Via fiorentina is a road with a lot of traffic (trucks, cars). I could sleep only 4 hours.

Generally the hotel was clean and the staff very helpful. Free parking was available to the side of the Hotel. There are no communal areas as such and the hotel is eminently suitable for one or two night stays. Facility was described as Bed & Breakfast, but no breakfast was available. Fortunately there was a Bar nearby serving sandwiches, pastries & beverages.

The inside of the soggorno was very very nice, everything perfect. The only downside of it all was that the surroundings were very noisy (streets with loads of traffic) and as i needed a good night's rest as i walked all through Siena, i would 've benefitted from a more quiet environment.

This was a good stay. The hotel is not close to either the old city or the train station. The good news is, the bus rides are only 1 euro and can be purchased at almost any store. Don't show up till after 3pm, they take lunch from about 12:30 to 3pm. We waited in a nice recetion area for about an hour. They have a computer to use for internet, helped out. The bathrooms were nice but the shower small. Ask for a quiet room on booking due to the noisy road out front. Overall a good value.

Of all the places we stayed at during our Italy trip, this had the nicest room, and the best value for our money. There were 4 of us and we stayed in a room with 2 floors, with beds for 2 on each floor. It wasn't right in the middle of town so we had to take a bus, but it was very easy to catch the bus to and from town center. Overall it was a great experience.

The rooms were a bit small but very attractively decorated. The bathroom too was cramped but clean. There was no breakfast at this B & B and the bar next door was closed on Sundays, the day we were there. There were a lot of pidgeons nesting in the building and the noise of them was very annoying. The b&b was a bit out of town but we drove into the city and found a free parking place outside the walls so it was no problem.

Only problem is that we had requested a double bed but found out that it was not possible with a shared bath. We would not hesitate to stay there again. Very clean and comfortable Dave and Carol Maxwell

This is a very hard place to find with a car, maybe it would be easier by bus. But it's a good value for a place so close to the historical centre of Siena. Rooms on the street are noisier than those in the back.

The property is not close to the train station or the downtown. So it will take about 20 min. to take the bus. It's easy to find the location though. I would recommend others to stay in the hotel since the overall faciality and surrounding are nice.

This hotel was pretty good. Make no mistake about it as it is not close to the train station or center if going by foot. However from the hotel we took buses and from the train station we walked (it took about 30 minutes). But also being away from center gave out room on the top floor great views. The triple with bathroom we reserved had a balcony and a larger bathroom than the communal bathroom others used. The triple and the double were more than adequate in terms of space. Staff was friendly but leaves at 8 pm If you ask nicely you can use the kitchen, but you have to finish by 8 as the staff leaves at that time. There is a fruit and vegetable market just a few stores down and a supermarket about 5 minutes away. It was nice to eat in a more relaxed environment with the friends then always eating meals in town or at the 2 resaurants nearby.

We thought this was a great deal for Sienna. It's a 15 minute walk from the old part of town, buses available too, but for folks who don't mind walking it's a really great deal. The staff was very helpful, rooms were clean and pleasant. Not fancy.

The wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Soggiorno Lo Stellino, great location, close to Siena center city--had one point of confusion -- booked Saturday and Sunday and then changed to Friday and Saturday --- very difficuly to get across that this was a change and not adding an extra day. A very nice hotel, with good location a little atmosphere and an excellent overall value. We would happly book here again!

Good hotel for a short stay. Breakfast is not offered, but nevertheless an excellent Cafeteria at next door (the same owner as the hotel). The price of 49,00 EUR for one night in double room seems a little bit too much. Good service and very friendly employees.

This Hotel was very convenient for our needs, spacious room, clean bed linens, very clean bathroom. We booked a triple and the third bed was on a cosy second level in the same room. Although we arrived very late, they set everything up for us to find our keys. Staff where really helpful the phone on our way there, and also giving information about how to get to places. Is True that its located far from the city centre, but we arrived by car, and it had car park. It is very well communicated, as buses run often and very close to the hotel door. There is even a internet service a couple of meters from it. Yes it did not include the breakfast but there was also on the same block a cafe where you find what you need to start the day. I would recomend this property with no hesitation it is defenetly good value for money.

We had a 4 person room with the big queen bed for my wife and I in an upstairs loft which was a very useful arrangement. We arrived late and the management arranged to leave the key hidden outside. These things made the stay very nice for us. However, the sink in the bathroom leaked on the floor- a minor inconvenience.

We were very pleasantly surprised at the appearance of the hotel and our room in particular. I told Stefano that the photos on the website don't do it justice. We had a share bathroom but never had to share it with anyone. We had some difficulty finding the hotel - arriving on a Sunday when some bus routes were not operating - and not really knowing where to get off. Generally, the biggest drawback was the distance from the centre. We spent a long time waiting for buses on a number of occasions, but for those driving it would be great because of the big car-park. Information provided by the staff left something to be desired. For example, one morning, after asking at Reception, we travelled to the city centre to connect with a bus to San Gimignano, only to find that that bus then passed in front of Lo Stellino and stopped to pick up right there.I feel the counter staff should be able to give more accurate guidance to visitors. This was one of several occasions when we were given misleading information that caused us to waste a lot of time. However, generally speaking we were happy with our stay and would recommend Lo Stellino to travellers with cars.

