This is an amazing B&B in a mountain side setting with a view of the Sea. The breakfasts included local cheeses and traditional baked goods and even a bottle of wine made from their own grapes. Great trails to walk for backpackers. Remarkable hostess who was warm and welcoming. We felt like we were friends who came for a visit. She even drove us to a nearby pizza resturant which was the best in our three week stay in Italy. The local resturant was an easy walk also and served excellent meals. The area feels like old Italy with narrow roads and beautiful stone homes and lots of gardens, grape vines and olive trees. My husband is an artist and he took a ton of photos for future paintings.

The B&B is just perfect for a stay near Sorrento/Vico Equense. There is a busstop in front of the B&B which stops at the railwaystation of Vico Equense. The train frequently goes to Naples/Pompei/Sorrento etc. The owners of the B&B are very helpful en very friendly. The nearby restaurant (75 meters) is a great place to enjoy good quality italian food.

B&B Cassiopea is the reason for why, given a choice, I would always prefer to stay at a B&B while on vacation in Southern Europe, leaving big, fancy and impersonal hotels for business trips. If you don’t have friends or family you can visit and stay with in Penisola Sorrentina, Cassiopea is as close as it gets to a genuinely local and personal holidays experience. Our hostess, Caterina, would prepare the freshest and tastiest breakfast you can wish for – various local cheeses, freshly squeezed orange juice, cakes and fruit, delicious bread. She would also discreetly guide you to the best spots on the peninsula, give driving tips and make reservations if necessary. Our double room on the first floor was spacious and spotlessly clean; the same goes for the bathroom. The B&B location is somewhat remote from the peninsula’s key towns and sites (15 mins to Sorrento and 25 mins to Amalfi coast by car) – but considering how crowded, jammed and overpriced those key spots can be – staying slightly away from them in picturesque hilly surroundings of Preazzano village is a certain advantage. Here are three restaurants in the vicinity of Cassiopea that we ate at, as recommended by Caterina: Pizzeria "Castellano" in Arola, 1 km from the B&B – unquestionably serve the best Neapolitan pizzas in the world. Ristorante Frate Cosimo, 200 m away from the B&B - became our favorite restaurant. In addition to absolutely fresh and delicious meals, many being fish and shellfish dishes, we enjoyed an excellent service and attention offered by the owner, who seemed to enjoy himself observing his guests having great time and appreciating the food. Tratorria "Torre Ferano", 600 m away from the B&B – we were slightly less enthusiastic about this place (although recommended by the Osterie & Locande D’Italia guide) as compared to Frate Cosimo, but it still served a fairly good food, had a delightful view over the bay of Naples and a lively atmosphere.

This is a magnificent place to stay, when you find it. No road signs. Ignacio was a wonderful host and very friendly. Breakfast was great, Caterina makes the best marmalade and jam. Be warned on you drive up, if you meet a vehicle before a corner and he honks at you, THERE IS A BUS COMING!!!!! We will return to Cassiopea for future visits.

They should include a map, where there are a closer view with the street names, and surrounding villages to be easily get there. At the hotel there was a very useful map, it should be scanned somehow, with marking the proposed way to reach the hotel.

When I booked this B&B, I thought it was on the sea a bit out of town. What was a suprise was that is was in the hills overlooking the sea and town. It takes a bus to get there, but that is no problem if you have the time, about a 45 minute trip. At night, the 9:40 bus did not appear and we started to walk to the B&B with a local resident, but then waved down the bus going in the opposite direction, but did arrive at the B&B by 11:30. Initially the bus driver did not know where to direct us to the entrance, but we did find it in this very small village in the hills. Everything was wonderful about our stay---the hosts very friendly and helpful, and the first day she took us to the town in her car so we would not have to wait for the bus. The setting is lovely, the breakfast very good!!! I certainly would recommend this B&B, but know it is in the hills.

