Only stayed one night as our main hotel closed for the winter, but will return to il roseto. I was put off by comments re the long walk along the main road into Sorrento, but it really wasn't so bad. Ten/fifteen minutes to the station and main bus terminus. The beds were the most comfortable of our stay, and the breakfast included the freshest rolls and delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. We wished we had changed hotels sooner!

The place was beautiful, with a great view of the bay from our balcony. A little bit of a walk from downtown, but notso far that it would have been worth driving or taking a bus. The staff were very friendly and provided good information when asked.

Met our expectations overall. The hotel should improve its street appeal, so was better than first expected. The best thing was the breakfast in the beautiful garden setting. The worst thing was perhaps the tiny shower. Location is reasonable - it is a long walk from the town centre.

The owners were incredibly dedicated to providing their guests with the best in terms of making our stay a good one. The hotel was full & we were moved to a larger apt. that was very quiet at no aditional cost to us. The breakfast was one of the best. We really enjoyed our stay here.

My husband and I recently stayed at Il Roseto for seven nights and it was fantastic. The room was spacious, very clean and serviced daily. The owners were very helpful and could not do enough for us. Breakfast was brilliant and included, fresh orange juice, yoghurt, sweet pastries, fresh rolls, eggs, ham and cheese, tea and coffee and fresh fruit - a great start to the day. The walk from the train station (especially with suitcases) was challenging at times because there are, in some places, no footpaths and the cars travel very fast. The walk is manageable but you may consider a taxi to and from the station. I would definately stay at Il Roseto again and have no hesitation in recommending it to other people. Sorrento is a great base from which to explore the wonders and beauty of the Amalfi Coast.

This was a really relaxing and quiet place to stay. We had the apartment for our family of 4 with 2 adult children and the spaciousness of the apartment allowed all of us to feel comfortable. The garden was beautiful for breakfast. This bed and breakfast was a great end to all the site seeing done in other cities before heading back to the states.

We had a very nice stay. Friendly staff, claen rooms, decent breakfast. I would stay there again. My only compliant would be the location, it is at least a 15 minute walk to the action in Sorrento. After a long day we ended up taking taxi's back to the B&B at night, which seemed to be more expensive than other cities in Italy that we stayed in. Maybe closer to town the hotel's are a lot more expensive? So it is a trade off I guess as far as the cost of using taxi's.

Located at the top of a mountain. Great view of the ocean and city(Positano, Italy) below. Hard to get to. It sets some 300 yards or so off the road, down steps and paths. Lots of luggage will present a big problem. Once you leave in the morning, most likely you will stay until you are ready to relax for the rest of the day. Take the bus or descend 1700 steps to the road and then walk half mile to town. Young person's place. Good operators. Friendly and helpful.

I gave Il Roseta a perfect score of 10. We were 3 women travelling Italy and chose Sorrento not only because it is beautiful but also as a base for Pompei, Capri etc. We booked the apartment as we wanted to cook and although the apartment does not have bay views it does look over the beautiful garden. The apartment was immaculate and enough items in the mini kitchen to cook a casual meal. We looked forward to breakfast every morning. Fresh orange juice, fabo rolls and pastries, eggs + cold meats all washed down with good coffee. Tonino, Mariella & Michele were exceptional hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Genuinely lovely & caring people. If you travel to Sorrento by train would suggest getting a cab to the B&B as footpaths in places not adequate to be wheeling luggage and maybe a little far with heavy luggage. No luggage - walking to and from Sorrento, pier or train stations not a problem. Tonino recommended Il Poeta Ristorante. Fabo. Close to B&B, good food, great service and very resonable. Choose Il Roseta. You couldn't possibly be disappointed.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Bed and Breakfast Il Roseto. The room/bathroom was extremely clean and the beds comfortable. We received fresh towels daily. The facility has beautiful flowers, plants, and orange & lemon trees and it is located in a peaceful, quiet area of town. Breakfast was extremely tasty and included coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, assorted sweet pastries, bread, cheese and meats, fruit, and yogurt. The owners (two families) were very nice and helpful with restaurant suggestions. The walk to the train station was a short trip about 10 minutes or so. We would stay at the Bed and Breakfast Il Roseto again!

