An absolutely beautiful place to stay! This was my wife's favorite of all the 15 days of hotel rooms during our Italy trip! Would be most easily accessed by ferry, as it is quite a walk down to the marina from the center of town. A HUGE thank you to Osmon for all of his hard work and personalized service. Definitely order his Cafe Italiano in the morning, as you will find nothing else like it in the world! Do not expect the wi-fi to work, because it doesn't...but instead enjoy the serenity (or contrasting bustle!) of the marina and it's unique view of this heavenly little slice of the world!

A gem. A diamond in the rough. A rare and unique little property. I expect the price will have gone up before I travel there again because more people will discover this little inn. Barbara (the innkeepers sister) did great in welcoming us. Osmon, the butler (for lack of a better word) was so helpful. Some people might find the marina noisy but we loved the sounds of the working people and the crickets and waves at night. Candlelights greeted our return each evening. We loved the terrace upstairs and made some great new friends over wine at sunset -- a treasured Italian memory!! Older or disabled travelers might have difficulty navigating the entry to front door.

Excellent location. Right on Marina floor, close to coastal excursion boats, buses and taxis. Good restaurants in area. Staff friendly, helpful and attentive. Breakfast outstanding. Cereal, milk, coffee, breads, pastry's, rolls, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt and fresh fruits. Large room and bath and very clean and serviced daily. Overall experience was excellent. Highy recommend.

Fanatastic boutique bed and breakfast hotel. Brilliant location. Easy to access the town, the ferries, beach etc. Roberta is a stylish hostess. Initially a little hard to locate as we drove, but a great bus system, and taxis know the hotel

My room had a million dollar view of Vesuvius and the bay. In January, it was a quiet, secluded getaway, but with easy access to the center of town by a five minute bus ride, or a slightly longer climb up a series of staircases built into the cliff. The ferries that go to Naples, Capri and other destinations leave from the pier right in front of the property. My only reservation is the noisiness of the heater/airconditioner in the room, which was tolerable with earplugs, but I am a light sleeper.

There was a bit of confusion on the directions to the B&B and the signage was subtle and hidden from view. The exterior almost looked like an abandoned building but once inside it was a very charming place and exactly what we were looking for after our travels through Italy. Roberta was a gracious host and we loved our corner room with the fantastic views of the coast and marina. Since it's winter we could only imagine how beautiful it must be here when everything is in full bloom. There are many hotels and rooms to rent and despite the stair climb up to the city centre we would return to Marina Piccola 73 every visit to Sorrento.

I called my stay here "room with million dollar view". The room by the ocean that you can see sunrise from your bed, what's more can you ask for life. Despite of the old rusty exterior, hotel interior is nice and superbly clean. We had room at the corner, so we had spectacular view of ocean from 2 angles. Beware if you drive, hotel is in a corner of the marina. Only tiny car can get in to hotel. Otherwise, you need to park in public parking about 15 Euro a day.

The hotel is hidden away, "ON" the water. the rooms are clean and lovely with unparalleled views. Roberta was extremely helpful confirming our transportation to the Naples Airport. Breakfast was more than adequate. A quiet, charming place away from the noise. Be prepared to navigate a steep walkway to access this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at Marina Piccola, especially our room with the balcony open to a view of Vesuvius across the bay and a lovely side view of the cliffs. The morning light was amazing. We were in Sorrento 4 nights and enjoyed walking around the small town. Used buses and the train to get around the Amalfi Coast when not using our feet. The location of Marina Piccola at the foot of the cliff feels strange, at first, but we quickly loved it and felt quite comfortable and safe. We had the same view as the expensive hotels above us for a lot lower cost. Marina Piccola is an excellent value. When we didn't feel like walking up to the town, we took the convenient bus. Marina Piccola isn't elegant, but is like visiting your Italian grandmother's house. It is bright and cheery and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I spent seven nights at Marina Piccola in July and can safely say, it was the best part of my vacation. The location is wonderful, the rooms are beautiful and nicely appointed, the staff is cheerful and accommodating. What else can I say - excellent and, may I add, fairly priced.

