We enjoyed our stay at B&B Mazzola. Ugo and Luigi were the perfect hosts. They made us feel welcome helped us to be familiar with the area. The only problem we had was that the rooms we were supposed to have were not available when we arrived. So we had to sleep 3 people in one room and that made it uncofortable. But if I ever went back to Sorrento, I would stay there again.

We had some difficulty calling for a pick up from the train station since we didn't have a phone and none of the pay phones outside the train station worked, but after borrowing a mobile/cell phone from some teenagers, Luigi quickly came and picked us up. (Don't waste your money on a taxi, as they wanted to charge us 20 euros). We were a bit concerned how far the B&B was from the town center as we climbed the mountain to the house but when we saw the view outside our room, we knew we had picked the right place! Luigi and his son Hugo were super friendly and helpful. The first night, Luigi drove us to a great local restaurant and made arrangements for one of the restaurant workers to bring us back to the hotel after dinner. He also placed a pizza delivery order for us there the next night and gave us a bottle of wine to drink with our meal. Luigi also suggested that we go to Capri the last full day we were there when we were just going to go down to the local "beach." He drew us a map of where to go and we were very grateful as we avoided a lot of wasted time figuring out what to do. Who needs a tour guide or Rick Steves' guidebooks when you stay with such wonderful hosts like Luigi and Hugo? We look forward to coming back again!

Luigi and Ugo were the most gracious and accommodating hosts. Their knowledge of the area and expert advice added immeasurably to our vacation and site-seeing agenda. Breakfasts each morning were delicious and we enjoyed friendly conversation with our hosts and other guests. The location was perfectly off the beaten path yet easily accessible to Sorrento, the Amalfi coast, Pompeii and Vesuvius. We would recommend Casa Mazzola to all of our friends and wouldn't stay anywhere else if we return to that region.

This was a perfect place to stay. Our room was lovely with a breathtaking view and the very nicest bathroom we saw in all of Italy. Luigi was our host and he and his son take pride in providing for everything you could possibly need including suggestions for the best way to see the area, maps, and detailed directions. Breakfast was delicious and it included home made baked goods...yummy lemon and coconut cake! We did not have a car but we had no trouble getting around. We used bus and train and Luigi and his son shuttled us when needed. I would definitely go back here and stay longer. Wow!!!

Luigi and Ugo are gracious hosts. Very charming and welcoming. Breakfast was satisfying. Luigi's wife made homemade lemon cake that was outstanding. Luigi was very informative and helpful about the area. His recommendations and directions were spot on. We would recommend this family run location to anyone. The view of the Bay of Naples from our terrace caused us to bring food back each night so as to enjoy the sunsets and views!

I hate to give a mixed review as the host was very nice and the location had strong pluses and minuses both. great view, quaint atmosphere but the beds were too hard and the neigborhood had numerous dogs which barked all night. All their guests commented on this issue over which the owner has no control. Access is a little awkward from the street and the road not easy, a feature of the Sorrento area roads. Most clients spoke English. THe owners were very helpful and are trying to make a living with the half dozen units. It is not posh, verges towards the campy but if you like out of the ordinary it's ok when the dogs shut up.

Great room and a great view of the bay of Naples. Homebacked cake for breakfast. The owner, Luigi, and his familiy were more than helpfull, by making maps and plans for day-trips and giving great food-recommendations. The shuttle-service for people without car or too drunk too drive was also outstanding.

This is the place you want to be!!!! Luigi and Ugo are amazing hosts, we honestly felt like we were staying with family. The room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was awesome (best coffee we had the whole time we were on vacation). Both Luigi and Ugo gave us great advice on places to go and answered all our questions. If you really want to enjoy your vacation and have some peace when you go back to your room after a day of shopping and touring the city, this is the place for that! we are definitely coming back for more!!! once you get there and see the wall full of notes and postcards from former guests you will understand what i am talking about. Casa Mazzola was one of my all time favourite B&B's EVER! Luigi and his son Ugo were really very very good hosts. They are genuinely friendy. The really make big efforts to make your stay as pleasant as possible. If you are wondering where you can go to, they are always prepared to offer you some ideas as well as some practical information how to get there, what to see or not to see, how much it will cost etc... They can also advice you were to get to, to find some hidden spots which are REALLY beautiful. The view from the terrace of our room was really breath-taking. An enormous view over the town of Santagnello, with the bay of Napoli and the Vesuvius in the distance. The B&B is on a hill, which makes the view fantastic. We had a little car to get up the mountain, but Luigi or Ugo are prepared to pick you up at the the town of Santagnello (which you can easily acces by train/bus). I REALLY CAN ADVICE PEOPLE TO STAY HERE IF THEY ARE THINKING OF COMING TO THE PENINSULA OF SORRENTO/AMALFICOAST. I cannot imagine there's a better place to stay than with Luigi & Ugo. Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful trip (we stayed for 8 days). Not only because of the beautiful area of Sorrento, but also because of the fantastic place Casa Mazzola is!!!!

