very kind. There are attractives in the vicinity of this property. But there are many allies in venice,so I wandered. Breakfast in the room is very good. I left my wallet in the room, and I got it back by courtesy of host.

Very lovely hotel, great surroudings (15min walk from the train station, 15min to the Riato bridge, another 15 to Saint-Marc square), the staff couldn't be nicer. I would only point out the breakfast that was a little bit too "industrial" (no home-made jam, orange juice etc) but overall it was an excellent stay, we would definitely come back to Ca' Bonvicini !

Anybody looking for a quiet, comfortable, nicely decorated bedroom should stay at Ca'Bonvicini. The B&B location is excellent : a genuine Venitian district with no flocks of tourists walking around, yet very close to all major Venice sights (a 5 to 10 minute walk). The B&B owner and staff are extremely pleasant and helpful.

Directions excellent and hotel conveniently situated. Rialto 7-8 mins, San Marco 15-20 mins. Also convenient for seeing all parts of the island. The spacious room in February was verging on 'chilly' as the heating did not fully warm the room. The bathroom looked stylish but the shower and handbasin were most impractical, breakfast was typical continental but 2 out of 5 mornings, they forgot the yoghurt!and the rooms are not soundproofed! However, it was very clean, beautifully decorated and a good central base.

This is our first visit to Venice staying for just one night on Nov 26th/07. We missed the boat to San Stea and arrived at the Realto bridge so the journey to the hotel is a bit far from here but the map provided to us was clear enough to take us there in one try !.Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a very pleasant male staff(cant recall his name)who then took us to room 702, the largest with a canal view. The room was awesome ! Large, clean, quiet and so so beautiful for a B&B standard. Toilets are big with 2 excellent shower head, we love it.. We would like to recommend to change the bed to a king size bed as this was a combined 2 single beds. The breakfast came sharp at 9am as requested.Excellent quality bfast with great aroma !!. The staff are very helpful and allowed us to put our luggage at the luggage area as our flight is late that evening. They are even kind enough to give us the main door key. Overall we rate this B%B as excellent and would recommend this hotel to anyone to stay in Venice as the rate, location, service, bathroom, breakfast and rooms are all excellent for a B&B standard or even the hotels !!! Just had a brilliant short stay at Ca Bonvicini. It's location is great only 10 mins to the Rialto Markets and Bridge and 5 mins from the S Stae Vaporetto stop. It was less touristy than staying in San Marco but just as accessible for all the major sights. Wandering in the local area was just great we found a couple of super restaurants within 5 mins walk just off the Campo S Paulo. Being here allowed you to feel as if you were seeing the real Venice. The only down side for some (not us) to this accommodation was the lack of public rooms/bar/breakfast room - breakfast is served in your room at a time to suit you. I have travelled widely and would be very happy to recommend Ca' Bonvicini to any other travellers.

First class B&B, the manager,Sabina superb, very accessible accomodation centrally located, but peaceful. I will return.

Good accommodation for someone considering a romantic get away to Venice. Directions to find Ca Bonvicini from San Stae ferry stop were very easy to follow and delivered us right to the door. Room presented very well, bathroom was modern and large, including the shower.

The reservation process went very smoothly. Sabina was present to greet us upon arrival. She was very helpful in securing restaurant reservations and directions to places on a map she gave us. We were asked what preferences we had for breakfast and it was honored and very prompt. This was a great location away from the busier and noisier tourist areas of Venice. We would stay at Ca' Bonvicini again.

Our stay at Ca' Bonvicini exceeded our expectations, and really enhanced our Venice experience. The location was perfect, and we were even lucky enough to get a room with a balcony overlooking the sleepy little canal. We would absolutely stay here again!

The accomadation was perfect for our visit. It was very central within easy walking distance to the water buses and St Marks square. It was like having the experience of Venice on your door step. The guest house was exceptionally clean and very welcoming. I would return again and stay at the same place as it was good value for the position.

The whole accomodation was more than satisfactory! The rooms were all newly and very tastefully decorated, clean and really spacious! Especially Sabina at the reception was very helpful and friendly. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was the fact we had to have our breakfast in our room instead of having it on the terrace above the roofs of Venice as "alluded" on one of the photos. This terrace belonged only to one of the rooms! But even strategically an optimal location! We would come back!!!

This is a wonderful place to stay in Venice. In our two weeks of travelling in Italy, it was the nicest and one of the most econonmical lodgings; clean, modern, spacious, and comfortable. Sabina at the reception desk was very helpful and welcoming. Would love to return to Venice just to stay here again.

We had a little problem finding the hotel (map a little poor) but this had more to do with the geography of Venice and it's intricate little streets. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and the room was fantastic. The hotel was excellently located for the river bus and only a few minutes from the Rialto Bridge. We had a fantastic stay in Venice and the hotel certainly contributed to this.

