Bed and Breakfast Diana - Siracusa

The AC dripped onto the floor in the room. Otherwise a lovely place, centrally located, welcoming staff. Nice breakfast including a delicious omelet!

I had a great stay in this B&B. The owner very friendly and helpful. the rooms clean and good decorated. the hotel it's in front of a beutiful fontain, and very near to piazza duomo. I definitely recommend it!! Ho avuto una stanza meravigliosa in questo B&B!! Il proprietario molto gentile.

B&B Diana in located on the main square in Siracusa, well run by a friendly staff, cleanliness and service is excellent, and while the rooms are different in size and shape they are all quite nice. The inclusive breakfast at the cafè outside is an added bonus. The wi-fi internet connection was broken but we were given access to the owners computer in stead (a minor inconvenience). Highly recommended.

The location was terrific, and the room was comfortable...but because of its central location it was very noisy at night as people walked and talked below the window. The soundproofing in the windows did not work. The staff was very helpful.

It is a well located B and B. The space is a bit reduced, but the atmosphere of the room is romantic and cosy.

We stayed one night, but wished we could have spent one more night. It was our first time at Diana and we enjoyed it. Great location and very friendly B&B owner. Parking was confusing at first, but it worked out very well. A bit noisy in the morning, but you are in the heart of it all. Good value for the price. We would return.

We liked the location of the BB, nice decoration, very helpfull staff. We didn't like the poor breakfast at the bar.

Good price and excellent location - but it was too loud to sleep well and the room was small and needed updating.

Very convenient! Not so quiet -- but that's because you are so centrally located, so it's worth it. They don't serve breakfast -- instead, they give you a voucher for breakfast at the most perfect cafe in the world, across from one of the most magnificent duomos in all of Italy. One thing: Park at the public parking lot as you enter Ortigia, then take the FREE bus to the Plaza Archimedes, where the Diana is located.

Well situated, great location, very helpful staff. We were able to have use of the common lounge area until we left in the afternoon.

Stayed in Siracusa for 2 nights, B&B Diana is in good location. A free minibus to/from train/bus depot stop in front of the hotel (Piazza Achimede) every 30mins. Breakfast in a cafe in Piazza Duomo a very nice square The owner was friendly, helpful with bus schedule , sights and restaurants.

Looking right over one of the main squares in Ortigia, this was the perfect place to stay! The room was spacious and looked over the square. We had an ensuite bathroom and the cleaning staff was very friendly. The gentleman who owned the place came promptly to let us in although we arrived several hours early, he was extremely friendly and helpful. Piazza Duomo is just a few minutes' walk from Diana, there are great restaurants nearby. I would definitely recommend staying in Ortigia if you come to Syracusa, it is the prettiest part of the city.

B and B Diana is delightful -- simple, welcoming. Wonderful location. We felt part of real life in Siracusa. Breakfast is not provided in house. You are given coupons for a cafe in the famous square. That was just fine because the breakfast was delicious.

The bed and breakfast does not provide breakfast or dinner. We were directed to a cafe on Piazza Duomo for breakfast. There is no lift/elevator and you must carry luggage up two long fights of stairs to reach their front door.

Bed & Breakfast Diana is placed in the middle of Ortigia. Wonderful place to stay.

Nice people, but room cleanup was between 3 an 4, a truly inconvenient time to be out of your room. Breakfast ticket at Caffe Duomo was small but with the best location in town. The location was great if a little noisy, and the price was right.

Room was spacious and beautiful. Location is outstanding. There is no public area to speak of. We arrived a bit early, shortly after noon, and no one was at the property. We called and the woman who arrived in 15 minutes was extremely nice but did not speak a word of English. We checked in and paid her, and she left shortly thereafter and we didn't see anyone else again during our stay. It's a nice place and great value if you can speak a little Italian and are fine on your own.

