Bed and Breakfast Il Platano - Piano di Sorrento, Sorrento

First time staying here and felt very welcome and looked after. Would have no troubles going back again or recommending it to anyone.

Il Platano is an excellent b and b. The owner is a very gentle and serious person. It was a very good experience to stay there.

Nice and quiet location, easy parking, 10 minutes walk to sorrento centre bus stop, not all rooms with view, no internet during course of my stay, pleasant hosts.

Be prepared to walk! Bus and train up to 10 mins brisk walk, and always home up hill! Piano di Sorrento itself does not offer much to tourists. You need to go by bus or train into Sorrento itself, though I did not mind this. Last bus and train back at night was 11.15pm. Public transport is cheap and frequent! The host is obliging, and breakfast is adequate. The room again adequate, and clean. This is not luxury, but cheap and cheerful and reasonable value. For the little time I spent there during my week, I was quite happy with it.If you are looking for somewhere to relax on the premises rather than going out, then it might not suit.

Our only real problem with this location was the fact that the owners both smoked and we had to find ways to avoid the smoke. Had we not been able to do that we would not have stayed.

As a B&B in a family home this is OK but far too expensive. Breakfast was poor, the rooms were not serviced and were of a low standard, however the home owner was friendly but spoke little English. The main problem is the location. This is a 20euro taxi from Sorrento or a 15 mins walk and then a 10 mins train ride into Sorrento. You can do far better for 80euros per night, this is only worth 50euros per night at best.

Ideal für Besuche der Bucht von Neapel. Ruhige Lage, geräumiges Zimmer mit großem privatem Bad. Nur ca. 10 Minuten Fußweg zum Bahnhof der Circumvesuviana. Parken unproblematisch.

The owners of the accommodation Il Platano are very nice and friendly and everytime helpful people. They served an excellent breakfast to a time, which I could wish. The house is located in a park, so I had every time a perfect parking-place for my car. It is a nice place for a stay next to Sorrento.

The room reserved us was so spaciousness and comfortable that seemed an apartment itself. Also it was very quiet and clean, and well furnished too. Breakfast was gorgeous- all kind of foods was served in abudance. We'd like to point out the owner was hospitable and discreet. Highly recommended to all.

Non ci siamo trovati molto bene... stanza piccola e malfunzionante e piena di oggetti del proprietario, tra l'altro mancava intimità in quanto la camera confinava con il salone della casa e il terrazzo era in comune... una brutta soluzione per essere un B&D.

Schwer zu finden !! ( aus Richtung Neapel nach ca. 400 m hinter Ortseingangsschild links den Berg hoch Richtung Amalfi/Positano , an der Kirche dann wieder links -Straßenschild nicht lesbar - ca. 300 m auf der rechten Seite) Vermieter waren freundlich , Zimmer einfach aber sehr sauber ; ideale Ausgangslage für Ausflüge an der Amalfiküste

Siamo stati molti bene, grazie anche alla gentilezza della signora Tatiana di grande disponibilità. Forse l'unica difficoltà è stata nel trovare l'ubicazione, ma per il resto il soggiorno è stato davvero piacevolissimo.

Typical B&B, clean room with nice balcony but no view. Good breakfast, very nice hosts who picked us up at the station. Unfortunately not very close to the coast and to Sorrento - so either walking or bus.

The map on the website was extremely poor. Once the apartment block was found, we were unable to contact the apartment as the buzzer at the gate did not work. We were under the impression from the website that we would be staying in an apartment on our own (not a room in someone else's apartment!). The owners, although very friendly, spoke no English and both were smokers. Clearer information about the location as well as the accommodation (including smoking) are needed on the website.

Great place, great people. Breakfast was good and filling. Very clean and helpful host. I would recommend it to my friends, and I would stay here again if i go back to the Sorrento coast.