THIS WAS A LOVELY HOTEL BUT HARD TO FIND AS ALL IS IN VENICE. REMEMBER THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO BRING YOUR LUGGAGE QUITE A DISTANCE BUT ONCE WE GOT THERE IS WAS GREAT. OUR ROOM WAS VERY SMALL AND THERE ARE OTHER ROOMS THAT ARE LARGER. YOU MAY WANT TO ASK FOR ONE OF THOSE! THE AIRLINE LOST MY HUSBANDS LUGGAGE AND THE WOMEN AT THE FRONT COUNTER WAS OF GREAT HELP IN CONTACTING THE AIRLINES AND IT DID ARRIVE WHILE WE WERE HERE. THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY SMALL BY AMERICAN STANDARDS SO WE DID PURCHASE FRUIT AND YOGURT TO SUPPLEMENT. THE ROOM AS NEW AND VERY CLEAN AND QUIET. ON A QUIET CANAL WITH A TYPICAL BUT GORGEOUS VENETIAN VIEW!

My wife and I stayed here for our twenty fifth wedding anniversary in May 2005. We both enjoyed it very much and found the accommodation and staff very pleasant. The position of the bed and breakfast was ideal, not in the busy area but close enough for easy access. Would be very happy to stay here again.

The room was exellent and reasonably placed with respect to the sites. Finding the way to the hotel was easy and using the water taxi proved easy. The breakfast could be marginally improved. The service was exellent and the receptionist most helpful. Buy a map of Venice, this is vital.

This is one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in (Even better than many 5 star hotels). The quality of the room (including the ensuite) was excellent, I'm sure that this is the type of room that the Doge himself would have stayed in!! As with everything in Venice finding it is a little tricky but print out the map on the website and let that be your guide. My only regret is that I couldnt stay on for another night!

This "hotel" as stated on the website is a bed and breakfast. It was difficult to access from the grand canal with suitcases because of the amount of bridges (with stairs) that need to be crossed to reach the hotel. Rooms were clean, but bathrooms (especially the shower) were very small. Also, there are no elevators so taking suitcases up a few flights of stairs was not pleasant.

This place is the hidden gem of Venice accommodation. This place had absolutely everything I wanted and more. It is in a completely quiet location on a canal, so external noise is not an issue. It is situated a stones throw from the Rialto and Frari areas, and so is very central and transport around venice is very accessible. The room was unbelieveable - I would have paid twice what I paid to stay in this place. I took my girlfriend here to propose, and she didn't stand a chance staying in a place like this. The ultimate Venice hotel at a value for money price. Book it while you can.

When we were booking for Venice, we saw this place but were hesitant because there were no reviews on the hotel. We decided to take a chance based on the description and the photographs, and we are so glad we did! This place was a WONDERFUL hotel! It lived up to it's description and beyond. The rooms are incredible. They are large and spacious, finely appointed, beautiful, and have the latest upgrades you would expect from a complete renovation of the building. It was simply fantastic! We were so thrilled with this choice. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and charming place to stay. If you are looking for a hotel with full services, this isn't for you. It is very simple, a breakfast served to your room in the morning, at the hour of your preference. There are only 6 rooms. They give you a key to your room, and the front door, as the hosts are only there in the morning to serve breakfast, clean the rooms, and check guests in and out of the hotel. But, that was all we were looking for, a nice, clean place to stay, not a destination point, as Venice is what we went to see. We were definitely impressed with what we ended up enjoying here. It was fantastic. One correction we would offer. In the directions on the web site it suggests you can take either the #1 or #82 vaporetto to the Rialto stop and walk to the hotel. Yes, you can do that, but we ended up speaking to a tourist information center at the train station and they gave us exact directions on how to find the hotel. Without it, we probably would've spent a long time trying to find the place, so before you hunt for this place, get directions. The absolute best way to get there is to take the #1 vaporetto and stop at the S.Stae stop. From there it is a much shorter walk than from Rialto, and much easier. In summary, you cannot go wrong with this place. It is beautiful, the hosts are very charming and helpful, and if you aren't expecting a grand hotel experience, just a beauti

Perfect! Excellent and stylish little hotel / „Bed&Breakfast“ hidden behind a little wooden door in a small, historic townhouse! In a small lobby we were welcomed by a very friendly and young personnel und guided to our room. The hotel is very individual und exclusive with only 5 rooms (different sizes, each different, one with its own terrace on top of the roof!). Directly located at a small canal, very quiet, but only 5 minutes to the Rialto bridge. Rooms very tasteful and elegant with classic Empire furniture, wall covering with champagne-coloured silk like in an European castle! Very modern standard and impeccable like-new condition. We enjoyed a wonderful, delicious breakfast in our room (room service is standard, no restaurant). This is a “Bed&Breakfast” like a luxury hotel in the heart of venice! We were very satisfied and will certainly return! Wunderbar!

I have been recommending this hotel to my friends and family.
