We booked this hotel online and paid extra for a room with a balcony overlooking the main street and it was well worth the extra. We enjoyed sipping wine on our balcony watching the crazy drivers on the street below! The rooms are on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator, stated on the website, but people with mobility problems would have trouble. there are also a couple of small apartments suitable for families. This is an old building that has been beautifully renovated and is clean and welcoming. The staff are all young, helpful and energetic. The hotel is centrally located to walk and is near for day trips to the Amalfi Coast and Capri. Lovely restaurants and shops all nearby, we look forward to returning. Do go to this little charming hotel.

Claustrophobically small rooms with absolutely zero public space. This is most definately misrepresented to be a B&B. The proximity to Piazzo Tasso and the price does not make up for this. If I ever stay in Sorrento again it will be at one of the nicer hotels, not a faux B&B

Basic rooms.our room was really noisy,as it was next to the cleaning stuff cupboard.and because there is no lift, they made a crane kind of thing to lift your bags up to fourth floor level.and we could almost hear that every morning going up and down. For the rest it was ok. I do got something positive to say and that is ,the great location. Its direct in the middle of everything in sorrento.

A warm and welcoming B&B. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The B&B was conveniently located to main city square but on a quiet backstreet. The staff were super. My only recommendation is to include directions on reservation confirmation.

Although we would have liked one of the balcony rooms we were still pleased with our choice of accommodation, after all the recommendations to stay in a hotel, we feel that we made a great choice in staying right in the Old centre, it was perfect, the double glazing cut out all the street noise, and when you walked out you were right in the thick of it. Superb !

Everything was great here, except for the noise of the rooms - which I understand can't really be helped by the fantastic location it's in. It overlooks the main street of Sorrento and is very close to the main square so there is a lot happening into the night. However, the rooms were spacious, very clean, bright, and the staff were incredibly helpful - my mom needed a doctor and the lady running the B&B actually called the doctor on our behalf and arranged an appointment. Roughly a 15 min walk to bus stop to Amalfi coast (located outside of the train station) as well as train station, and ferry to Capri.

It's a nice place for this price range, but we would not return to Sorrento in general. We found the town too noisy, touristy and tacky. This cannot be blamed on Palazzo Starace which is a good place, right in the center of town, very convenient for bars, restaurants etc. If you are looking for a beach holiday you should maybe look at different hotels near the water (the beaches are crowded and tiny) or a hotel with a pool. If you want culture and beautiful landscapes, go to a different town. If you are looking for a place to start your daytrips along the coast and to Capri, Sorrento and Palazzo Storace are a good choice.

Room has a great location but be prepared for the stairs. At night there was a lot of noise and shower was very small although some of the other rooms had larger showers and faced another direction so probably had less noise. We enjoyed that breakfast was at a local restaurant and we were very close to the main square, bus stop, easy walk to the marinas or the train station. The staff was very nice but it is an apartment so there is no concierge.

Palazzo Starace is a great B&B, located just off the main square in Sorrento. The 5 rooms are located on the 3rd floor, although there is no lift. Baggage can be brought up by motorised winch, although the largest suitcases may present problems. When we stayed, the owner was not present although the housekeeper was very accommodating and helped us check in with no problems. The room was great, a big (real) double bed and a single which we didn't use. Being a sea-side town, it was good that the room was tiled throughout, with air-conditioning included. The only thing missing was a safe in the room. Breakfast was a voucher for use in a nearby, low-key bar cafe, which had great coffee and fresh pastries - the owners ran an exclusive boutique pasticceria before this bar. The location and price of the hotel is amazing for Sorrento, although be aware it is in the town proper, thus more suited to train/road visitors (like us), rather than from the sea port as the cliff stairs from the port are very tiring. There is a bus if you prefer.

Nice clean and spacious room. Front room with nice balcony overlooking the main street which is traffic free after 20h.Excellent location, closeby to restaurants, ferry and trainstation. Not for people with walking difficulties though, it's three flights up and there's only a luggage lift. We would definitely come back here if we would return to Sorrento.

location is wonderful once you find it - the narrow streets with unfamiliar numbering system makes it difficult to find the first time. it's a 3 story walk-up (6, if you count the landings) but there is a lift for luggage. triple room was tight but comfortable. breakfast coupons provided for a choice of two coffee bars (one of which denied our coupons) but the other was close by and enjoyable.

A great place to stay in Sorrento, only 100 meters from the central Tasso square and in the historical centre. Also central to port to Capri, Napels, etc. and trains/buses and across a famous icecream shop. Breakfast is at a bar and a bit poor, but seems typical and for small money you can have some extra. Friendly people almost everywhere. There are many stairs in Sorrento, so also in the house, you go up 3 floors, but there is a luggage hoist. Room at the front is quiet when window and blinds are closed. Frontroom has a nice view on the street from the balcony. Overall great atmosphere.

This was great place to stay. The rooms were clean and very comfortable with an AC unit to keep you cool. A little Mini Bar with very cheap prices was an added bonus. Very handy for a little beer or bottle of water late at night when you needed it. Only one criticism and that is the noise level. However, when you stay in a hotel that is so central to everything then you will get some noise. Being right in the middle of the town with access to everything was worth the noise. The owners of this establishment are extremely friendly and welcoming. It was a little difficult to find but if you decide to stay here you will most likely arrive by train. From the train station head to the main square Piazza Tasso, from here head down the Corso Italia (the main street). Once you are on this street the Palazzo Storace is just up the first wee alley on the left - right across the road is a sign for Hotel Corso. Also on the street at the start of the alley is a little stall selling inlaid wood products. We really enjoyed or stay here and would really recommend it to anyone wanting a central location for their stay on Sorrento. We would definitely stay here again.

Sorrento is beautiful and Palazzo Starace is located on the main street of town, very easy to find, and about 5 minutes walk from the Circumvesuviana. The rooms were spacious and clean. I would definitely stay here again! While this didn't affect my stay, there is no lift, so be prepared to climb some stairs (there is a baggage lift though).

This was a great place to stay in Sorento. It is located on the main street in Sorento and our room overlooked the street. Our room had an outside balcony with a couple of chairs and small table which was nice for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening. The rooms size and furnishings were more than adequate. We enjoyed the proprietor and her daughter who were very helpful and friendly. It is located close to the train station....within walking distance depending on how much luggage you have. The only draw back which was not a problem for us is that the Palazzo is on the 5th floor with no elevator. There is a hoist for the luggage so leave your luggage in the entry way at the bottom of the stairs. They will lower the hoist for the luggage. All in all we enjoyed our stay there very much and would not hesitate to stay there again! The only thing different about the reservations is that they required one nights deposit up front. They want a bank transfer but accepted a bank check instead.

The accommodation was going throught remodeling. I believe we had the only room available at the time. I wish we had known that this B&B was on the 5th floor, without a lift available. There weren't too many "services" and "facilities" available. There were no "public areas". The location on the other hand was great.
