Vacation Rental Il Casale di Caterina - Taormina

Great views from this location, and all facilities for a relaxing stay are present. Appartments were well equipped, staff very friendly and helpful. Make sure you follow driving instructions, our navigation device got us up the wrong hill.

Only problem: to arrive. Dangerous and unpaved roads. I hope to resolve this problem. Anyway very nice and silet, beautiful scenery/view. Staff very nice...especially Costantino.

Located at the top of a mountain with very difficult access! Could not find even with gps.

We stayed at the Casale di Caterina for 2 weeks in July 2009 and had a really wonderful time there. The accomodation is set in a lovely location, high up on a hillside which overlooks Taormina, Castelmola and the bay of Giardini Naxos. The rooms are simple and clean, with air conditioning (very necessary in Sicily in July) and the pool area is kept very clean, and has fabulous views out over the hills. Constantino looked after us for the 2 weeks, and we were taken good care of, with breakfasts at a time to suit us, served on the sunny terrace. The only thing to be aware of is that some of the road up to the property is unmade, and whilst it is driveable, the first time you do it is a little challenging. That said, over the course of our stay we whittled down the time from the bottom of the hill to the Casale, from around 30 minutes to 12 as we grew more confident! I highly recommend the Casale as a place to stay in Sicily, and would happily return for another holiday.
