In principle the web page describes correctly the location. However we went there on wintertime and we couldn't utilize the common outdoor areas which represent one qualifiing part of the B&B. A negative aspect was the elevated level of noise produced by the air conditioning (heater)

Absolutely fantastic! Better even than expected from other reviews. We were travelling with another couple so we particulary appreciated being able to sit in the courtyard in the evenings under the gazebo with the lights on around us and make a drink. Breakfast served outside was a real treat. We were able to walk from the station and find the b and b without too much difficulty. We were given advice as to where to eat etc. which proved very helpful. The b and b is very close to the beach where we were able to swim. Would thoroughly recommend it!

Orchid Corner was a charming B&B. Carmella & Tony excellent and friendly hosts. The bedrooms led onto delightful terraces full of flowers, shrubs & cacti where breakfast was served. A haven of tranquility to come back to after a day of sightseeing. Just a short walking distance down narrow cobbled streets to sea, buses, and restaurants. We were three women travelling on our own and felt very safe in Meta night or day. The people we met in the area from bus drivers, waiters and locals were extremely friendly & helpful even though the only words of Italian we knew were hello, thank you, and goodnight. Would certainly recommend Orchid Corner, Meta.

We loved our stay at Orchid Corner. Carmella, Antonino and Max were wonderful hosts!!! The fact that It was away from the crowds of Sorrento was a huge bonus, yet it was very easy to get anywhere we wanted to go - Capri, Sorrento, Naples, Positano - you name it. We will be back! And, yes, Carmella, I'll be writing you next month as promised to catch up and get your recipes. Everyone - come here for the perfect place to explore the area, and come "home" to at night. See you soon Max!!!

This is a place where you feel like home! The hosts, Carmela and Antonino, are wonderful people, who do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. We miss them already, although we left only a week ago. And those breakfasts! Antonino had always something special for us. The Orchid Corner is a great place if you want some peace of mind away from busy Sorrento, and also a great place to taste a true Italian family atmosphere.

My wife and I and our daughter and son-in-law stayed at Orchid Corner while in Meta. The rooms and were spotless and neatly decorated. Antonino picked us up at the train station, and Carmela had a snack of cake and coffee ready when we arrived. Carmela provides excellent advice on the sites in the region. It was our good fortune to follow her advice in all matters of travel and eating around the Amalfi Coast and Naples. The location of Orchid Corner is near the only public beach in the Sorrento area, and once you get to know the route, only a few minutes walk from the train station. Meta is the perfect location if you want to stay in Sorrento but do not like the crowds, and the Orchid Corner B&B is the perfect location in Meta. Meta gives you a small slice of every day Italian life. Carmela and Antonino make you feel like family. Just a few minutes from the Orchid Corner is a restaurant called La Tavernetta recommended by Carmela the first night we stayed in Meta. It is run by Diego Navas and his girl friend Petra. We ate there three nights of our four night stay, eating everything from the light as air Gnocchi, linguine with fresh seafood, salads, the seafood risotto, the soups, ravioli, rigatoni with a dark spicy Neapolitan sauce, and of course the deserts. What we found remarkable about the restaurant were the variety of sauces with each of the separate dishes, the consistently high quality of the ingredients, and the care used in the preparation of the dishes. Petra’s service was efficient, warm and helpful. Diego and Petra truly love their restaurant and customers and have pride what they do. If it is not too busy, ask Petra or Diego for a tour of the wine and cheese cellars. The house wine was a good selection and a good value as was this entire restaurant. In fact, dinner for four was no more expensive than a night out in a similar “Italian” restaurant in the US.

I booked Orchid Corner from the other comments on this website and am so happy with our choice. Sweet, sweet people Carmela and Tony! We met people from Finland that we hope to keep in touch with as well. Staying in Meta instead of Sorrento I think was a great idea. Sorrento is so much more expensive but easy to get to from Meta. We stayed in a B&B in Rome which was one room in a ladies house we felt like we were in prison. This was more like a little hotel but better. We loved having the room next to the patio with all of Carmela's cacti. If we ever get back to the Amalfi Coast area we will absolutely stay with them again. Molto bene!

Excellent solution if you'd like to tour Naples, Pompeii and archeological areas, Sorrento, Capri and Costiera Amalfitana. B&B is very comfortable and extremely clean. Rooms are large and well equipped (no TV, good thing...). Owners are truly wonderful, will make you feel at home from the first moment, and will provide you with all info you may need to move around. Meta offers excellent restaurants and carry-outs, so, after a long day touring the area, plan to go back there for dinner at "Grillerie", or even for carry-out pizza. Highly, highly recommended - plan to stay 5-7 days if you can (at a minimum 2 for Pompeii/Herculaneum, one each for Sorrento / Capri / Amalfi). For sightseeing, you must be willing to walk and use all means of transportation (bus, train, boat, rental scooter) other than a car (not recommended)

This was a fantastic place to stay. Of our 3 month European trip this was the most spacious and comfortable place we stayed in. The hosts are a lovely old Italian couple who were also the most friendliest of our trip. We were welcomed with wine and biscuits. It was a bit difficult to find at first (about a 10 minute walk from Meta station towards the beach, down some very narrow streets with no street signs) but this just adds to the cultural experience. Definitely recommend this place to travellers wanting a quiet and cosy place to stay 10 minutes by train to Sorrento (trains every 20 mins). Hope to return some day.

