The B&B Mamma Maria sits elegantly a few steps away from the famous Greco/Roman theatre, close to one of the most famous historical thoroughfares in Taormina, in a tranquil corner of the historical centre.

This building, which has recently been restored, was opened to the public at the wish of Signora Maria who lives there.

The comfortable rooms, with an elevator to all the floors, offer a charming view of the Gulf of Giardini Naxos and of the majestic volcano Etna, the fragrant garden, the elegant dining room, the terrace with a breathtaking panorama are at the disposal of those who wish to spend an unforgettable holiday in Taormina and in the surrounding areas.

At the B&B Mamma Maria the rooms are not numbered. Each room has the name of a particular flower, whose variety makes up the richness of this extraordinary land of Sicily that Mamma Maria knows and loves so well.


Mamma Maria is fond of nature and has covered the walls of her home with the most beautiful pictures of local flowers in order to share with her guests the beauty of colours, of creativity, of positivity, and the joy of life.


The original prints make the environment pleasant and unique. While numbers are cold, few remain insensible to the beauty of these flowers that cover the island’s multicoloured fields or that bloom luxuriously in the gardens and on the balconies of Sicilians.

Standard double rooms - such as the Room of Daisies, the Room of Asters and the Room of Lantanas - are pleasant, comfortable rooms, elegantly furnished, have a balcony, TV and a private bath.

The suite Petals of Sunshine is a fantastic room with a fridge and cooking facility, two very large windows open on a spectacular terrace with a breathtaking view of the Greek Theater, the bay of Giardini Naxos, the coastline and the majestic, smoking Etna.

Breakfast at Mamma Maria

Breakfast at Mamma Maria is special. The atmosphere is friendly, colorful and relaxing. Breakfast is served from 8 AM to 10 AM, but we are flexible to allow for late risers. The self-service table offers a variety of fresh fruits, delicious fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt, juices, toasted bread, sweet brioches, small cakes and the most delicious freshly baked croissants from the nearby pastry shop. Honey, jam, nutella and butter are also available. We offer espresso, cappuccino and decaffeinated coffee, hot chocolate, tea and a selection of herbal teas. You may choose to take breakfast in the common room on the ground floor or, when the weather is nice, in our quiet first floor terrace among Mediterranean fragrant herbs.

How to reach B&B Mamma Maria

By car
This is how you can reach us bycar:
From the Catania Airport: take the A18 CT-ME highway and follow it to the Taormina exit. Climb the hill towards Porta Messina, which is a 5 km drive from the exit. Our B&B is a couple of minutes from Porta Messina (see the map).

From villa S. Giovanni (RC): take the ferry-boat to Messina, then take the A18 ME-CT highway to Taormina.

From the Palermo Airport: take the A20 PA-ME highway and continue on the A18 ME-CT to Taormina. Alternatively, you can take the A19 PA-CT then continue with the A18 CT-ME to Taormina.

By train
The railway station for Taormina is in Giardini Naxos, which is 15 minutes away from our house. Taxis will take you easily to our B&B and buses will leave you near Porta Messina. From here, there is only a three minutes walk to our B&B.

By airplane
If you came by air, the Catania Airport is the closest to our B&B. You can then proceed by taxi, by rented car or by bus.

By public transportation
Full details will be furnished on the public transportation at your request.

Some options are available for parking. You can park in a secure public garage, we recommend Lumbi Garage, where our guests get a 40% discount over the full day parking cost.

This garage is at the entrance of the city and close to Porta Messina. From here, every few minutes, there is a free shuttle bus that takes people to the centre of town. A three minutes walk will take you from the bus stop to our B&B.

Alternatively, there is a private parking garage just around the corner from our us. They also give a discount to our clients and you can rent a car from them and park there free of charge. However, they have specific opening hours which may limit its accessibility.
