The Charme Ares- Bed and Breakfast - Siracusa

We had a most enjoyable visit. Enzo couldn't have been more helpful, not just for matters relating to the B&B but for our whole stay in Syracuse.

Good location, very helpful staff. we enjoyed the breakfast in the Duomo square.

Enzo is a really enthusiastic host and has helped us a lot with our visit to the region. A very nice place.

We stayed here for three nights in May, and had a marvellous time. Ortigia is very beautiful, and the hotel is in a good location, in a lovely building, with very clean and comfortable rooms, and good price. Breakfast is in a café on the main Piazza del Duomo - a short walk, but unbeatable views! But the best thing about it is the host Enzo – he is the most friendly, enthusiastic and helpful host you could imagine. He provided us with maps, guidebooks, excellent tips on what to see, and very good local restaurant recommendations. When we wanted to see a festival play in the Greek theatre, he rang the box office for us. He walked us to the breakfast café the first morning to make sure we found it OK, all the while pointing out lovely buildings, or architectural features, or other interesting things to see. His enthusiasm for Ortigia is infectious. And we had many interesting conversations about Siracusa, Sicily, travel, life, etc. He also had some excellent advice for other places in Sicily to see – we ended up changing our plans as a result of his advice, and were extremely happy with his tips. I would recommend Siracusa, Ortigia and this B&B to anyone!

It was difficult to imagine a more perfect host than Antonio. He was very welcoming, attended to all our needs, and was a fountain of knowledge on Syracuse and the surrounding area. The Charmes Ares was, like Syracuse itself, charming. Breakfast was provided in a cafe on the main square overlooking the cathedral - absolutely fabulous. Antonio - if you are reading this, thank you for a truly memorable stay. We will definitely come again.

The hotel met my expectations. The room has been refurbished recently and had a nice decoration. The breakfast was taken outside of the hotel in two different cafes and was very basic as it included only a croissant and a coffee. The breakfast in the cafe in the Piazza Duomo was better than the other (it included an orange juice in addtion to the croissant and coffee)
