We are a couple in our 40s and had reserved a room with a double bed. It turned out to be a room with a double and a single! In the room there was also a desk and chair, a fridge, a kettle with complimentary tea and instant coffee. There were two chairs as well. A bit cramped for space, but the room was very clean. The private bathroom was good too, but some rooms had a shared bathroom. Marco, the owner was very personable and works very hard. Great little breakfast served in the upstairs breakfast room--Marco serves it himself and you can have croissants, bread, melba toast-like things, cereal, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices. The location of the hotel is great--a short walk to the Rialto bridge (10min) and St. Mark's square (20min) and the hotel was easy to find with Marco's directions (find Campo S. Tomà on the map). We stayed in 3 different hotels in Venice and this was by far the best of the three. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this B&B to others.

An excellent place, both in price and quality, very comfortably allocated at the center of Venice, close to the "tragetto" and "vaporetto" transports (~150 meters to S. Toma, Grand Channel). Very limited for reservation yet (only 5-7 numbers at most as I noticed).

This was our fortieth wedding anniversary and we wanted to explore Venice for a couple of days before taking a 7 night cruise from Venice. The Bed and Breakfast Al Campaniel was very conveniently situated (near to the vaporetto stop San Toma and the traghetto). It was easy to walk to anywhere and to find again on return. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite was modern and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented. Marco was very helpful and competent. We would stay here again and recommend it unreservedly.

We stayed in this B&B during a short trip to Venice for our 10th wedding anniversary. We walked from Piazzale Roma, roamed for a bit, then once we figured out where we were, Al Campaniel was not too difficult to find. Marco met us on arrival, and due to our very shaky Italian, it was very reassuring that he spoke fluent English. Very simple, clean room with en-suite bathroom, in a great central location, with good rates in comparison to other establishments in central Venice. Marco ensures a personal service, even offering to go with us to ACTV office when we had a query with our pre-booked transport ticket. He will even meet you at the waterbus if you call him on arrival in Venice. Thanks Marco and we will certainly book again for our next trip.

The B and B was excellent, Marco was very welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. We were close to everything we could want, water bus, eateries, shops, sights etc etc. Extremely pleased with our accomodation and would recommend to anyone :)We had a twin bed room with aircon and private bathroom, it also had a small table and chairs near the window.

Booked this B&B having read the very good reviews and we weren't disappointed. It does exactly what it says on the tin and more. Location wise it was perfect, exactly 2 mins from the vaporetta stop and a 10 min stroll from the Rialto bridge. We got a double room with private shower which was very spacious and it was spotless. Normally the Italians have a coffee and pastry for breakfast but not here ! We were offered cereal or muesli with yogurt to start along with orange juice, then fresh bread with ham and cheese and finished off with croissants and coffee. We were very pleasantly surprised as this really set us up for the day. Both Marco and Jacquelin are very welcoming and friendly and can't do enough for you. The day we were leaving, our flight wasn't leaving until 9pm but Marco let us store our cases at the B&B and gave us a key to collect them when we were ready. This was a real bonus and invaluable as Venice is not the place to be dragging cases around ! I cannot recommend this B&b more highly and should i return to Venice, i will book again without hesitation.

Very nice, small and comfortable hotel, tastefully furnished, with real home atmosphere. Easy to find (important for Venice!). The superior room is spacious, with a "tea corner" and with bathroom accessed directly from the room. Abundant and varied breakfast is served in the breakfast-room (even with a terrace), on the 3th floor. Marco is extremely friendly and helpful. Next time we'll be sure to stay in the same hotel! The lack of TV and elevator does not matter for us.

Everything was perfect at al camppaniel, every mornung we were looking foreward to the rich breakfast with bred, jam, honey, nutella, joghurt, müsli and a lot of different bred, more than we could eat. as we were in venice at january, when we came back from our tours through venice, we loved to warm up in the wonderful shower in our new and clean bathroom. the room had a little fridge inside, and also a kettle, tea and instant coffee. when we checked out, we could leave some stuff in the guesthouse until our traindeparture and got a own key to pick our things up. nice surrounding, quiet area and a vaporettostation just around the corner. rooms in venice are always expensive, but for that we found the price quite okay and we were very satisfied!!! as we dont know the other rooms, we cant say anything for a familystay, but just ask for it. we will come back!