It's a must to call the hostess! she'll come to get you. make sure to get off the circumvesuviana train at meta- 3 or 4 stops before sorrento. we had great difficulty finding it on our own- but it was our fault, as we did not have her number with us. we arrived on a sunday night and everything was closed. but,it was a delightful set of surprises- a lovely, contemporary room in an old town setting. quaint, sensous lemon trees and cactii graced the private, spacious terrace garden which the french doors of our room opened up to. we had a view of the rockmountain and a short stroll down to the beach. heavenly. and camilla, well,i loved her as much as max the cat, who guards the garden. i am allergic to cats but it was no problem as max wandered at free will, around outside on the terrace only. he was good company, and so beautiful. cheap and good eats at a family 'bar' around another corner. yes, the church bells chime and let you know that the hours of your life are slipping by, but close the window and you won't hear a thing. we stayed a week ans booked for another night because we just couldn't leave. i'll go back in my daydreams many times in the next years. circumvesuviana trains and busses were easily accessible. camila gave us maps and schedules. it was easy to get to sorrento, amalfi, pompeii etc and it was lovely to come back to serenity. i took lots of photos of the place but don't know how to 'send 'them yet. just know that it is a photo-worthy spot.

The breakfast was poor. Packed sweet rolls. We had to ask for normal bread. On the fourth day of our stay we got clean towels. The parking was 40 euros extra for four days. This was not mentioned when we made the reservations.

This is very remarkable and cosy place in the small town Meta. Carmella(owner) was very kind with us, and met us in a home-style(with wine and a slice of a pie). I was very much pleased to us and cheered up. :) We are very glad, that we have stopped here and henceforth we are going to do it in the future.

Our time at Orchid Corners was more than we could have hoped for and was by far the highlight of our one month trip to Italy. Carmela and Antonio (and Max the cat) are incredible hosts – Gracious, warm and generous. Our room was lovely and Carmela’s garden provided a peaceful, quite respite from a busy travel schedule. Carmela and Antonio went far beyond the role of a traditional B&B owner and provided us with many helpful recommendations, but most importantly, allowed us to experience a side of Italy that we would never had a chance to experience had we not stayed at Orchid Corners. We have made true friends in Italy. Meta is wonderful area to be used as an anchor point for all activities on the Sorrento Peninsula. Everything is accessible via public transportation (trains, busses and ferries). Meta, a mere five minutes by train from Sorrento, is close to everything, but allows guests a welcome, quite time away from the bustling tourist activity in Sorrento. Our fellow guests were wonderful people from all around the world. Time together at breakfast and in the evenings at Orchard Corners, allowed us to get to know everyone. It was a great gift. We will definitely return to Orchid Corners and highly recommend it to anyone considering a stay on the Sorrento Peninsula.

Carmella & Antonino acclaimed us in their lovely equipped little palace when we arrived tired and exhausted late at night. From the first moment "Mama Carmella" took care of her new "Bambini"! In the warm and friendly atmosphere of Orchid Corner we quickly felt like home. After several glasses of wine and great homemade Italian food we even learned un poco di Italiano (Carmella: Si, si! Brava! Brava!!) Fortunately didn't we see everything so far, so we MUST come back to Meta! and we already know where we will stay next time :-)

We were very happy with the Orchid Corner. It is beautiful and relaxing, the rooms are very clean and cool. Carmella and Antonio are wonderful hosts who made it a truly rewarding experience. Meta is a bus ride from Sorrento and steps away from the beach. It has everything a tourist might want without being overcrouded with hotels. A very genuine and warm place. Breakfasts were nice and varied, coffee was great. You get to meet other guests in a nice unforced manner. Price is right. Staying here really made our vacation special.

Abbiamo passato una splendida vacanza all'Orchid Corner!

A lovely place, and an enjoyable stay despite the worst weather imaginable. (The fire in the cheerful commons room/kitchen was a big help there!) Carmella and Tonio are truly warm and wonderful hosts, Max the Cat is awesome, the rooms are delightfully decorated and spacious, the breakfasts hearty. Orchid Corner is a bit hard to find, until you know your way -- but it's certainly worth the effort! We would love to return in a balmier season.

Orchid Corner was wonderful once we found it! The instructions said to telephone for a lift from railway station. Did this many times, but there was no answer. The map provided was useless and didn't show the railway station, nor the scale, so couldn't walk. A railway employee took pity and gave us a lift. He hadn't heard of Orchid Corner, neither had everyone he asked. Eventually we found it. Turned out 'Orchid Corner' is just its English name for the website. It is known locally by its Italian name. I queried the telephone problem. The owner quite cheerfully said that was her work telephone number, and she wasn't at work! She didn't seem to appreciate or understand that we had spent an hour looking for the place! Only other problem was the church bells. They rang every quarter of an hour all day and night, driving me mad! Having said all that, Orchid Corner itself was lovely, very clean and spacious. Away from the madness of Sorrento itself and easily accessible by train and bus.

The room was spacious but the location was hard to find. The railway station is around 1km far from the B&B and need to go by foot. Car is not recommended (parking available at 10 € per night) as streets are very small and lot of tourists in summer . Breakfast is served only at 9.00 which is a little bit late when you want to go for a visit.
