Nice and comfortable B&B, silent and with friendly hosts. Ideally located just between Giardini and Arsenale, if you are in Venice for the Biennale. The Loft is comfortable, clean and not expensive comparing with the current prices in this time in Venice. Wooden ceilings with bright sky windows. You can cook something by yourself without extra-charge. Tipical italian area with few tourists, except visitors of Biennale. All in all a good experience.

My wife and I spent two days in the attic at B&B Giardini. Owners were very helpful. Marina was born in Venice and she gave us many suggestions about what to see in only two days and where to eat at accessible prices. Her husband is an excellent host and he was very kind in inviting us to have a glass of wine in the evening in the terrace. Very comfy double bed with wardrobe, drawers and bookcase; fridge and electric stove; air conditioning and wi fi; ensuite bathroom with window that overlooks a canal and the tower of Arsenale: a typical Venetian corner. The wooden ceilings are sloping, some caution should be taken in certains parts of the loft, but my wife and myself had no problems. Our breakfast options included cereals, orange juice, croissants which were tasty and were left on the table for us. The location of Castello neighbourhood is very convenient to reach all the main sites, but away from tourist-filled streets. It's the home of many local Venetians, near a big park and a daily fruit market. We throughly enjoyed our stay there.

We had planned to stay at a hotel in via Garibaldi where we had stayed a few times before, but the hotel prices had sky rocketed, so we searched for a B&B nearby and we came across the B&B Giardini. What a find; compared with most places we had stayed at in Venice, this B&B is great value for money, easy to get to and easy for visiting Venice either on foot or with rides on the vaporetti water buses. The attic was well furnished, charming and bright. From the window you could see a little canal and the typical narrow streets of Venice. Breakfast was the usual fare, everything you needed set out for you in the fridge and on the stove. Having a free access to the stove was a real bonus as we were able to make a nice cup of tea any time of the day and drink in the terrace. Air conditioning is available, as well as internet connection, but was not necessary during our stay. The hosts, Marina and Roberto, are charming and friendly and it was fun to interact with them. The area is very quiet and we really had the feeling that we were living in Venice, not just tourists.

We had the loft at B&B Giardini. The host, Marina, was very kind to offer us for the same price the indipendent apartment close to the B&B, which was available as well. But we preferred the loft and it was a good choice. The ceiling is a bit low, but the atmosphere is special. As stated by Marina, it's a little niche full of hospitality. It's clean and comfortable. The loft has ancient, handcut exposed beams and is furnished with a small kitchen which has everything you need if you want to cook your meals. There is a bit of climb up into the loft, but you easily get used to it. Breakfast is simple but adequate. Excellent communication with Marina before arriving. A very good place to stay if you want to feel at home. We could also enjoy the terrace, where we had our breakfast. The price is very convenient comparing with other hotels or B&B. Marina gave us many suggestions about restaurants and places to see. Furthermore, the loft is very close to the gardens of Biennale Art exhibition. The location is perfect. Via Garibaldi shows a real Venetian life, with people sitting and talking in the bars. St. Marco is 15 minutes walking far. All in all, we had a great time and we would love to come again.

We spent three days in the loft of the B&B Giardini. The loft is spacious and very characteristic. It has beamed ceilings and two rooftop skylights from which enters a lot of light. From the bathroom there is a nice view of a canal and of a typical Venetian street. In the end, it is a very romantic location, far from the type of hotel where plastic reigns. Certainly, it is not appropriate for guests who want the standard treatment of that type of hotel. Although the building is antique, like almost all the buildings in Venice, it offers modern comforts like the use of a computer and air conditioning. Another very enjoyable thing was that the terrace was made available to us, and it is located directly under the stairs to the loft. The breakfast is normal, but the owners asked if we desired anything extra. Additionally, guests can use the electric stove if they want to cook something fast, for lunch or dinner, not a small thing with the price of dining out in Venice. We were able to observe the life of a typical Italian family through various conversations that we had with the owners, who were very nice and approachable. The neiborhood is peaceful and has many restaurants, cafes and supermarkets.

We (2 adults and 2 adolescents) enjoyed our stay at B&B Giardini. It is a quiet B&B in a beautiful part of Venice, away of mass-tourism but at the same time on walking distance to the city. The owners were very kind and helpful. We felt like being at home and we recommend this B&B to everyone who is looking for a non-formal solution in a beautiful city.