Casa Mazzola deserves a "10" rating. Tucked away high above the Bay of Naples in a quiet part of Sorrento, it has all the charm and character one could wish for, PLUS a view to die for! Luigi and Ugo were wonderful hosts from the moment we arrived. Their recommendations about what to see, where to enjoy wonderful Italian food, the best way to see all parts of the Amalfi Coast, Naples, etc. made our short stay perfect. You could not wish for a nicer place on the Amalfi Coast than Casa Mazzola. Thank you. Mary Sloan and Scott Dressel

We stayed at Casa Mazzola for 3 nights. Unfortunately I got sick while we were there, but the proprietor Luigi very kindly took care of me whenever my family was out. He and his son Ugo also gave us rides into town and gave us all kinds of helpful information about the area. The two of them were the best hosts we've ever had at a B&B!

The owners Ugo & Luigi are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Beautiful view. The other guests were friendly as well. Nice atmosphere. Beautiful room. If you don't have a rental car, you will need to get a ride to go into town, but it is not far to get to the train or buses. Ugo and Luigi are helpful to providing rides into town I would definitely go back. ps Limoncello is excellent.

This is the best hotel that I have ever stayed in my life! The owner and his son were so amazing! When we were not sure how to get there, his son came to our car to navigate to his hotel. The room that we got had the best view ever! The moment we had to leave, we wanted to turn around and go back.... It has beautiful views of Vesuvius in the distance and a rather panoramic view of the ocean, Napoli and Sorrento, being high on the mountain road. It's just so beautiful! The owner has very creative ideas about the decoration. It was decorated with amazing things all over the hotel. I took so many pictures at this hotel. Our room was very big and has a theme of the ocean. Their hospitality was off the charts, and have really worked hard to make the stay there something that you will never forget. You can tell that they really care about you. Every morning, he squeezed oranges to make fresh orange juice. They gave us a ride to the port, and gave the tips how to get around. When we got the problem, the owner's son spent extra time to help us out. We really feel that we left our hearts in their place! This is the hotel everyone should stay in Sorrento!

Amazing. I LOVED every minute here! Luigi was so welcoming and helpful- even met us at the bus and arranged for a waiter to drive us home from dinner...after racing to the boat for Capri. I will return here many many times. Breakfast was a welcomed surprise, as most B&B's give you vouchers for cafes..Luigi even drove to get fresh bread. Our rooms were more than we expected...I felt very 'at home' there. I travel a great amount and this rates with the very VERY best. A++++++++++++++++++++

That was an amazing and unforgettable adventure. We hope to come back there soon. Cafe Latte served every day was delicious. The owner is a real artist who created unique ambience in his B&B. Also they were very helpful giving us very useful advises on travelling around ( the best beaches and etc.). We love this place. Joanna and Patrick from Ireland

B&B Casa Mazzola was the perfect place to end off our honeymoon. The roof terrace outside our room had a fantastic view of the Bay of Naples and Sant'agnello. Very private, peaceful, safe and beautiful. And of course, very romantic. We loved the personal touch of the decorations and artwork in the room, inspiring and comforting. Luigi is a truly wonderful host who showed us immense hospitality :) We would be back there in a minute if we could! <3 <3 <3

We enjoyed a five star room at a B& B rate at Casa Mazzola. The view from our room was a million dollar view. I woke up at two am,(yes, jet lag has its moments) and walked out onto the patio, with a wonderful view of Naples Bay under the stars and moonlight. There had been fireworks for a local saint earlier that weekend, as if the bay were not beautiful enough. Our host, Luigi spoke English, and was very helpful. He was very pleasant, and drove the guests to the train station and to the port in Sorrento. He was very helpful about information about the local area, and how to best see the area. Luigi and his son Ugo were able to take us by van to Positano, to avoid the worst of the traffic. From Positano we viewed the Amalfi coast. There is great boat service from Sorrento, Positano, and all along the Amalfi coast, and also over to the island of Capri. The boat rides are very reasonable and frequent. I had read about how to see the Amalfi coast, but viewing it by sea, with Ugo's drop off at Poisitano was really great. Sorrento was quiet all day, until 5 p.m. From 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. it is a traffic terror, then it calmed down. The stores are open 9 am until 2 p.m. they close for siesta, and reopen at 5 p.m, and close again about 9 p.m. Casa Mazzola is about ten minutes from Sorrento. It is up a steep winding road that climbs nearly up to crest of the peninsula. The area is quite rural, with horses, chickens, a peacock somewhere, and a very good restaurant nearby. We actually did not go into Sorrento very much; it was so nice at Casa Mazzola is was like being at home, only much nicer, with a much better view!!! We stayed three days. I wish I could stay three months. The map was correct, but could be better. I was on the correct road, but the road changes names. Just call Luigi!