We stayed 3 days at the Bed & Breakfast Cassiopea during our 1st of May holidays in the region. Our room was very nice, absolutely clean, quiet, resonable space, with a nice view. The owners, Ignacio and Caterina, are extremely kind and welcoming. We had a very authentic breakfeast, with exquisite products from the region. The location is so picturesque, with the hills covered with olive trees and breathtaking views capturing Capri and Ischia. A true felling of Campania. We just LOVED IT! We didn't have problems to arrive following the previous indications from Ignacio by phone. The small road to the hotel is indeed narrow, but we never felt unsafe, driving cautiously is enough. My boyfriend did actually enjoy the adventure of driving around there and on the Amalfi Coast. Overall Peninsola Sorrentina and Amalfi Coast are among the most beautiful places on earth, everybody should one day have the oportunity to see. The B&B Cassiopea is certainly an excellent affordable place to stay in the region. We just recommend it!

If you're staying in only one Bed & Breakfast in your entire life, this is it. The hosts must be among the most warm-hearted, welcoming and helpful people in all of Italy. The only down-side is that it's location is a bit off the beaten path. This is made up for with amazing scenery and a breathtaking view from the terrazza where you'll be having your breakfast.

We loved the Casseiopeia. As others have said, the only difficulty is finding it. Stay on the main road past Vico Equense, and turn onto regional road R. Bosco just past the sign for the Moon Valley Resort. 8km up the road, you'll be there. Breakfasts were spectacular, as were views of the peninsula and bay. Ignacio and Caterina are delightful hosts, very friendly and welcoming to us and our two children. I highly recommend this place.

Fortunately my husband made a map on Mapquest to help find Cassiopea. The road was narrow and winding and on occassion I had to honk the horn before entering the curve. The best thing about this road is it took us to this FANTASIC Bed and Breakfast. Our room was very large and both the room and the bathroom were spotless. We couldn't have asked for nicer hosts. The breakfast was outstanding and consisted of many homemade and typical foods of the region. We hope to return someday. We will recommend Cassiopea to all our friends and relatives.

This is an amazing bed and breakfast-- its only drawback is that it's hard to find if you are not familiar with the territory (a much better map with explicit directions would be very useful). That said, I recommend Cassiopea to anyone who wants beautiful surroundings, charming and helpful proprietors, and a refuge from the frenzy of Naples and the Amalfi coast. The rooms are a bit small, but the hospitality is very large indeed and the setting is glorious.

We were on the ground floor next to the kitchen and with a smoked glass door between our bedroom and the stairs. This meant the room didn't feel perfectly quiet or private as people walked past on the stairs in the night and we could hear breakfast being prepared - even though we could tell they were trying to be quiet. However, the room was big and very clean and well-equipped, we could use the kitchen and fridge, and once we got used to the small disturbance, we didn't mind. The owners were extremely kind and we felt very welcome. Breakfast was superb. As the road up to Cassiopea is narrow, winding, and potentially a risk to your vehicle, we would recommend leaving your car at Cassiopea and using the bus (1 euro for a ticket if you buy it in town/1.20 if you buy on the bus, or 2.20 for a day ticket for use on local trains too (Pompei/Sorrento etc)). We did nearly all the local sites using public transport which was both easy and cheap. Also recommended, the pizza a metro in Vico Equense - especially a take-away which is cheaper (only about 5 euros for two people), and you can go and watch the sun go down. All in all we were very happy with our stay and would use Cassiopea again. Highly recommended.

Great Host! Very helpful!!! Best in our 2-week trip to Italy! Newly renovated B&B. Beautiful terrace with gorgeous view of the coast - on top of the hill. Therefore also pretty hard to reach on a very narrow winding road. The good part is that if you don't want to use your car everyday there is bus to take you down to Vico, beach, train station etc... The good part of the location is the tranquility and quietness of the place - you can sleep like a baby! Great breakfast also! fresh fruits and cheese! Thank you Miriam, Caterina, and Iganzio!

The place is far away from touristic crowds and urban noise. It has a very nice and harmonic atmosphere. The owners of the B&B are wonderful: kind and very helpful persons. Family run B&B in beautiful surroundings up in the hills above Vico Equense. Quiet, clean, hospitable and very friendly. The bus drive from Vico Equense is an experience in itself. Only three rooms, each with private bathroom. Ask for the room on the first floor with its view of the Bay of Naples and Capri. The best breakfast on our Italian holiday - home made jam, fresh bread, pastry and local produce. A place we would very much like to return to.

This is a must, a magnificent view of all the amalfi and sorrento coast plus excellent breakfast made of 100% bio fruits, cheese, bread, homemade jam.

