B&B Ancient Venice - Venice

For the indepentant travelers on a budget Very clean close to center. Share bath with two other rooms. Breakfast is self serve packaged contintenal with lots of juice choices. You get to hear the canal life. Beds on the firm side with light pillows. Great value for the location in Venice. Across the square from Grom, best gelatto. Close to Vaporetto stop on grand canal. Ca' Rezzonico museum short walk.

We loved it! Great location...walking distance (with bags!) from bus station and many central "sights"...and spacious room with lovely views across the square and down the canal. Not a "hotel" in the conventional sense but all the better for it...bordering on eccentric in some respects! I would heartily recommend it to anyone wanting an informal, laid-back stay in a beautiful city.

Make sure to sleep with the window shut and the fan (there was no A/C) on: if you don't, you'll be kept awake by noise from the square outside, and plagued by a horde of mosquitoes! Breakfast was cold only, and was not restocked by our host, Paolo; as a result, we ran out of milk and bread. That said, he was otherwise very helpful and provided us with lots of useful information when we arrived.

Very recomendable, in a quiet square, not much turistic area. Very nice rooms. Negative thinks the breakfast is so poor and impossible find the audioguide offered. If i return to Venice, i hope, i will stay again in Ancient Venice. And recomended to all of you. We pay 70 eur/day/doubleroom.

We had to pay cash upfront which we were not expecting. We now understand that B&B's in Italy cannot usually process credit cards. This information should be included on the website of each B&B so that guests know what to expect before they arrive. The breakfast was spartan, but we enjoyed the location of the B&B. The view from our window was lovely.

The relationship between price and quality was fantastic. The B&B was in walking distance to everything and is really well located. However, many of the things that were announced on the webpage didn't get offered (no internet, no TV, no shower gel, no shower caps, apparently they offer audio tour but since nobody of the staff was ever to be seen we couldn't get them, etc.). In spite of all this, i would totally recommend staying at this place. The above mentioned things are not necessary for making your stay in Venice worthwhile.

This is an excellent B&B, located beside the charming Rio di Barnaba. Paolo, our host was very friendly and made us feel welcome and comfortable. It is especially suited to younger people and couples. The room was large, plenty of wardrobe and storage space, lovely view and very clean. Breakfast is available 24/7 ;). Fresh veg available off a barge in the mornings was lovely :) Totally recommend it!
