This B and B represents great value for money. It was spotless, comfortable and well located. Freddie was warm and informative. Picky people could say the breakfast could be better, or the bathroom bigger, but at this price for a room in Venice, you won't hear me complaining about anything at all.

Cute little place that is fairly well located. It's on the main level which is good, but the canal is right next to the bedroom so it's rather noisey due to boats using the canal. Bathroom is clean and useful but very narrow. Overall a nice little suite.

nice welcome, good informations if you ask, just round the corner from grand canal's vaporetto and santa lucia station, window on a little canal, fresh italian bread every morning at 8h30, good cofee, wifi, hot water, heating for bads days, good bed, ... only good things to say.

We did arrive late and owner was at St. Marcuola to meet us and show us the way, otherwise would be hard to find as no names or#'s on bldg's. Breakfast was do it yourself and only coffee, juice and bread available. It was a good location is the best we can say. Our room was not ready so we had to move the next day. The room he gave us had bath in hall and we specifically reserved the en suite as wife is handicapped. We were there 2 days, our first time in Venice before a cruise, and we loved Venice. Would look for a different place to stay next time.

Our host Freddy was very warm and welcoming. It is an awesome location for all the sights, just off the main thoroughfare so it was not noisy at night. I would recommend this B&B for young couples or travellers. (the bathroom was a little tight for older or heavyset people, as with most european bathrooms) we had a great experience and would stay here again without looking around

I loved this B&B just 10 minutes walking distance to rail station and a short walk to vaporetto stop. My room tastefully furnished with windows overlooking a canal; bathroom clean and modern but, although for my use only, lacks privacy and convenience being outside the bedroom; small kitchen has fridge and hotplate with pots and dishes, very nice for preparing your own food. It was the most expensive accommodation on my trip through to Florence and Rome, but glad of the experience - felt like I was staying in a Venetian house.

Very nice little hotel (3 rooms) in a privet property behind the Santa Marcuola chirch. Rooms rather small but very neat and renovated. Common kitchen with all appliances (including stove and fridge) where you can not only have breakfast but also supper. 50 meters from St Marcuola station and about 10-15 min walk from Rialto bridge.

Very nice welcome, picked us up at Vaporetto San Marcuola. Near the center, 200m from Canal Grande, quiet location. Old house, but inside is well renovated, everything was working properly including shower and kitchen. Breakfast was fine. Recommended for everyone but "princesses".

Told them to expect a late arrival and we finally arrived from Mestre at 9pm. Told us to catch the waterbus to second stop but being unaware of the schedule and being tired we caught the wrong bus and anded up at St Marks Square.By the time we had got directions to get to the B & B we had a grand tour of the Grand Canal and only arrived at the correct stop at 11pm. All the while we kept in touch with the owner and his daudghter went on a few trips to meet us and we didnt arrive. They were very patient and got us safely into the b& B much to our relief. Otherwise Venice was great.

Convenient for vaporetto and comfortable. Not staffed, because B & B but arrangements for access worked well and no problem about leaving luggage after check-out time. Simple but adequate breakfast included. Good value for Venice. Would be happy to stay there again.

Were told to call a few days before arrival and when arrived.Glad we did.Met at vaporetter stop by manager luckily as we would not have found it ourselves. In Venice most of places have no advertising signs they are a hotel. This was on ground floor of residential building.Tiny sign on door at front.Breakfast was average.A bread roll and jam and cup of tea.Very clean though and close to restaurants ,boats.Have baby cots

Had difficulty finding this b&b. The directions from the airport indicated a train to the water bus when in fact it was an express bus. We arrived on Sun night and had just missed a bus so had to wait an hour for the next one. It would have been helpful to say the tickets for the bus have to be purchased in the airport as the automatic machine wasn't working. We were not alerted to the fact that no staff lived on the site & that you need to ph when you arrive so someone can meet you. We thought we had seen a photo of the entrance on the website but as we had made several bookings were mistaken. In all it took us about 3 hours to get into our room. We gave the manager ideas for improvements to the website.

The location of Il pallino di arianna was perfect for touring. The break- fast was just right. The community room was cosy with all utensils that were needed. Our bedroom was right on the canal. Enjoyed watching boats come by. Easy access to transport. both vaporetto, train station.

The apartment is quiet there are only 3-4 rooms. We were told that there is a private bath, but the bath was outside of the room(which was ok since there was no one else there otherwise it might have been annoying). The owners were very nice met us at the bus stop even though the apartment is a 15 min or less walk from the train station. It was a little scetchy at night (1-2am) due to the narrow strees, poor lighting and no ppl. Breakfast that was included consisted of some stail bread and canned orage juice. Apartment was clean, easy to find once you know where it is. The bathroom was a little cramped with the toilet face being almost right next to the wall.

Il Pallino di Arianno was definitely beautiful. The B&B is rather small however they have set it up so that it is very comfy and homely. The people next to us were rather noisy when coming and going but that is not the owners fault, that is just inconsiderate people and should not make you change your mind about staying at this B&B. The owner's daughter is so friendly. We were a little stuck working out which building was the B&B when we first got there but were lucky enough to have the daughter (and I apologise that I have forgotten her name) come up to us and ask if we were looking for her B&B. She then walked us in, showed us our room and introduced us to the breakfast area, etc. I can not express enough how wonderful and friendly she was. We were very interested in staying close to the rail station as we arrived and left by train. If this is your intention then Il Pallino di Arianna is brilliant. There is a point just outside the front door (pretty much) that you are able to catch vaporetta number 1 which takes you down the canal. Very convenient as you don't have far to walk each time you want to travel around the various islands. Would be a little easier if the B&B had a reception? We were very lucky to bump into the daughter and I can see how a lot of people have had trouble finding the place because there are no signs and it is a little hidden. Found it hard because you're supposed to call to say what time you would arrive however my international card was not set up to make phone calls - only receive.

