Bed & Breakfast Rialto - Venice

Wonderful views of the canal but unfortunately there was very little sleep to be had due to fish market noise that started @ 4 am, very loud followed by balcony construction noise.

If we are ever able to revisit Venice we will definitely stay at the "Bed & Breakfast Rialto". It is,as stated, on the Grand Canal just a short walk from The Rialto Bridge. Our room was spacious and appeared to be very close to being new constuction. I understand the building was built in the 1600's, but you will never know it from the interior of your room. The young man who maintained the place was very freindly and very helpful.

I regularly stay in Venice. The B&B Rialto has comparatively: larger room, better bed, good A/C, great staff. Highly recommended -- I'll stay here the next time I'm in Venice.

We stayed in one of the guest rooms that used the shared bathroom and found this to be no problem for the two nights we were there. The room is a typical European size room with a double (queen in USA) bed, TV, and a wardrobe in the room. The bathroom is across the hall from the two rooms that share it. You do have to use a stairway to access the rooms, there is no lift due to the age of the building. The breakfast consisted of a tray of refrigerated items (milk, juice, cheese, yougurt, etc.) and a bowl of pre-packaged non-refrigerated items (croissant, bread, snack cakes, jam, muffin, etc.) each day. Cereal and fresh fruit were also available. There was plenty of food and we ended up having breakfast and a snack from it each day. There was also an espresso maker available at all times. The hotel was located right next to the market on the Grand Canal, but in general we found this location quieter and less travelled (less touristy) than others throughout the city. The B&B was very convenient to all the landmarks (5 min from Rialto Bridge and 15 min from St. Marks area), and a vaporetto stop was 2 min walk away. We really enjoyed it and would definitely stay here again.