Revelation! Casiopea is very nice place for rest. Breakfast is very tasty and ample, clear and quiet room, wonderfull view from terrace. :-( It belongs to prepare map with approach, but pay arrive.

The property is not easy to locate, at first. The owner met us in a convenient location and we followed her to the property. She fixed us a very nice snack upon arrival. Quite needed and very unexpected. There were plenty of materials in the common area for reading if needed (English & Italian). A bus comes by the property several times daily and driving was unnecessary. We had no trouble getting around after we started riding the bus. The view from the terrace is spectacular. The owner has a chalkboard where each party writes the time they would like breakfast. Breakfast was fresh fruits, walnuts and cheese along with breads and pastries with juice, coffee, tea and water. Very tasty and filling. We had a washer available and a rack for air drying our laundry. There is a fabulous restaurant a short walk down the road.

Very warm welcome by Ignazio. Super breakfast. Beautiful view from the terrace overlooking the gulf of Sorrente. If you like cities, don't go to Cassiopea. It is a quiet place in a rural area. It is challenging to find you way to the village (Preazzano), no sign on the road, no sign naming villages. So: the only solution is to ask locals and practise your Italian. Once there you have deserved your reward: an excellent meal in the nearby restaurant (100 meters from the Cassiopea)(real top class with fresh tartuffo on the menu: like a 4 star French restaurant!) and an unforgettable welcome. I recommend to all italian-speaking nature and good food lovers who want good value for money.

We arrived later than expected but our welcome was fantastic, warm and very much appreciated. The people were extremely friendly and helpful and very accommodating. If there was anything we needed or wanted to know they were there to give it to us or explain it to us. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast that was included was interesting, tasted great and was plenty of it. If we were to be staying in the same area again i would definately stay at Cassiopea again and would certainly recommend this B&B to anyone wishing to stay in that area.

Bed and breakfast Cassiopeia is excellent and the hosts are very nice. The breakfast is tremendous. The photographs on Venere.com are bad because they do not show how nice it really is (and the view from the terrasse!!). We were lost in the mountains finding the house for the first time (coming from the airport from Napoli), and you need to have strong nerves to drive a car up there. But when you're used to that its superb at this very Italian, quiet old house (but interior is new!).

This was a wonderful place to spend a few nights at Amalfi. Our only problem was finding it ! A much more detailed map would be a great help - as would some road signs and a sign on the outside of the hotel. The owner and his family were very welcoming and helpful - referred us to the best restaurant we ate in during our entire trip to Italy.

We frankly have found a really good B&B. The welcoming is friendly, the location ideal and the view from the terrace is splendid. Ignazio and Caterina will prepare you a divine breakfast each morning and will always try to be helpful. As for the rooms, they're wide (but one has no window) and are always very clean. The only drawback of this B&B is that it's hard to find and reach. You have to be an italian driver accustomed to mountain roads to come. So be cautious ! As a matter of fact it's really on top, 20-30 mns far from the center of the lovely town of Vico Equense. Therefore it'll take you more than half an hour to go by car to Pompei, Sorrento or the amalfi Coast (when you have no traffic jam...) and a lot more to reach Naples. You can also go everywhere by bus, train and boat, but you'll need at least 1 hour or 2. Besides this everything was excellent and we warmly recommand this homely B&B, whose price is very low.

We spent 6 nights at Cassiopea. The Bed & Breakfast is situated in a little village in the mountains, not far from Vico Equense. The local bus service links the train station with Preazzano every 30 minutes. The B & B is in an old builing what is carefully renovated. The owners are very nice and try to help you in every way they can. We had booked a double room, but in fact we lived in a little appartment. We had two bedrooms with 5 beds on two floors and a bathroom. The appartment was cleaned every day and the towels (more you ever could use) were changed after 3 days. We had breakfast every morning on the terasse with a view of the golf of Sorrent. For breakfast we had coffee, tea, milk, fresh orange juice, 1 kg mixed fresh fruits, bread, nutella, jam and fresh cake. For dinner you can go to the next village, there is a very good restaurant for a reasonable price. Unfortunately the kitchen in the B & B is not ready yet. So we just bought frest food in the supermarket and ate it on the terrasse. I really would recommend this B & B! It is wonderful situated, the owners are very nice and you get better service than in a hotel.