Upon arrival to Sorrento, ask where the Marina Piccola is. Short walk or short bus from train station. Follow walkway to end, you may be questioning yourself if you have made the right choice, but once inside, you will be greeted by two dogs Taz (a larger mix) and Ralph (a loveable English Bulldog), and a fabulous B&B - whimsical and colourful decor, large rooms, all decorated by owner Roberta and family. A very large roof top verranda, where you have your breakfast and can relax after a long day of walking through store and restaurant packed alley ways, or as we used it to relax and heal foot blisters due to the long walks (note to self - bring good walking shoes) A great place to stay, family friendly or romantic getaway. But be warned the large boats blow there horns at 8:00am, no alarm clocks needed. We highly recommend this B&B.

What a gem! After a hectic few days in Florence and Rome this B&B was just what we needed! Brilliant rooms and excellent location - all we needed was better weather so that we could have made use of the rooftop patio. We found a great little local bar serving the best cocktails while we were there at a very reasonable cost. Make sure you go to Guannacino's on via S Antonio, Stefano is a great host and all his staff make you feel welcome (take them some Cadbury's chocolate). You can get a great steak at Inn Bufalito on vica I Fuoro as well! Cant wait to go back to Sorrento and take out friends - it is my new favourite place - and this B&B will be perfect for us all.

Don't be turned off by your initial sighting of the Marina Piccola structure and the long distance down. We were concerned. However, a warm greeting and then viewing the beautiful rooms dispelled all doubts. The views of the harbor and along the fantastic Amalfi coast from your windows are wonderful. The breakfast was typical and plentiful, lots of good coffee. Lots of good advice from Roberta, the innkeeper and owner on where to eat and getting around. Our evenings were finished off with wine and good conversation in the roof patio. A wonderful, relaxing experience.

The best of Marina Piccola for us was the warm welcome given by Rebecca, the location of the B&B ,the cleanliness of the rooms and the beautiful decoration of the whole place. It is a very nice place to stay and enjoy the Gulf of Naples. Very quiet to spend some days and visit the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompei, Ercolano...

This B&B was very nice and the rooms were clean, bright and quiet. Our room actually overlooked the Marina & we woke up to a view of Mt. Vesuvius every morning. Make sure you get directions from the owner before you arrive, they were very helpful & it would have been pretty hard to find without her directions. The owners are super friendly, provided great info on the town & surroundings and even brought us fresh flowers for our room!

Best kept secret in Sorrento. My husband & I loved it! We WILL return! Roberta is a gentle soul that made our stay there extremely relaxing, we felt like it was home! We have one regret-not staying longer! The unique building is charming with a fascinating history. The sound of the waves relaxing, the walk to the main square beautiful and the people in Sorrento very nice! I would like to live there for 1 year!

A charming B&B in a fabulous location right on the marina; however, a bit difficult to find in the dark! Best to arrive by water, then a short walk. Use buses to get up the hill to the town, as taxis very "pricey" for the short distances involved. Buses and train connect Sorrento with nearby places like Pompei, Herculaneum, Amalfi, etc. I sure wouldn't want to be driving. Roberta is a real champ. With her assistance, we were able to make the ferry to Capri for our reservation there, with only 15 minutes notice. High winds were threatening future ferries. We were here the end of October, so some restaurants close for the season. Still a great place to experience the beauty and uniqueness of the Sorrentine peninsula. Highly recommend for those who want something a little different.