The was by far the best B&B we have ever stayed at. Our expectations were far exceeded! Our room was very clean and spacious and the location was perfect. Marco was a gracious host and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of - he even prepared our breakfast very early when we had an early train to catch. Marcos was great. The room and bathroom were so clean, even my wife was pleased. The breakfast was a bit meager compared to what we are used to (no meat or cheese, just bread, cereal and beverage), but we were very pleased with the value and location, and would both happily recommend it as well as stay there again.

Best B&B I ever stayed in! -expectations were high after reading the feedback received at venere.com and they were more than met! Wonderful quiet location 2 mins from St. Toma water-bus station which means you can reach everything easily. Room was bigger than expected, extremely neat, clean and cosy, including refrigerator and coffe+tea making facilities. Temperature was nice (we visited in mid November), breakfast was delicious and available as late as 10:30. Marco was a wonderful host and we couldn't be happier with our stay. Thanks Marco, from 2 happy Danes.

I was on holiday with a friend in Venice, and Al Campaniel was a perfect place we could have found in terms of price and location. Very well located, rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Marco, the owner, is extremely helpful and kind and makes you feel at home. In fact he went out of his way to help us in carrying heavy luggage, giving us train and vaporetto timings, and even though we were leaving in the morning before breakfast he left the breakfast tray in our room the previous evening. Only thing is that the bathrooms are small, but even then very clean! Strongly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Al Campaniel in December 05. Marco is great, and the rooms were very adequate. Mattress could have been more comfortable, but was not a big issue. The room was very quiet, and we did not miss the TV at all! The location is great, although we had some toruble finding the hotel the first day we arrived in Venice. Breakfast was good. Great value for price. We would definitely stay there again.Thanks,Marco.

This was one of the best stays of our entire 2 month trip! Marco was extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms were immaculate, as were the bathrooms. Rooms come with coffee maker, but there is really no need for it since the breakfast is so fulfilling. The location is very central, just a short walk to both San Marco and Rialto, but far enough away to experience some real Venetian life without the hoards of tourists. Will DEFINITELY stay at Al Campaniel when we return to Venice! Thanks, Marco!

ENG: We have been in "Al Campaniel" for 4 days and we have been welcomed kindly with Marco the boss (He speaks English too). The room (with a private bathroom) was clean (cleaning was performed the day before our departure) and big enough with air conditionning and a fridge. A cable TV would have been appreciated. "Al Campaniel" is very well located between the "Dursoduro" and "San Polo" area, the most interesting ones according to us, and ten minutes far from the crowded "San Marco" area through Vaporetto. The breakfast was great, especially, for the Frenchies we are, with Tea, Coffee, Croissants, bread.. An Address we would recommand..!

Marco, the proprieter was great! He was helpful in finding out information for us (he didn't know some info about Venetian specifics because he's a Roman). The breakfast was good- toast, cereal, pastries, coffee, tea, juice. We did have a difficult time finding the hotel because there was a transportation strike so no vaporettos! However, it is really close to the San Toma stop if the boats were running. Marco had sent us an email with directions either by walking or boat, but we were already on the road and didn't check our email.

We stayed all over Italy and Al Campaniel was our absolute favorite! We have already recommended it to friends and family traveling to Italy this year. Despite what others wrote we found it very easy to find. Simply take the #1 or #82 vaporetto, get off at S. Toma, walk straight until it dead ends (a short distance), and it's the 3rd door on your left. Very easy! Our room was fantastic! The bed was the most comfortable we slept in on our entire trip! It also has the bonus feature of a/c. Our bathroom was spacious and extremely clean. Marco has created a wonderfully warm environment. Contrary to what others wrote we loved the breakfast. It was warm croissants and sorted breads w/ jams, cereal or yogurt, juice, & tea or coffee. Marco serves your breakfasts which gives you a great opportunity to talk with him. He has such a warm and generous personality. He made us feel so welcome, even going above and beyond by booking our train tickets to Rome on-line for us so we wouldn't have to worry with them. Marco treats his guests like friends who have come to visit. I cannot say enough positive things about our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone. We can't wait to get back their ourselves!