The B&B is set in a quiet garden square, very convenient for the waterbus , main station and shops and restaurants. The only noises were the lapping of the water under the bedroom window and the boats being moored there. The bedroom was very clean, good linens, huge and comfortable bed and the en suite had all the facilties we expected. It was simple accomodation but with very good modern electrical equipment - silent air conditioning/heating and compact modern en suite; good value for money in Venice. The owner was very caring and friendly. He went out of his way to meet us and provided delicious fresh bread for the simple breakfast. We were free to come and go as we pleased, and were encouraged to use the facilities of the kitchen during the day if we needed them. The kitchen/ breakfast area facilities have to be shared with one or two other guests and this is homely but was pleasant. Thank you Freddie!

Owner's daughter met us at the boat taxi stop. We would have never found the place without assistance. Our private bath was outside our room which became very annoying since the other guest room was an arms length across from ours. If you open our bathroom door, the other ppl in the guest room cannot get out of theirs. You can only lock your room with a key from the inside, so if you want to take a slash in the middle of the night you have to unlock your door, unlock your bathroom, try to pee quietly, run to your room and lock it. Also, our room was right next to the canal. So at 4am, boats gondolas and whomever are chugging away. Biggest complaint was when the cleaning lady came in and knock on our door at 11am. Jetlagged (from NY) my gf and I wanted to sleep in. Next thing I know the owner's wife is knocking on our door saying, "The cleaning lady has time table! It's 11am, IT IS LATE!!". WTF! I paid 200 Euros (cash only) up front for 2 nights. If I want to sleep in, leave me the F alone. Close your windows at night in Venice. The monster mosquitos will terrorize your dreams....

It was a very clean room, next to the water! Less than a half minute to the waterboat station. The employees were very flexible and competence. The only negative thing was that we had a apartment with bath room in the hall, where also the kitchen was and all parties do eat. So wad had to look if someaone "walks" around when we wanted to use the bathroom in the morning after standing up. But it was the only apartment of three, that has the bath in the hall without a direct door from the bedroom. However ist was a very excellent stay!

Very clean and comfortable B&B. Flexible and informal breakfast arrangement. Nobody in attendance unless you request by phone, apart from bread delivery 8am, but his probably keeps price down. By Venetian standards fairly cheap, but I think could have been cheaper. Discrepancy occurred through online booking. I thought I'd booked en-suite room, but turned out to be separate bathroom. Should have been cheaper because of this, but I would hve preferred to have what I booked.

Just great: if you want the little bit of typical Italian / Venecian real life and not to crowded surroundings - this is the place to be! From the ferry to the accomodations it's only a few steps (maybe 50 mtrs.) and there is not a single staircase you have to carry your luggage over - THAT is something special in venice, where you see people over the place, totally exhausted hauling around their suitcases. Enjoy your stay everybody! Thank you very much! Anna & Dirk

The place is excellent if you're on a budget, i.e., safe, walking distance to main points of interest and clean. However, we did have a private bathroom which was clean, but located in the hallway in front of the breakfast area... Also the building next door seems to be under renovation/construction, and they like to start working early!!!

1. BR: Good size and fearly clean 2. Bath: Too small; dirty around the shower; dirty "drying wood", for towels; no dryer 3. Entry Door to Building: Dirty; noisy; mildew sell 4. Door to Kitchen facility: Hard to open; poor shape 5. Breakfast: Skimpy; no choice of menu; you need coffe or tea, YOU have to do it 6. No Air Conditioning. No sign to the place (it took us 1 hour to find it). No employee on premises. Communication: by phone (cel?) 7. Price: Extremely dishonest price vs. value. I will not pay more than 35 EUROS for it. 8. Arianna: Smart young "owner" or "owner to be". She must do better than this 9. VENERE: Surprise you do not "test" these places before you offer them to the public. 10. WE WERE EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE ENTIRE STAY IN VENICE AT THE "Il Pallino di Arianna" and VENERE's offer. We felt insulted (sort of DECEIT). We do not think this "albergho" is "legit". Sincerely, Ned and Pari Chiavari

This B&B has only three rooms: if you stay in No.1 - you are lucky! Your bathroom will be accesible directly from the room (unlike room No. 2) and you'll have your windows overlooking the canal (unlike the room No. 3). The location is excellent, quiet and just 10 steps (literally) from San Marcuola vaporetto stop. Rooms are spatious, which is pretty surprising, as Italian hotels and B&B tend to offer shoeboxes rather than rooms. This is an exception. Recommended!

The property would not be difficult to find if simple directions were given. The phone number given for contact to gain entrance was not in operation. After at least a 45 min. search we eventually found the building, but no answer, and we were about to give up when a young woman with a dog showed up and let us in. The room we were given had its own bathroom but this was in a neighboring room out in the hall, so that for privacy you had to unlock the door to get in, and then use the same key to lock the door behind you. Breakfast was do-it-yourself, and consisted of packaged cakes, make yourself toast and instant coffee or tea. The breakfast room was just outside two of the apparently 3 bedrooms, so no privacy as we went to and from our bathroom.

The private bathroom, requested and paid for was not so. We had to leave our bedroom and go to a bathroom leading from the communial area. The breakfast was very poor. On the Sunday we never even had any rolls. Breakfast was a small can of orange juice, a very small piece of cake and one cup of tea(only one tea bag per person provided)I do not think the photo on the web site was that of the property, it looked very different.
