Bed and Breakfast Fonte dei Tufi - Siena

Fonte dei Tufi is just outside the walls of Siena and you can walk, though it's uphill. Taking the bus is faster and very convenient because the stops are very close to the B&B and the bus goes about every 15 minutes. If you have a car, there are parking lots in Siena which were easy to access. The B&B and its parking area are almost hidden from the road by a tall hedge. The back yard is large, grassy and a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sunset. The staff were very helpful in explain how to get in and out of the city by providing a bus schedule and also at a very reasonable price there was an excellent WIFI connection.

The breakfast was good-breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, cakes, cereals and juices, coffee or tea. The rooms are equipped with a safe and satelite TV. It is easy to get into town via bus stop just down the hill. There is some highway noise if you try to sleep with the windows open or sit in the back garden. The staff was wonderful to help with directions, bus schedules and restaurant recommendations. Any request was handled with warmth and enthusiasm. We enjoyed our 4 nights there and would stay there again.

We had a nice stay at Fonte dei Tufi. This B&B is clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the garden is very pleasant. Because it faces the road to the city center, when you open the windows you get the traffic noise almost constantly. When the windows were closed, the noise did not bother us too much. We both thought that the shower stall is very small.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and well maintain. The location of the hotel is quite far from the city center. The bus service was excellent during the day but stopped around 9:00 p.m. After this time, taxis were almost impossible to get. We spent much time trying to figure out how to get a taxi late at night.

This hotel is situated on a road that leads into Siena. The owner of the hotel was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast that was served was delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to any visitor to Siena.

An excellent B&B run by two sisters, one of whom speaks good Engish and is very welcoming. Beautiful recently restored old farmhouse - rooms very spacious downstairs. An excellent breakfast with vast array of choice. Drinks machine available in open plan kitchen/dining room. Lovely garden to sit out in, but close to main road, so some traffic noise. Easy frequent bus ride (~1 mile) into Siena.

1. Description of position on web pages not as clear as on printed brochure - we drove straight past believing it to be nearer the city. 2. Position for visiting Siena is excellent, with bus stop 100m away and buses every 15 minutes.

Nice family run B&B on the immediate surrunds of Siena, right on the street heading to one of the major carparking. Quite surrondings and professional staff. Definetely a place to sign on your travel agenda

We loved staying here and wish we could have stayed longer than 3 nights. The only part I could not rate as excellent were our challenges in finding the place. We took the #3 bus but didn't have a clue where to get off. I think they are working on this. Good breakfast and lovely sisters. Take their tips on restaurants.

The map showed it was on the boundary of Siena, so we looked just outside the gates of the city, but it was actually a mile and a half further down the road, outside the city boundary. This was very misleading, and instead of walking into the city, we had to drive and park in an expensive compulsory multi-storey car park every time we visited. The hotel people were very friendly and helpful.

Gabriella was lovely and ever so helpful; she was so willing to please at all times. Unfortunately didn't find other guests willing to be sociable.

Great little B&B with renovated rooms, nice view of Tuscan hills and friendly staff. Clean rooms, good location if you want to drive around. A little far from Siena(not really walking distance). I would recommend this hotel.

Easy bus service to city gate. Excellent position for car travel to places of interest.

Modern, clean and comfortable B&B within walking distance of the centre of Siena (there is also a regular bus service). Breakfast was good, though watch out for the cold soft-boiled eggs.

I believed we were booking a B&B that was somewhat 'out-in-the-country'. The actual location is just off a busy road and within sight and sound of a highway. That being said, the location was quite convenient to Siena.

Excellent buffet and service. The rooms were spotless and couldn't be faulted. I would DEFINATELY go back and recommend to friends and family.