Al campaniel is a wonderfully authentic Italian B&B. My mother and I loved it! The proprietor was very pleasant and went out of his way to help us with our questions. The room was big enough for two people, immaculate, and had a large, comfortable bed. The room we had was at the ground floor, bathroom in the opposite site of the corridor. The whole place is clean and tidy, it recalls in some way a french home. As with most places in Venice, it was hard to locate, however it was well worth the search. Clean and reasonably priced for Venice. Well located for exploring Venice. I am writing on behalf of friends for which I booked (I went to another hotel, beacuse of rooms availability). Location is excellent. RIght beside the Canal Grande, a couple of stops from San Marco and Rialto, very close to ferry stop. Very close to the small but lovely San Tomè square. Indications for location are v. good. Te lady/owner welcomed us at arrival and was very kind in providing us the keys ontime and flexible on timing of arrival/departure and luggages holding. Rooms (which I visited) were very clean and excellent for the price (59 Euros a double during Christams holidays!). Well and newly furnitured. My friends told me the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was available - maybe a problem to make coffee or tea with local tap water - but what do you expect? With the same price in London you can't even sleep on the broadwalk ;-). Room was silent, as it faced the internal court. In general they were very satisfied! Thanks to the owner hospitality! I strongly suggest it: you save money, have a good and comfortable room and you can spend the money in better ways visiting Venice.

We had a very nice stay in Venice at Al Campaniel. Marco is a wonderful host and always available to help. The B&B is in a very good, centralized location. Even though we knew when we made the reservation, it's a shame that there is no common area, especially since the room is not too spacious. We had a full day of rain, it would have been great to have a place to go to to relax (apart from a Café or a restaurant). Also, only one very bad note, don't count on the breakfast. It is not fresh and only consist in industrial wrapped stuff. Nothing fresh. That too wasn't a surprise, but I say it anyway... But we a had very good nights of sleep and bed is really comfortable.

When we finally found Al Campniel, it was lovely. I was the cleanest place we stayed in Italy and had a very good (in room) breakfast. The owner went out of his way to get uf ferry times, maps, and restaurants. He was great! Once you get the knack of direction in Venice, the location is no problem whatsoever. Very close to a vaporetto stop. I did, however, wander around for a half hour trying to find it the first time.

The owners are very helpful and friendly. The room was not spacious, but very neat and clean. The bathroom was next to the room and also very clean. The location is easy to find, and you will not need more than 2 minutes to reach it from the Vaporetto-station San Toma. The lack of air-conditioning in the room is alleviated by a ventilator during hot summer days. No breakfast is served. I can recommend to choose "Al Campaniel".

Our two day stay in Venice at Al Campaniel was very enjoyable. When we arrived, we were greeted by Marco who showed us our room and gave us the necessary information to get around. The room was very clean and spacious. The location is perfect since it is not on a high traffic street. This is great if you don't want to be awaken by masses of tourists walking the streets. The walk from the train station only took 10-15 minutes so it's perfect for those who have light luggage. The breakfact was awful for a bed and breakfast but that was our only real complaint and it wasn't that big of a deal for us who don't eat a big breakfast anyway. We would definately stay at Al Campaniel on our next trip to Venice.

I had read other reviews prior to going to I was aware to expect only a few biscuits, croissants etc as breakfast. However given that pastries seem to be the breakfast of choice of Venecians - I don't feel that this was inappropriate. The room was spotlessly clean (which was very refreshing after having stayed in not-so-good accomodation in Rome) and the air-conditioning was excellent. I thought the location was good too - about 10 mins to Rialto (through lots of quaint alleys / streets) and 20 to San Marco. Excellent value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accomodation.

In a city where you pay a premium for low quality, this place is a JEWEL. The host speaks very good English and is more patient and kind than any hotel I've visited in Venice. We enjoyed our stay at Al Campaniel. The room was lovely and much more modern than we had anticipated. There is some noise based on the fact that we overlooked the street but could block it out by closing the windows. I would stay here again!

High quality accommodation with a superb location at a low price. Tastefully furnished, clean and spacious guest room with private w/c and shower across the hall. Occasional slight odour from the drains outside after a day of having the window open but these were quickly dispelled by the ceiling fan. Extremely quiet despite being 1 minute from vaporetto stop. Very close to shops, restaurants and sites. A few cakes and biscuits with kettle for breakfast, no breakfast room or sitting room. Host didn't seem very friendly, though and could have been more welcoming. He didn't offer info on nearby sites or shopping and wasn't chatty like you expect at a British B&B. The host spoke superb English. Still we would stay again and definitely recommend this to others.

We really enjoyed our stay at Al Campaniel. It has a great location on a quiet street, very close to a vaporetto stop. The proprietor spoke excellent English and was able to make restaurant recommendations. We'll definately recommend Al Campaniel to friends traveling to Venice.

Master is very heartful. A room and shower room are based on white walls, small but pretty. It is very convinence for taking waterbus: only 2 minites walk. A restaurant near Al campaniel guest house has a reasonable menu and good taste.
