Mini Hotel Pio on Mokhovaya - St Petersburg

Nice B&B...well located. The only problem we had was the language because not everybody speaks English...the room was very good as well as the bathroom, but there are no facilities as it is just a B&B hotel.

Very good breakfast and usage of kitchen and welcomming even in the early morning hours of the day. We felt like in our home.

The team at Hotel Pio are friendly, highly efficient and well organised. They were also flexible and happy to help where they could with information, advice, visits etc. e.g. Whilst out on a trip my wallet was stolen. The team helped to contact the police and acted as translator whilst I made the necessary statement. Not sure what I would have done without their support. My only criticism would be the noise levels which could be quite high early in the morning. The provision of a small PC and free wireless access was very welcome though this needs to be restricted at early/late hours to reduce disruption to guests. Great value for money and overall very happy with our stay - thank you!

I would highly recommand this place. I loved the location, not too close but not too far from the city center (Ermitage). The breakfast is not so good but the lady who was preparing it was so smily! We had some problem to understand how to access to the b&b on our arrival. The instructions are being given on the Acknowlegement of Receipt of the booking sent by Venere but I did not understand them. There is a code in order to access to the building. That was our first time to St Petersburg and this stay was a dream... I would love to go again and might choose the same B&B. However the rooms are not so well isolated and that could be unpleasant if you wish to have some privacy. As I was travelling with a friend of mine that was not an issue. As a couple it could be...

I would recommend my friends to stay here if ever they visit st petersburg. this place not only located at a convenient location but also condusive with friendly atmosphere. breakfast was good too. would stay here again if ever i visit st petersburg in future.

We spent 4 nights at the Mini Hotel Pio in July 2010. Unfortunately the weather was very warm during that period and our room, located at the 3d floor -just under the roof- was also very warm. Also the mosquito net did not fit enough the windows to stop the nightly assaults... but we fixed it after the 1st night and, after this, everything was ok. Excellent location near the city center. The hotel entrance door is bit reluctant but the inside is very clean and recently refurbished. Expect to pay (30EUR/person) for the 'hotel invitation' necessary to get the visa to Russia + daily city taxes (around 125rubles/night/p). Overall, an excellent price/ratio hotel for travelers.

Its the perfect place to stay in the heart of St. Petersburg! Excellent relationship between price/quality! Anytime again!

We (2 adults, 3 children) thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. From the moment we arrived until our departure 3 days later, the service was friendly and efficient. Our two rooms were very clean and had just what we needed. Great location with easy access to the main sites of St. Petersburg. No hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even before the stay! Emails were replied immediately and a lot of help was provided, especially for the visa procedure.

I think you should exclude this property from your site, in partiuclar because it's situated in an awful buidling with horrible views from the rooms. Besides, my account is in fact based on what I learnt from my colleagues. My own reservation at this hotel was cancelled by the hotel at the last moment and I was moved to another hotel, which caused a lot of inconveniences. Unfortunately, with smaller hotels in St. Petersburg this happens all the time.

I booked the PIO for three nights and left after the first. I have 2 complaints: 1) The bed was uncomfortable, the pillow was about one inch this and the comforter was way too small for two people. 2) the PIO is located in a good place for nightlife but unfortunately there seemed to be a little party going on outside our window until about 2am. The owner wanted me to pay for all three nights but we settled on two which I think is reasonable. The price was attractive but the only thing I needed (a comfy bed) they did not have. So if your the least bit picky about the bed you sleep in I would not reccomend the PIO.

The only issue is the enterance to the building that looks somewhat neglected... other than that - I really recomand the place!

Nice place to stay, very fiendly stuff, very close to the center, unique problem is the noice in the morning, also in Europe you would find a 4* hotel for this price, not a B&B hotel

We were very pleased with the customer service. Everyone was helpful and went out of their way to see that we were comfortable. Our room had a large bed and our room had a balcony. We were able to walk to all of the main tourist sites; weather was excellent and once we found our way around we were very satisfied.

Breakfasts can be better for sure When you pay for hotel, convertation of euros from your creditcard to rubles will take around 2% of sum. But overall the best place to stay - in the center of beatiful city, comfortable and spacious rooms, nice staff. We had wonderfull holidays!