The B&B is in a great location right in the centre of Ortygia. Make sure you have a map and allow time to find the B&B whether you arrive by bus or train. Our room looked out on Piazza Archimede, complete with fountain. The splendidly attractive Piazza del Duomo is a two minute walk away. We were here for 5 days and there was plenty to see on the ‘island’ and nearby; we enjoyed our day-trip to Noto.Our en-suite room was clean, comfortable and well decorated; there was no noise from the piazza at night despite the central location.We considered it very good value for money and overall we rated the Diana B&B 9 out of 10. It would have been 10 out of 10 but for the breakfast arrangement; this was served in the bar next door and was limited to a coffee and a sweet bun.

Our experience in Diana B&B was unique. A great place to stay. The room was spacious and clean with great balcony view to a nice piazza. The breakfast was very simple, a coffee and a croissant, but taking it at Piazza Duomo is a rewarding experience. In front of the hotel there is a bus stop from where you can get a free of charge bus (gratis) to the center of the town or to the central train/bus station.

This b&b is handily located in one of the main squares on Ortigia. Our bijou but comfortable dual aspect room had 2 dinky balconies, one over looking the square, and the other looking out onto the shopping street that led off it. There are a few cafes and pizza outlets in the square, so while we did not experience any real noise, you should expect the usual sounds associated with a room overlooking a busy square. Directions were clear and easy to follow. The lady who met us was very friendly and helpful, as was the owner who we met the next morning. The b&b does not have space to serve breakfast, but instead has an arrangement with a cafe in Piazza Duomo, the main square, whereby you get a voucher which you hand over for breakfast there. We were a little dubious but the cafe is actually very smart and situated directly opposite the cathedral (duomo). Don't arrive too late or all the pastries will be gone though, as the breakfast choice is from the selection on sale to all the normal customers as well. The cafe does a fab hot chocolate made with real melted chocolate. Parking is not allowed for non-residents on the island, so if you ask you will be given directions to the covered carpark by the port. The cost is 1 euro per night, parking is charged between 21.00 to 5.00 am. The carpark looks fairly dodgy, but we had no actual problems, and saw lots of businessmen parking up there with no qualms. There is a free electric bus that runs between the carpark and the square, but in any case it is only a shortish walk.

Situated in the very center of Isola di Ortigia, in an old palace. A charming room. Breakfast is to be taken in a café on Piazza Duomo.

Great place to spend a few days, right in the center or Ortygia, the antique part of Syracuse, on the Place Archimede. Cheap ( 1 €/day ) and safe parking 500 m walking.

Perfect location. Room overlooking plaza - great view but very quiet due to window construction. Small balcony. Bus stop below conecting to Syracusa train/bus stations. Voucher for breakfast in local bar - coffee & roll - just fine. Bathroom excellent. Murano chandelier! Very friendly & helpful staff. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Not a real "B&B" as most westerners would recognize, but an "affite camere" or rooms for rent so no real contact with other guests, but this suited us JUST FINE as preferred to interact with Italians, not other tourists! Very happy with our experience at Hotel Diana. really liked the location-very convenient to everything we wanted to see.

As we arrived Siracusa by bus we were worried as the city looked rather ugly. But we were totally charmed when we arrived the Ortygia island and were very happy with the location of Diana. From our window we looked down at the pretty and busy Piazza Archimede. Our room was called Romantica, light blue and charming. You just can't get a better location in Siracusa than this. The simple breakfast is served at an outdoor cafe at the Piazza Duomo, one of the prettiest piazzas in Italy! The accomodation is simple but very convenient. Only minus was the karaoke evening at the piazza restaurant that lasted to 30 minutes past midnight but that was just the first of three nights. Recommended.

GREAT location. Comfortable room. Warning: thin walls. For a great meal, put your back to the front door and walk straight ahead across the piazza and follow the street (Via della Maestranza?) that runs to the public parking area (on the water.) Look for a little place in a courtyard on the left, about 20-50 meters down, through an archway. You will know it because the menu is posted outside on a board, handwritten in magic marker. It may not look like anything special but I had the best meal of my trip there. Go for the ravioli with cream of funghi porcini.