The Sioggornio Lo Stellino was an adequate place to stay. On the plus side the room was clean and well maintained with the linen and towels changed everyday. However there was no indication that it was a hostel and not a hotel. The location of the hostel could be better as it is on the outskirts of Siena and took a bit of searching to locate it. There are a couple of restaraunts and a bar near by but there opening hours are erratic. The hostel does not have a dining room so breakfast and dinner require you to go elsewhere. You have to pay in advance for your stay which was not indicated on the website. There is a bus service to Siena but the last bus back is 12pm so if you are going to have late nights better to stay somewhere closer to Sienna. As we had a car this was not a problem and the hostel did have a car park beside it. The reception opening hours are a problem as it closes in the afternoon for three hours and also at 8pm. We arrived in the afternoon at 2pm and had to wait for an hour for the reception to open. During our stay there was a brief powercut at night that a guest was able to fix by resetting circuit breakers but it hightlighted the necessity of having somebody there all the time to handle problems that may arise. All in all a reasonable place to stay given the price of accomodation in Siena but its location is the major drawback.

This is a cute little place. The owner/manager is wonderful. She made our reservations for us at the Uffizi and the Accademia (saved us a lot of trouble), and provided a map of the Florence and some nice restaurants to visit. For the price, this is a great place to stay while in Florence--not too far from the big spots, and in a quiet enough place to get good rest. Only complaints: watch out for mosquitoes, and the bathroom tub/shower stalls clogged very quickly (bring slippers!)

A very nice place with helpful staff. It's a bit far from the train station and the walls of Siena if you're walking, but we had a car. Still it was less than 2km from each and well worth the price. No breakfast is included.

Venere - this is not the first time a reviewer has asked you to remove this property from the bed and breakfast category! It is advertised as B & B but after booking the property informs that it there is no breakfast - very misleading. I thought this property was very clean and nice but to far out of town, so car parking costs need to be taken into account.

Fairly nice, clean place, had a bit of difficulty with employees' bus directions resulting in several taxi rides. Our stay was short so we didn't have time to sort out all the transport details, but it is in a decent area of town albeit a busy street. Rooms were spacious and hallway noise was squelched early in the evening by management. Overall not bad, but not wonderful either.

We ordered two double rooms - one without bath, one with bath. Upon arrival the room without bath was "upgraded" to one with bath without any notification about the higher price and without asking whether we would agree. Although the reservation cofirmation says that the prices would include bed AND breakfast, no breakfast was included - there is not even a possibility to have breakfast in this hotel!!! No discount was offered when the hotel staff was approached with this complaint.

Nice room, friendly desk clerk. The directions we were given were not specific enough. We were told that the hotel was close to the train station. A distance of 2 kilometers is close by car but not by foot. We were told to take the #10 bus from the train station. That bus drove sround for a full hour before dropping us off .5k from the hotel. Other than that everything was very good.

I think you should tell before that the breakfast is not included. We knew that only when the soggiorno sent us the confirmation back, and at that moment it was late to cancel the room without penalties. Anyway Lo Stellino is a very nice place, the building it's hand painted bi the owner, with a lovely taste, and the cleaning is perfect.

Lo Stellino was excellent. A taxi is required to get there from the train station but the centre of Siena is within walking distance (approx 25-30 minutes). Buses are available either on Fiorentina or around the corner in the direction of Macdonalds. Although breakfast is not available there is a good cappachino cafe close by. We enjoyed the very popular restaurant to the left of Lo Stellino as you come out. Siena is well worth a visit.

Please do not list this as a bed and breakfast. No breakfast is offered. You have to leave the hotel and go next door to their bakery for breakfast. B&B shoulod be places which include breakfast. It's a small thing, but important to me since I don't want to start the day trying to figure out where to get a cup of coffee.

the hotel is far from the center of the city. we took a taxi from the train station - around $6. the managers speak very good english and were extremely helpful and gracious in trying to help us book rooms for our next stop. ask for a room far from the wc - otherwise if you are a light sleeper, you will hear everyone who uses the wc. because the hotel was so far from the center of town - beware that at night the bus does not stop on the street of the hotel. it stops quite far away - we missed it the first time and ended up on the bus for another hour.

We were on our honeymoon, and this place was much better than we expected in terms of the rooms, and the tourist help offered by the front desk. However, the location is not the best if you want to spend lots of time in central Siena. It is impractical to walk to the old town, where I'd highly recommend going for dinners and evenings at least, and cars are not permitted there (except taxis). The good news is that Taxis in Siena are cheap, and the front desk can call them for you quickly and easily. For the non-adventurous, there is a McDonald's very close - which is strange since this place is on the edge of the countryside.. The view from our room was beautiful. If your main goal is to spend most of your time within the walls, find somewhere closer, or be prepared to use taxis, but other than that, this place is wonderful. P.S. - the showers are too small for a couple to share at the same time ;)

We needed a cheap one night stop over in Siena before we continued on to our agriturismo location. We missed a train connection and got inpast the checkin deadline but the English speaking hostess was most gracious. The place is no frills but much cheaper than most Sienese accomodations. It is in close proximity to the train station (not walkable but a cheap and quick cab ride away. I would recommend it for the purposes to which we used it but it is not really suitable for an extended stay.

I was only able to stay one night as I was booked to stay at a conference at Certosa Pontignano for the following nights. However, if I was to stay in the area again, I would definitely consider Lo Stellino. The staff were very helpful in my e-mail corresposndence with them. It would have been helpful to know in advance that reception was closed in the early afternoon. The bus connections to Siena are good. the traffic is a bit noisy -because it was so hot, it was hard to close the windows.