We had an attic room, of which we were informed before by series of email from the people owing the property (which were re-emailing if did not receive the response within a day). Even for myself 160 cm tall it was not possible to stand up in the flat, but well, fairly enough we were warned. To get up there, you have to pass through the living room of people living there and climb ladder-like stairs (luggage and children not recommended). It was not the cleanliest place with very old appliances and noisy fridge in the room. Very poor breakfast (some cheap croissants, yoghurts, bread, juice and coffee to prepare yourself). The girl that was staying at home during the time we were there (owners were absent) invited friends over till late at night. Since there is no proper door of the room you can hear everything. The only very good thing is location, away from the tourist-busy streets, all you need (supermarket, bars, restaurants) nearby.

Roberto and Marina were quite gracious hosts. Very attentive and helpful. We weren't sure what to expect having never been to Italy before. We stayed in the attic room which was different but very functional. The location was perfect. Close enough to walk to everything but quiet and comfortable. Having air conditioning was great as well . Would definitely stay again and recommend!

B&B Giardini was recommended to us by friends who were there 2 years ago. This was our 4th visit to Venice, we have stayed in nice hotels, but this was our favorite location. Our stay was exactly as we imagined. The owners are very friendly and willing to accomodate late arrivals. Everything is modern and clean altough a microwave would be useful. The TV made us feel like at home. We liked watching the typical and quite Venetian "calle" below and people moving around. We felt like we were experiencing Venice from the local perspective. We were in a real neighbourhood with lots of restaurants, supermarket, bar and access to Giardini gardens. Marina, who runs B&B Giardini, provided lots of advice in terms of showing us directions and places to dine. B&B Giardini is ideal for the discerning traveller who wants to see a side of Venice that many tourists will miss.

Like stated from the owner, it's a penthouse which was recently modernized, warm and lies in a residents' area with nice prices for the substinence. If you're flexible, the room should be no problem. Bread, Coffee, Tea, Juice, Joghurt, Butter, Jam, Cake is offered. But you have to warm up the bread and do the coffee yourself. Also you will find a variety of cooking dishes in case you want to try it by yourself. The people are nice, speak English, and the area silent. However, you have just to go around a quarter hour to the city center (S. Marco) or the other side of the island. Also you will find a supermarket and other specialized shops directly at the house or within 3 minutes walk. All in all, we (1.80m) are satisfied and think that the price is more then fair for this location in Venice.

We had a great time at GiardiniBB. It was clean, it was very good, we felt very confortable, the hosts were very kind and ready to answer to our requests. The environment is the best you could wish for. Giardini is situated in the Castello region. You will not yet find many tourists there. The bakery around the corner has wonderful fresh bread early in the morning and the oranges at the market in the canal are the best we ever tasted. We had dinner at" Lhombre" several times. The only place that didn't screw up the bill.Very good food!

Nice price, nice room, nice place. The hotel locates in the eastern part of island, but you can easily get to the hotel and central places by ferry or walking. The ferry usually works until late and it's very common transportation, so the location was not problem at all.

a very very fine place to stay. Very silent, very friendly hosts. Although an attic room there's no problem with the room temperature, the air condition works well. Staying for the biennale? A good place just in the middle between Giardini and Arsenale. 3 minutes to the vaporettos. More than italian breakfast and you can use the balcony of the family as well. There's also a small possibility to do your own coffee. Thanks for the nice stay Roberto!

A very good place to stay if you are looking for a place where to feel at home and cheap comparing with the average rates in Venice. Hosts are really helpful. They use to recommend best places where to go or to eat and make you feel part of the community. Room and en/suite bathroom are very clean and cooking facilities are a great thing, specially if you don't want to eat outside every day. The B&B is located in an area of Venice where venetians live, full up of stores, supermarkets and small and nice restaurants. The location is near the exhibition of modern art "Biennale" and "Arsenale" and very close to all the most important places to see. We would certainly recommend this accomodation.

The room is alone situated in other building, which is more closer to the Great Canal than the main property. It is newly furbished and eqipped with new, modern, stylish and nice facilities, such as a television, a dining table for four people, a simple kitchen and a shower room. Becaused the owner is very pround of this property, when he found our nervousness about a new place, he asked us to be relax and listen his introduction of this place and facilities first rather than exploring by ourselves.

Stayed in 2 properties held by Giardini, with a family of 4.The attic was cottage-like;above their own private residence;headroom was a problem for tall people to stay for long;had own fridge, hotplate, and provided with groceries to make breakfast-good food; rooftop views were unique;saw the Venetians wake up and buy their vegetables from boats nearby. Property a bit hard to find but in a real neighborhood of Venice, not the touristed area. Really enjoyed the parks between Giardini and Garibaldi( green is rare in Venice!) and found the vaporetto stop of Giardini was very convenient for most routes you would want.It is an easy walk to St. Mark's, along past some luxury yachts.Owners were welcoming and helpful. The second property was larger- 2 main rooms, full kitchen - no view. Both were clean, quiet, and comfortable. There were also some guidebooks to help find things in Venice.

