We had an amazing time at La Paggeria. Paulo and Antonette made us feel very welcome at the B&B and also cooked an amazing meal for us the first night (well worth the price - it was some of the best food that we had on our entire 2 week trip). The rooms are very large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and included the absolute best brioche/croissants that we've ever had. Most of all, the beautiful views and quiet location really help you escape from all of your worries and troubles ... I very, very strongly recommend this B&B.

Yes, I would recommend La Paggeria. It lies on the outskirts of downtown Florence, about 30 minutes by public bus. It offers: a small, cosy atmosphere; beautiful scenery; situated on hilltop, it offers a spectacular view of the landscape below, with cypress trees and olive groves stretching for miles. After spending an entire day in downtown Florence, full of hustle and bustle, the peace and quiet of La Paggeria was a refreshing change. A taxi from downtown Florence to La Paggeria will cost between 20 and 25 Euros. Breakfast is included in the price, and laundry service is available for a reasonable additional price. The staff speaks English, and has info on sightseeing and the art galleries. My wife and I were both very pleased!

Like everything else in Italy, La Paggeria was impossible to find. However, our host Paolo, was kind enough to meet us at the main road so that we could follow him back. I chose this place because of the picture on the internet of the view from the terrace and I was not disappointed. The only word that I can think of to describe this place is stunning!!!! Not just the view, but the accomodations as well. Oh, did I mention that Paolo is also a gourmet chef. If he offers to make you dinner, be sure to accept. I would highly recommend staying at La Paggeria. It is a vacation that I will never forget.

We thought the property was in Vagglia but it is in Montorsoli which is very small with only 2 restaurants. The property was beautiful and excellent if you wanted a 'get away from it all' experience but we found the surroundings and atmosphere too 'sedate'. The view from our room was stunning.

How to reach B&B La Paggeria

By car
From the North: via the motorway A1, exit at Barberino del Mugello and follow the signs for Vaglia, then towards Florence to Montorsoli. Turn left after Le Terrazze restaurant that you will see on the right. You will find La Paggeria B&B 150 metres ahead.
Via the motorway A11 exit at Firenze Nord and follow the indications to the beltway (circonvallazione) and then to Piazza della Libertà. Take the Bolognese road and after the Montorsoli sign turn right. You will find La Paggeria B&B 150 metres ahead.
From the South: via the motorway A1, exit Firenze Sud and follow the signs to the beltway (circonvallazione) and then to Piazza della Libertà. Take the Bolognese road, and after the Montorsoli sign turn right. You will find La Paggeria B&B 150 metres ahead.
From the airport: the B&B is located around 15 km from Florence Amerigo Vespucci airport. Follow directions to the circonvallazione beltway, then towards Piazza della Libertà. Take the SS11 state road and after the Montorsoli road sign, turn right. La Paggeria B&B lies 150 metres ahead.

By train
The B&B is 9 km from Florence's Santa Maria Novella railway station. The ATAF bus line 25A will take you from the station to the Montorsoli stop, which is a few metres away from the property.

By airplane
Several shuttle buses provide a daily service from the airport to Santa Maria Novella railway station. From the station, head to the bus shelter and take ATAF bus line 25A to the Montorsoli stop. La Paggeria B&B lies only 150 metres away.
