Bed and Breakfast Villa De Angelis - Sorrento

We chose villa De Angelis for the both tranquil and central location (midway between Pompeii, Capri and the Amalfi coast), the childern playground and the good value. We were very satisfied and pleased of everything. The garden with the lemon trees and young children plays is adorable, and we had a view of the Naples gulf and mount vesuvius from our window. Giuseppe de Angelis is a kind and knowledgeable host, who catered to all our needs and answered to all my questions with great patience, and his sister even did our 1-year old daghter's laundry (without any charge!). The villa is located on a mountain slope above central Sorrento, in a village called Priora. There is regular bus service to the town center, but it is also recommended to rent a car for farther trips. The village minimarket is adjacent to the villa, and owned by the same friendly and hospitable family. there are some restaurants within few minutes drive, of which I would recommend Le Palme, although a bit fancy. They have good food, and Giuseppe's offered there a deal of 25 Euro full meal and drinks (including transfer, if needed) that is a good bargain. Another restaurant with beautiful views, even closer, is Il Borgo. Further uphill, on the way to Amalfi is the village of sant Agata, with the nice restaurant Lo Struzzichino and, if you can afford it, the elegant Don Alfonso, considered one of the best in southern Italy. If you dine in Sorrento try the Leone Rosso, but avoid San Antonino- it's a tourist trap. Over all, we would highly recommend this area and villa De Angelis for a romantic and/or family vacation.