Roberta is the proprietor of this B&B and someone you want to know while in Sorrento. I suggest you email her prior to your arrival and arrange to meet in the marina. It is a short walk from there to the B&B. You need a key to get in the front gate anyways, so such an arrangement works best and you don't need to worry about finding it as it is tucked away on the side of the marina around the corner and the sign is small. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the rooms and common space are very beautiful and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay and would return again. Most people take advantage of the simple breakfast offered each morning. The coffee is simply outstanding and I looked forward to it every morning. Anita helps with breakfast and knows a good bit of English. It is a climb up the cliff to the main square, however, there are buses that leave every 10 min and the ride is about 1 minute. The sundries/news shop near the B&B sells the tickets and is convenient. If you plan to go on a boat to Capri, day tour or other you are steps from the docks. Roberta made my stay quite enjoyable by advising me about day trips: trains to Pompei, buses to Amalfi/Positano, restaurants, swimming and so on. If you want a car from NAP to the B&B, please arrange the car with Roberta. Taxis are not the way to go and other car services are shady or unreliable at best. I made that mistake and I certainly got taken for a ride.

We had a wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings. Roberta is an excellent and well informed hostess who made us feel very welcome. The roof terrace and views are exceptional and we would certainly recommend Marina Piccola 73. Perhaps a little more information on finding the B&B would be helpful to those who don't have Google streetview.

Marina Piccola 73 is a true gem and a real find. Located right at the harbor, our room faced the water and we fell asleep each night listening to the sound of the waves on the beach--fantastic. We watched the ferries come and go and Mt. Vesuvius was right there, in front of our balcony window. Roberta, the owner, could not be more helpful. She has a great attitude and disposition, knows the great restaurants, has all the ferry and bus schedules, and is completely internet savvy. She has created a beautiful B&B in a great location away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get there in a few minutes. Her newly finished rooftop lounging terrace is beautiful and suitable sunbathing or even for small receptions. Breakfast is served either on an outdoor terrace or an indoor garden room, both beautiful. We would highly recommend this B&B.

This is a delightful little place right at the harbor in Sorrento. The room, the view, the roof top terrace, and the common living room area were all wonderful. The breakfast is personally served on the guest's schedule, and is fresh and plentiful. The climb to the center of town is long, but there's a bus which is inexpensive and runs frequently. It's very convenient to the ferries.

Magic location right on the water at the little marina. The building was amazing - full of history and character. Rooms were beautifully renovated and all with views. Bathroom as big as a bedroom. Breakfast very basic. Tea and coffee need to be available for guests as it is a long way to go to get one. The B&B was a distance from the main part of town - a steep climb - uphill and over 150 steps one way! The best accommodation but not at easy reach to restaurants etc. The instructions to get there are not clear and we got lost. A long walk from the station - there is a bus to the Picclol Marina but we didn't know that at the time. Hostess is a lovely lady and very helpful.

The B&B was delightful. The Marina Piccola was very busy early in the morning and during the day. Quiet at night. Met great people at breakfast. Lots of stairs or rather steep climb on the road to Sorrento. Buses run regularly. We enjoyed the walk. Staff was very accommodating. We extended our stay and stayed in her apartment in a building next to the B&B. Very nice two bedroom apt. - Only negative was up three big flights of stairs. Would recommend this as a clean, very delightful place to stay. Very nicely decorated, nice big bath and own regulated air conditioning.

When we arrived we found it difficult to find and had to rely on locals to direct us. First impressions of the area surrounding the B&B were less than favourable with a scruffy public beach littered with empty bottles, cans etc and seaminly derelict buildings leading upto the door. Unfortunately the door was locked when we arrived and had to wait 20 minutes to gain access. The room was spacious with views over the sea and well kept but found it noisy early morning with ferry/ship horns blaring out from 8am and dogs barking! Coming back to the hotel at night felt a little scary even for a 46 year old man and we were glad to get behind locked doors!

Beautiful historic buildings renovated to interesting cluster of guest rooms and sitting areas. Gorgeous, hip-chic interiors, and world-class sea views from windows. This sea-level Sorrento location is quiet and the friendly proprietress and staff serve a very nice breakfast, Italian style. Would love this for a special family reunion! We enjoyed the climb to town, but there are frequent buses you can take from the Marina.