After we had a confirmed reservation, Giardini found out that the room was already booked and they offered us an apartment at the same price a one minute walk away. We enjoyed being able to cook our own food. They gave us clear directions to find them via public boat and a five minute walk. Their B&B is right on a canal. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk to St. Marks square. We had an extra bedroom that we didn't need but had the plus of a kitchen.

I am from London and in my early fifties. I travel extensively on business, so I am very used to 4 and 5 stars hotel. When I looked for a place for a small holiday in Venice I wanted to try to stay within a low budget. B&B Giardini was recommended to me by a colleague, who was there with his wife and his 2 children. Marina is a fantastic host and I can honestely say I don't think I've had such value for money anywhere ever before. It's Marina's careful attention to her guest's needs that makes that extra bit of difference. She had sent excellent directions by email before my arrival, so the B&B was easy to find. It is very close to all the most important areas of Venice and to the "vaporetti", which made it easy to go around. Marina is happy to answer any question you have. Location couldn't be more convenient. There is a huge number of shops and eating places, including a wonderful supermarket. The view from the room is fantastic and what impressed me is that it's exactly what I saw in the website. The "calli" around the B&B are very caractheristic, full of people who live there and with no crowd of tourists. I will certainly go straight back here on my next visit to Venice and I will be recommending B&B Giardini to all my friends.

This is the place to be if you want to stay in Venice. The location near the exhibition of Modern Art "Biennale" and Arsenale, 15 minutes walking from St. Mark Square, couldn't be better. The price is absolutely convenient. Our room was a bit narrow, but a nice place where to stay, with many books and a wonderful view of the canal just in front of us. The host, Marina, was exceptionally friendly and went out of her way to make sure our stay in Venice was confortable. When we arrived late the first night, she called a local restaurant to ask them to stay open late so we could eat. She got us reservations for local museums. Staying at B&B Giardini is like having a local guide. You cannot beat this location. We will definetely return there if we have the chance to travel to Venice again.

Our family of four was very comfortable at Giardini. The owner where friendly and helpful. The small town the Giardini was in was a nice base for our visit to Florence, and offered all the ammenities we needed (bank, groceries, train, and nice restraunts) nearby. The Quad room was actually two rooms upstairs with a cloth screen separating our end of the hall from the other rooms. Good value to price relationship, and recommended as an alternative to the croweds in Florence.

Almost immediately upon booking, the host emailed me stating that he had double booked the attic but that he had another accomodation, just meters away, a small 2 bedroom apartment that he would give us for the same price. He met us at Giardini, the directions he sent were perfect, and in less than a 2 minute walk we arrived at the apartment. The stairway to enter the apartment was unfinished, and we referred to it as the dungeon. The apartment itself was not bad, very quiet and private. Breakfast was included in a do it yourself sort of way. The kitchen was stocked with eggs, bread, milk, juice, coffe and jam. The location was perfect, far from the crowded tourist areas in Venice but quickly accessible by Vaporetto. There is a wonderful Trattoria just meters from the apartment that was reasonable and really had the best food we found in Italy. I would stay here again.

Our visit to Venice would not have been as fantastic as it was if it wasn't for GIARDINI B&B. We loved staying in this property! As soon as you get off the vaporetto, you'll walk a tree lined street (adjacent to a park), and it'll open up to a small square. Giardini is just steps away, just as the canal starts. The room (the attic room) is charming and clean, equipped with a small kitchen, and a newly remodeled private bathroom (with a view of the canal). Roberto could not have been a kinder host who served a wonderful breakfast and made the best coffee we had throughout our whole entire trip in Italy. The walk to the main square is just 10 minutes away along the Grand Canal but along the way, you wil experience how the local Venetians live. This is 1 of the many advantages of staying at GIARDINI. As you step out, you'll come across the local fish/vegetable market parked on the water of the canal, a cafe is also just to the right of GIARDINI's front door, and as you walk on to their small square, you'll see all the residents taking their kids to school, walking their dogs, or taking a stroll in the tree lined street that lead to the park. Staying outside the tourist traps, you also have the advantage of dining out without spending an insane amount of money (since eating at Venice costs about double, if not triple of what you would normally pay in another Italian city). Check out OSTERIA AL GARANGHELO or the many sandwich cafes that line the square. We can't wait to go back to Venice, and when we do, we cannot imagine staying anywhere else.

We are extremely satisfied with B&B Giardini. With the kitchen we were able to make some meals and thus save on always eating out. The hosts are kind, helpful and humorous. We enioyed our stay there and would go back.