W e are very satisfied with this B&B. One point to be taken into account is that if people are coming by train and have luggage, it is better to take a taxi. This is because although the B&B is not far away from the station, side walks are very narrow and in some places unexistant, and cars go by very fast. If something could be improved, is that I didn't like plastic tablecloths in the breakfast area. However this is a minor comment. The garden is gorgeous, and in warm weather they serve breakfast in the garden. Our room was neat and spaceous with a magnificent view to the mountains. I highly recommend this B&B. DK, Argentina

Excellent B&B, about midway between Sorrento and Sant'agnello train stations. The Sant'agnello station was closer and easier to access. Breakfast was very good - coffee, fresh squeezed OJ, yogurt, and pastries. Rooms were clean and quiet. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit Sorrento, Pompei, or anywhere else in the vicinity.

Il Roseto is a lovely property with very neat clean, even pretty rooms. The family that runs it is kind and friendly. They even went out of their way to personally drive us to a fabulous restaurant that I am sure most tourists would never find! They also arranged for the drive back to the property no matter what time we left the restaurant....and no charge, by the way! Il Roseto is located a bit north of the hubbub of the main square, a bit of a walk, but not bad. It is also set in a little from the main road which is nice, but would make it slightly harder to find I would think...by car. But worth the looking. (We took a cab from the train station that knew where it was.) We loved breakfast in the garden, the beautiful view of the hills in the distance from our room. Again, the folks who ran it were wonderful with spot on recommendations and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Driving in Sorrento can be difficult. Signage to B&B is very difficult to find. When you enter Sorrento look for train bridge about 50 meters futher you will see the Girasol hotel. B&B is right there. Michael was there to meet us ans was a great host. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. (Even gave us fresh cherries from his own garden). Great views and close to transport systems.

This is our first trip to Sorrento. Our stay at Il Rosetto was excellent. The rooms, the staff (co-run by two families), the breakfasts, and the outdoor garden/eating area were excellent. We would stay there again and would recommend it to our friends.

Il Roseto met our needs very well. The service was very professional and polite, the proprietor happy to share local knowledge with us despite our brief stay. We were only stopping over in Sorrento on our way over to Minori, but we would like to have stayed for longer. The only negative really is that it is quite difficult to find. Driving from the North, you have around 1 second (no exaggeration) to notice the sign for the Il Roseto on the Right hand side. We were lucky to notice it, but had to carry on and turn round. Not terrible, but more explicit directions required.

A great value for money. Very warm welcome. the hosts provided us with good advise for every day we spent in the region. Breakfast was good. Location is about 15-20 off Sorrento center, which is quiet and good. All daily needs are within a few minutes walk. One comment about finding the place: just 50 m after the train bridge that welcomes you into Sorrent, on your right (absolutly no train noise though). Thanks for the pleasant stay.

We were three couples travelling as part of a 50th birthday celebration and received excellent hospitality at Il Roseto. The rooms were very clean and all looked out onto the lemon trees. Wonderful stay at Il Roseto. Our problem was finding it as we arrived by car at night (beautiful night in Sorrento and the Amalfitan Coast by the way). So I called the B&B and the host went all the way into the main street to signal us in. The place is kind of hidden, so it´s kind of hard to find if you´re coming at night. But our stay was wonderful! Great italian mood, the rooms were great (with bathrooms in the room) and the morning breakfast was really more than I expected! If you´re coming to Sorrento, I recommend Il Roseto

This place was an incredible deal. In January, the rate was 65 euros/night. We had a large room on the top floor with a huge, private balcony w/views of Naples Bay and Vesuvius. The owners, 2 brothers and their families, couldn't have been nicer. Breakfast was served in their large kitchen, and included fresh orange juice from their trees. We changed our reservation at the last minute, and it wasn't a problem. Loved the room, and Sorrento so much that we stayed 3 nights instead of one. We would definitely return to Il Roseto!

