Bed and Breakfast Al Porta Susa - Turin

This bedroom in a beautiful Torino apartment is in the heart of the city, and as such is a bit noisy early in the morning due to the traffic, but was not a problem at night and after rush hour. The location was good, as it was within a one minute walk of bus 56, which would take you directly to the major touristy areas. Otherwise it was a 10 minute walk, and also not difficult. The location was also within a three minute walk from Porta Susa train station and the Metro. Breakfast with the owner was delightful, and while I was concerned about sharing bathrooms with others, it was no problem at all, as there are two, very close to the rooms, and not at all inconvenient. Having access to a kitchen for tea at night, or breakfast was perfect. This was really a treat.

This was a fun and wonderful place to stay. Marco, the host, was very considerate and helpful. He took time for us and even ate breakfast with us on the final day. My friends who stayed there with us agree that this was the best place we stayed. It was clean, spacious and felt like our home! The young lady from The Netherlands who was there at the same time was very pleasant to talk to as well. I highly recommend staying here. It is a good price and a great location too!

Marco Bonino is a gracious and welcoming host. He offers as much assistance & aid when possible. Since he works elsewhere during the day, he is available by cell phone, but no one else (english speaking) is at the property during business hours, so you are somewhat on your own. A B&B is great for the independent traveller who is comfortable traveling in a foreign country and able to acclimate to new environments easily. Torino has changed so much in the last 15 years, that I really didn't even recognize it at all. So not having a "concierge" available at all times was challenging for me. Marco makes every effort to create a warm & comfortable atmosphere for all his guests. He makes, from scratch, fresh breads & cakes for the continental breakfasts and the is more than happy to teach you to use his appliances. Full cooking capabilities are available if you chose. I had only 2 criticisms based on my preferences: 1. The beds were very uncomfortable. Way too hard. 2. There are two bathrooms, that ALL the guests share. And only one with a shower/tub. This was not clear from the website. My rating of the employees is low because there are none. There is a housekeeper, but she is around when guests are usually not there & only speaks Italian. Though she does a good job of keeping the house very neat and clean.

This is a really special place in a beautiful, huge and old apartment. You can't see from the pictures how great the place is. It is in a very personal atmosphere and the host is particularly nice and helpful. Short walk and you are right in the center.
