Bed and Breakfast Il Tulipano - Sant'Agnello, Sorrento

Il Tulipano was the highlight of our trip to Italy. We wanted to relax, and thats what we got here. Located up in the hills above Sorrento, it readily accessible by SITA bus, and just far enough outside the city to be away from all tourists and activity. It was a little difficult to find, but once we did boy was it worth the effort. I cannot say enough good things about this B&B. The owner is fantastic. Outgoing and friendly, he was a joy to talk to when we saw him. He went above and beyond to ensure our visit was as pleasurable as possible. he had a map of the public transportation routes posted for us, and explained how to get everywhere we needed (primarily Sorrento and Positano). He was truly gem, and we look forward to staying with him again. As described, the property is about 5km outside sorrento, in the italian hills. There is a SITA bus stop immediately in front of the driveway, so catching a bus was no problem. We were the only foreigners around, and we were able to sit and enjoy italians being italian. There was a little internet cafe across the stree which the owner regularly let us use for free, and we got a kick out of the old italian men sitting outside all day, moving from one side of the street to the other to stay in the shade as the sun moved. The room was clean and spacious, and we ran into the owner or his family every day. The breakfast they served was fantastic, fresh pastry made by his mother, fresh berries from the garden, eggs from his neighbors chickens, the best breakfast we had anywhere. One tip though, when you arrive in Sorrento, call the owner on his mobile (he will provide it in the confirmation email) and he will come pick you up at the train station. The fares cabs in sorrento charge are appalling. Do yourself a favor and stay at il tulipano, you wont regret it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Il Tulipano. Our host was very gracious and hospitable and the breakfast was very generous. We enjoyed the local pizzaria across the road. We would definitely recommend this B&B as good value for money for those people who want a clean and comfortable place to stay

We spent a couple of nights at this B&B and can definitely recommend it to other people who would like to experience the beauty of the Sorrentine peninsula without being immersed in the overly touristic character of Sorrento or Positano. Breakfast was something to look forward to every day and the room we stayed in was airy and had a nice view. Very well worth it.

Ho soggiornato al tulipano nel periodo di fine febbraio di quest anno, il posto non è indicato sulla strada principale, quindi abbiamo avuto un pò di difficoltà a trovarlo, ma alla fine ne è valsa la pena, perchè il b&b è veramente molto accogliente, ottima la colazione e l accoglienza del proprietario..e con tutti quei tulipani e simpaticissimo. la costiera amalfitana è a due passi..lo consiglio anche ai motociclisti come me!

We enjoyed our stay at Il Tulipano immensely. After having some difficulty in finding it we received a warm welcome and were shown to our rooms. Our room was quite lovely with a beautiful view of the sea. The room was bright, spacious and very clean. In the morning we were treated we awoke to a delicious breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful and we would certainly stay at Il Tulipano again.

A great place to stay if you want to visit Sorrento, Positano and all the beaches near them. Very nice people in charge of the hotel and very good breakfast!

Veramente un'ottima accoglienza offerta da ottime persone. Colazione meravigliosa, da ricordare. Il paesino veramente carino e molto tranquillo con una splendida vista sul mare. Ottimi consigli per muoversi, mangiare e visitare ci sono stati dati da tutto il personale. Un posto curato nel dettaglio nel quale ritornare al più presto...

Il Tulipano was absolutely the best place we stayed at in Italy. The room was nice, clean, homie, and its a great Italian breakfast the next day. Make sure you try his moms baked goodies, they are so good. The only drawback of Il tulipano was that its far, but that didnt even matter because Giorgio (the owner) was always on top of things and made sure we got to where we needed on time. If we needed a ride somewhere he was happy to help. He was so good that make my girlfriend forgot her ipod, and he mailed it to us free of charge. Very cool guy, cool place, and a great stay!