This hotel was the best we inhabited while in Italy. The location was good, only a fifteen minute walk to the center of town. Services offered by the hotel included tickets to the Circumvesuviana train and the Amalfi coast buses, use of their laptop computer and spare electrical converters. The owners are incredibly kind and accommodating. They provided friendly service and delicious breakfasts including local pastries, espresso, coffee or tea, and fresh squeezed juice from their orange grove. The rooms were clean and bright and all have a private patio. The bathrooms are very tidy and seem new, and are provided with hair driers and fluffy towels. We felt very comfortable staying in this hotel.

Great place to stay. If you have bags, we suggest not walking to get there. It's a little bit far from the train station. On a day to day basis, it's not bad (10-15 min walk to city center), but if you have heavy bags it can seem quite far.

We had a spacious room, decent sized bathroom and enjoyed the breakfast each day. Only negative was the distance from the hotel to the center of town and desirable restaurants. Rooms and bathroom were exceptinally clean. description of location should suggest travellors disembark the circumvesuvia at the San Agnelo (?) station, the one before Sorrento. It's closer to the B&B. the owner suggested it to us and it is a lot better. The walk is also less busy. The walk from town square to hotel is a good 15 minutes but there's plenty of buses. I suggest taking the bus, because the walk is not that pleasant. the sidewalk comes and goes. the pool next door that guests can use for 5 euros is gorgeous. Breakfast is very nice, included yogourt, a basket of pastries and coffee (cappucino, latte or espresso) and service very prompt

Wonderful place to stay in Sorrento. Usedit as a base for Pompeii and Capri and could not have been happier. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the center of Sorrento (busy sidewalks which I would not recommend for anyone who is mobility impaired). The building was recently remodeled and is very well-appointed. Our room (Vesuvius) had a great terrace with a view of the Bay of Naples). Recommend staying here unconditionally - and we are picky. Also, do not miss dining at Caruso's Ristorante in Sorrento. Expensive, but an amazing meal.

This was an excellent B&B. Would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to others. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room looked out onto a lemon orchard with the trees covered in lemons. Breakfast was very good - nice rolls, breakfast pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice. Great coffee. The only problem was finding it. The map we printed from the Venere website had the B&B on the south side of the road and it's on the north side! Also the sign on the gate was more easily seen for people coming from St. Agnello (the next town to the east of Sorrento) and we walked from the Sorrento train station (this walk is sometimes challenging because of heavy traffic and the sidewalk gets very narrow at times). However, the location is an easy 10 - 15 minute walk into downtown. Sorrento is a good hub for visiting other sites (Amalfi, Pompeii, Capri) by public transportation - which has to be cheaper and less stressful than driving here.

Our family was very happy with our stay at Il Roseto. Michael was a wonderful host with excellent recommendations on where to go and where to eat. The breakfast was incredibly good, the best our our tour of Italy. Fresh pastries, cafe and caps, fresh squeezed OJ. The room was large, comfortable with a nice bath. The grounds are under renovation and will soon be beautiful again. Highly recommend the Il Roseto and will stay again in the future. We went to Positano on the bus for the day and it was a great day. Il Rosetto is a lovely little, family-run, place in Sorrento. It is, however, more than a few steps from St.Agnello train stop. It takes about 10 minutes(take the right with your back to the station). It's a leisurely 10 minute walk to P.Tasso too, hence very quiet and an ideal place to stay in. Our window opened out onto the lemon grove and mountains in the distance. Beautiful! The breakfast could have been better but is ok.

