Bed and Breakfast Casa Stefania - Meta, Sorrento

We had a pleasant holiday in Casa Stefania. The only problem is that without car it takes about nearly an hour to get to the center of Sorrento. If you like a very quite holiday it is just the right place to be !

After a very heartily welcome we made the ten minutes walk to the small city centre where you can find small shops and the bus station to Sorrent and a further short walk of 5 min brings you to a supermarket. The casa is on a very strong used street what makes it very noisy. The pictures suggest a garden but the house has only a small gardenlike area and a terrace in front of the owners apartment (very nice to sit for breakfast but not for use in the late evening). As the building is a part of other buildings which share the small area you can’t sit outside for long in the night. As it was extremely hot the light breeze outside was the only cooling. The apartment was on the third floor under the roof, very sticky and as a surprise the air condition was not included in the rent price what we felt as a bit of swindle because of the heat, the not flowing air in the apartment and the stinky surrounding areas as there was chicken keeping or sth like this. For the same price we could have booked an apartment where the AC was included – as we experienced this as standard in Naples and during the search for the apartment we never had the idea that this would bring space for additional costs. The apartment was stated for 4 people. The sleeping room itself was good but for the other 2 people who had a couch in the room where the open kitchenette, the fridge and the table where placed it was extremely tiny. You should bring adapters as otherwise you have to decide to run the fridge, the coffee machine or the toaster (the second socket is on the ground). So if you really would like to service yourself you had to be flexible. We can only recommend the casa to people with grounded expectations that like to go early to bed.

A very warm welcome and a very helpful presence during all our stay. Situated at about 10 walking minutes from the train station and the basilica ; and about 10 minutes by train to go to Sorrento.

Stefania was absolutely lovely. She has beautiful taste, and her whole home reflects this. The only problem we had while there is that there was a window that didn't close between our closet and the bathroom of the other family staying there. This meant that we could hear them every time they walked into the bathroom. We would have preferred more privacy for both families. We also ran out of hot water when the other family had an extended bath time for their three children.

Warm welcome from Stefania! Do not try to find the place by yourself - call Stefania when you arrive at Meta. Bar Romano is the focal point of the area. The use of the kitchenette is not included in the price of the room. Wonderful garden... a piece of Eden: flowers, lemons, oranges, birds singing! Your host will give you all the information you need! If you wish to walk to the main street, some of the pedestrian lanes may look like private ways but they are not.

The extra money for using the cooking corner wasn't mentioned on the internet page. The price of the breakfast of 5 Euro per person and day is not adequate for what has been served.