The family host was friendly and the location was quite. The B&B is closed to the garden area, laguna beach, St. Mark square and the Biennale site for architecture and modern art exhibition. You can escape from the tourist crowds and enioy watching everyday life of people.

Thanks to the hosts for all the attentions they had. Moreover, they gave us the oportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture. The fridge was always generously filled and the room was confortable and absolutely silent at nights.

B&B Giardini is a very good place where to stay. There are many facilities. You can even cook your own meal in the small kitchen upstairs and that can be a good idea specially considering the prices of the restaurants in Venice. The location is wonderful. It's very near St. Mark square, but out of the crowd of tourists.

We have spend in "Giardini" only one night, so we do not know so much about the hotel and facilities of it. We were in Venice for visiting the Bienalle, so the location of the hotel was excelent. The price was also excelent in Venice.

This was a large airy room with excellent en-suite facilities. It is an easy to find very Italian area with a canal boat market nearby, plenty of restaurants and not many tourists. The central tourist area is a 10 to 15 mins walk away. The self-catering breakfast was plentiful and easy to prepare. The host family were friendly but not intrusive, especially as we had to walk through the family living room to reach the attic accomodation.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The family that offers the accommodation is friendly and helpful, and the location was away from the main tourist attractions, but close to a waterbus (vaporetto) stop, which made it convenient and a nice break from the congestion of other areas. The low and sloping attic ceilings were a bit difficult, however, making it hard to stand upright anywhere other than the center of the room. Overall, a good option for those who would like to economize, cook some of their own meals, and avoid large masses of tourists.

Nice place to stay for one or two nights. it a private bed & breakfast place within the flat of the owner. a very friendly woman, her husband and two dogs. The place is situated a little aside the main tourist route, but still in the old venice and only about 10 min. to walk from st. marcus square.

Located off the tourist track in a quiter part of Venice, but that was the only highlight. Owner is somewhat sketchy, chased us down the stairs in the morning wondering if we had paid. Breakfast was make yourself with supplies provided (a real dissappointment). Not highly recomended rooms were clean, but the service was very questionable.

Giardini is a great place to stay if you don't want to break the bank on a hotel in Venice. Hotels in Venice can be outrageously expensive and are rarely worth the price. Giardini is a great place to stay if you plan on being out and about in Venice all day and need a comfortable place to sleep at night. It can be a bit noisy in the front room, but it is kind of romantic to hear people chatting in Italian outside your window at night. The host was very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was intended for 1 person so was a bit cramped for 2 people. I would recommend staying in the attic room if you are travelling with a partner. Giardini is located in a residential area close to San Marco square. It takes you a bit away from the tourist areas and closer to bars and restaurants where locals hang out.

As Venice is known for high prices, the relationship is Ok; but for any other location the relationship between price and quality would not be satisfying

the b & b was very easy to find with the map provided. The room was very large, clean & comfortable with ensuite facilities. The location was ideal being off the tourist track but only a 10 min stroll along the waterfront to St marks square. The vaperetto stop was a 5 min walk with seating normally available due to being just out side central Venice. My only slight gripe was that being an attic room the ceilings were a bit low in places due to myself being over 6ft tall.all in all highly recommended.

B&B Giardini is a superb location. The Attic is big confortable and you can even cook there by yourself without extra-charge ! Garibaldi Street is one of the most attractive streets of Venice, full up of good and cheap small restaurants. The hosts, Roberto and Marina, were ready to satisfy every need. Overall it's a B&B excellently priced comparing with the current prices in Venice.

Very welcoming and nice hosts. Excellent location, very central but in a non touristic corner. Feels typical italian with fish shop and (swimming) fruit market just in front of the door. The room under the roof is relatively spacious, but the ceiling is quiete low. Not really suitable for people taller than 1,80m.

Giardini B&B in venice was a charming and graious place to stay. Our host, Roberto Scenna, was gracious and knowledgeable about Venice. Garibaldi Street was also quite a pleasure. Our accomodations were fine. The breakfast was excellent, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We highly recommend Giardini B&B.

The location of Giardini is superb, down in Castello in the 'French Quarter' as remodelled by the Emporer Napoleon. Really typical Italian area with few tourists. Some excellent restaurants there, expesically the pizza/snack bar on the right as you approach the Grand Lagoon. Excellent pizza and house wine, 3 course meal and 1 litre of wine around 20 Euros. Overall a welcoming property, problem with breakfast being provided although a discount was offered. 10 mins from St Marks square, and 5 mins from the Arsenale. This is an ideal base for Venice and excellently priced when you consider the cheapest hotel rate I found on the spot was 100 euros.