Il Roseto is a clean, beautifully furnished family run B & B. Michael and Tony make every effort to make ones stay a very pleasant one. Every morning we were served a lovely breakfast with Gorgeous Italian espresso and freshly squeezed orange from their own garden, the terraces are surrounded by lovely plants and lemon trees and everyday we were given fresh towels for the Pool which is a 2 minute walk through beautifully planted gardens. Tony stayed up until midnight on the night of our arrival as we got lost on the way from Rome, and was so kind as to let sleep in beyond breakfast next day and still serve delicious pastries and coffee to us on our own little terrace. He also brought us to a cliff top restaurant that we would never have found on our own. Nothing was too much trouble for either him or Michael. Il Roseto is safe, warm and friendly I would advise young & old alike to visit, it is a nice walk from Piazza Tasso every evening, but yet far enough away from the maddening crowd if you so desire. I would definately return to Il Roseto as it felt like Home from home, which I feel there is no greater comparison or compliment.

Il Roseto was everything that we had hoped for and more. The "junior suite" was spacious and simply but nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable, bathroom had a decent shower, and the well-appointed kitchenette added a homey touch. We really looked forward to breakfast in the family kitchen each morning. The owner, Michael, went out of his way to make us comfortable. Besides the fresh squeezed orange juice, cappucino, and delicious pastries, he provided one of us who can't eat wheat with gluten free crackers. The whole family was incredibly hospitable. The only problem for us was the location. The walk to and from town at night was very unpleasant due to narrow and disappearing sidewalks, leaving us close to heavy traffic and diesel fumes. Otherwise, we loved our stay and would highly recommend Il Roseto. If you take the train there, use the Sant'Agnello stop as it is closer that the Sorrento station.

Il Roseto was the highlight of our trip. Tony and Michael are very sweet and welcome you into their home like you are family. The rooms are extremely clean and inviting, very spacious and tastefully decorated. The family is very accomodating, when we went to Capri for one night they held our baggage for us until we arrived back the next day, and then drove us to the train station, even though we had already checked out of their B&B. I would highly reccomend this quaint little quiet place to anyone who was staying in Sorrento, even for just 1 night.

Very good little B&B. The rooms are quiet, well appointed, good decor/furniture and very clean, as good as some 4star rooms we've stayed in. The owners are also very kind and helpful. It's about 20-25mins walk to the centre of Sorrento along a busy road (with a slightly longer less busy back route) with easy access to stations and buses. It has parking which is a big benefit if you are staying in Sorrento. I would recommend Il Roseto to anyone wanting good accommodation at a keen price that reflects the little bit of a walk to the centre of Sorrento

We really enjoyed our stay at Il Roseto. The (triple)room was clean and quiet and we felt right at home. A very nice breatkfast of assorted rolls, juice and coffee was served in a pretty garden area with lemon and orange trees surrounding. Tony was a wonderful and gracious host. He even rushed out to get us an early breakfast when he learned we had to leave for the train station early on our last morning. He also gave us a rides in his personal car on two occasions - one day to the marina and on our last day to the train station - a free service for his guests. The room was somewhat plain, but perfectly clean, and the bathroom was beautiful (and large for Europe) with very nice tile work, and a very good shower. The only downside of Il Roseto is it's distance from the main area of town and train station. It's no problem for walking unless you're carrying or dragging your luggage. The sidewalks vary considerably in construction and width between downtown and the property. Suggest a taxi or calling Tony for a ride instead of hiking it.

Breakfast was above average for Italy - fresh orange juice and a good selection of rolls and croissants. The nicest place that we stayed on our trip.

I stayed here with family and a friend and it was amazing. I had been to Sorrento twice before, but from now on I will only stay at Il Roseto. The staff was so amazingly generous, friendly, and helpful. It was a wonderful experience and I encourage everyone to book their stay at this bed and breakfast...oh and also the breakfast was super delicious. Great coffee, orange juice, and pastries!!! Happy traveling!