It's a bit tricky to find, and definitely not for those with mobility issues. However, it was a lovely and relaxing spot. The owner (Roberta) simply couldn't be more helpful or pleasant, and breakfast was great. No matter which of the 4 rooms you get, you'll have a great view of the bay, although one of the larger rooms faces more onto the cliffs than Mt. Vesuvius. Our room had the best views and a small balcony over the beach, but a shower with no bathtub; the other room with a balcony does have a bathtub. Sorrento is soooo charming--like taking a vacation from being on vacation. It's a great base for visiting Capri and Pompeii, even the Archeological Museum in Naples (which totally lived up to its reputation). But frankly, I wish we'd just spent more time wandering around in Sorrento itself.

I wasnt sure of where to go when I arrived in Marina Piccola because there are no signs directing you but I found it after asking a waiter at a nearby restaurant. The place was beautiful! I loved staying there so much that I extended my stay one day. The view from my room was the marina and the Bay of Naples. I would keep the window open and fall asleep to the waves crashing onto the beach!

When you arrive, what she does will keep you feel comfortable even after a long journey. The quitness of room is absolutely excellent. The only thing that stay with you till night is the the sound of wave hitting the shore in front of your room. Highly recommend this property to those who want to escape from the city :)

This is a great place to stay in Sorrento. Great value! It was a little difficult for us to find initially, but once we got there it was perfect. Right on the water, with beautiful views and great hospitality. They were loud working on Marina repairs one AM, but otherwise, very peaceful. Roberta is very nice, gracious and helpful. Sorrento is a peaceful, romantic break from the bigger cities, 20 mins from Pompeii and a great starting pt for the Amalfi Coast tour. Great town to walk and explore!

We found our room to be spacious, clean and comfortable. The view over the marina was fantastic. The location was quiet, even though it was close to the main town, which is either a short ride by by local bus or a 15 minute walk if you don't mind steps! The bathroom was well equipped and the shower was great!. Roberta was very friendly, helpful, and spoke English. We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

We loved the place. Roberta was great. The biggest issue was actually finding the B&B once we arrived at Marina Picolo. We had to ask a few people before someone pointed out that there was a small driveway near the end of a pier to get back to the actual location. The GPS on our car was no help. Once we got there we were more than pleased. The rooms are as big as you can find in Sorrento and it was very easy to get to everything either by using the local bus or walking the steps up to the Plaza.

This B&B is a great get away from the main part of town. It is at the bottom of the cliffs at the marina. Very private and quite. There is bus service from the marina to the top of the cliffs were town center is. There are also lots and lots of stairs. If your in good shap, no problem. The view from your room is breath taking! The owners are very frendly. The rooms and bath are large. An Italian breakfast is included.

This was definitely our favourite accommodation on a month-long trip in Europe... without a doubt. My husband and I stayed at magical Marina Piccola 73 for 4 nights in April. Our lovely and generous hostess and owner, Roberta, did everything to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible by offering assistance whenever we needed it. Anything from a good restaurant to how to get to Pompei or a timetable for the ferries to Capri - Roberta was always happy to help and able to give great expert advice on the area. As for the rooms, they were stunning and spotless - Roberta has done the place up so beautifully. We had the choice of two rooms when we got there; the pink and orange hibiscus rooms (there are photos on her webiste of them)- both were so gorgeous that we had a hard time deciding between the two. We chose the room with the pink hibiscus; it had a french balcony that opened up to the marina with Mt Vesuvius in the background. We sat there each night with a glass of wine, looking out over the sea and watching the sun go down. Roberta brought breakfast to us each morning in the cosy communal dining room (she also offers to bring it to your room if you prefer). Marina Piccola itself is at the bottom of the cliff from the city centre of Sorrento - this was perfect for us, as we wanted to be within short walking distance of the centre of Sorrento, but also have a peaceful tranquil setting (and the idea of also getting a sea-view within our budget was beginning to seem like a pipe-dream). I had spent hours trawling websites and was so excited to find Marina Piccola 73. I had been a bit hesitant to book as it didn't have any reviews (at that stage), but I took the gamble and as you can tell by my glowing report - it really paid off. I will be telling all my friends about this wonderful place and we hope to visit again ourselves. Thank-you Roberta, keep doing what you're doing, you're a beautiful person with a beautiful venue.
