Casale Virgili is a superb place if you seek peace and tranquility. There were other guests but the property is large enough for you to find quiet spots to be one with nature and/or have a meditative time with God. Daily breakfast is a wonderful spread with eggs on the menu. There is also a swimming pool that guests can use. Casale Virgili is also centrally located for day trips to other towns in the Tuscan region.

Spent 1 night there. Its a very nice property with pool. Unfortunately we had a room with the neighbour's pipes/toilets just above our bed and we spend an horrible night being awaken by flushes and other pipe noises. In the very early morning we also got the owner's cat crying at our window for hours. There is no fan and no A/C. The check out is at early 10am and breakfast until 9.30, but make sure you track your brioches, ours never arrived.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casale Virili, and found our host Roberto to be very friendly and extremely helpful. The B&B is in a very quiet and semi rural area, but still an easy walk to the bus stop and restrauants. The location is very well sign posted. The breakfast was excellent, being one of the better ones we had durring our stay in Europe. Overall, we highly recommend this accomodation to any traveller as well as the Siena area.

Wonderful experience in a family run B+B in a converted Tuscan stone farmhouse dating back a few centuries. Our room shared a common kitchen and sitting room with two other bedrooms which were vacant during our stay. If the other rooms were occupied it could be a bit noisy. However the rooms were self contained and individually lockable. Ideal for staying when travelling with family or friends. The grounds and scenery are stunning. Roberto was very helpful with maps and local knowledge.

This is a family run b & b, its a little hard to find; the bonus was the pool, surrounded by a wonderful landscape. It would help if someone spoke a little English

This was the first time we stayed at Casale Virgili and it met all our expectations. It is a fine old building with a very interesting garden and a great view.We wanted a B&B in the countryside and this was perfect, but it would not have been good without a car.

The staff is more than friendly and accommodating! When our friends and family come to visit us here in Italy, they request to visit Siena. We have stayed here twice, and both times were pleased!

We had a lovely time at the Casale Virgili. We would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends, and hope that we will be back in the not so distant future. Roberto was an excellent host. Very helpful, and informative.

The B&B is very nice! Clean rooms, swimming pool with beds, nice people and trees with fruit! Everything was perfect en matched our expectations. three things that we didnt like but are very small things are: 1. the highway nearby wich you can hear, on the website was written that the owners could speak english very well. I think that they ment that Roberto could speek english very well but he wasnt there when we were staying there. and last is that we were not allowed to use the kitchen. We stayed voor 11 days and had a really nice stay!! Whe would recommend this to every one.

Casale Virgili" is a beautiful Tuscan property in typically beautiful surroundings. There is a road nearby but it did not distract The breakfast was very good and served with a welcome. The pool was near completion & this will add to your stay.We were supplied on request with cutlery with which to eat our evening meal on our little terrace & our hosts were more welcoming than some for star hotels we have stayed in. I would definitely recommend this B & B to travellers wishing to access Siena

No flag on the road even in front of the gate! just the name on the bell and number of the house, but along a traffic road! not easy to recognize the entrance. Inside wide and beautiful surroundings!

Pleasant surroundings. Our large and very clean room had a beautiful view of the tuscan countryside. However, we could hear the highway which we found a little annoying. Breakfasts were nice and enjoyable. A pleasant stay.

Wonderful accomodations, great location in the hills of Siena. Even though we do not speak Italian, we were able to communicate. Roberto and his wife spoke English. One thing I would have liked to know prior to our visit, was that they took credit cards for payment. Also better directions, once we saw signs by accident, we had no problem. Great stay.

Robert and Angela were welcoming and have an absolutely beautiful home. Directions to the property were quite difficult. We came from San Gimignano and were we to go the way of Monteriggeroni we would have driven right to the home. Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, yogurt, breads, coffee, etc. They have picnic tables for the guests so you can bring back food and eat over looking the city. Fabulous stay.

Once we found Casale Virgili we were greeeted warmly by the staff and shown to our room. We found Roberto to be warm, gracious and very informative. Roberto also served the breakfast which was good and fresh each day. Best cappuccino we had in Italy. The grounds were very nice, they had a covered picnic area and lounge chairs to relax in. Both my wife and i are looking forward to returning.

The Casale Virgili is a very nice B&B, only the noise from the nearby highway is an annoyance They serve a good continental breakfast. The lady owner is nice but there is a language problem, this was overcome by the excellent assistance given by Roberto (staff member). We had a excellent stay in Siena thanks to Roberto. He directed us to local eating establishments, places to visit along with maps.

The road into the place is gravel, with lots of potholes. You can't walk to anything but the view was nice. Room was clean and large, but cold. We couldn't control the heat ourselves. Had to get the staff to adjust the heat a couple of times. Breakfast was terrible - one soggy brioche and stale bread at least for some of the days. No protein items offered. The main guy we dealt with was very pleasant but seemed disorganized. Had to ask to have the coffee heated in the microwave as it was only warm. Same with the tea. When we went to check out, they tried to charge us more than Venere had quoted. I had thankfully printed and brought a copy of the Venere registration form so could prove the quoted price.

This was a great place to stay. The views were really nice and the room was great. Olive trees and rolling hills surround Casale Virgili. The breakfast is simple but that's how it is in Italy. If you are on foot be prepared to either take a cab or walk 10 minutes to the nearest bus stop (free bus). A cab from the train station or Siena proper is only 5-9 Euros for 2 people. If you don't speak Italian you really should before booking your stay. The owners are super nice but only speak a few words of English. We were able to get by but will know the language better the next time we stay there.

This was the first time we had stayed in Casa Virgili. We stayed there four days and used it as a base to visit Siena and to tour around the Chianti countryside. Situated just outside Siena, but within easy driving distance of the old city. The staff were very good at providing information about the area, especially about free parking in Siena and also restaurants in the local vicinity. If you want a good meal at reasonable prices, try La Siesta in Uopini. Its not a posh place by any means, but its clean and the food is freshly cooked. It is also frequented by the locals and a great to people-watch. Breakfast is simple continental fare, but the staff are helpful and eager to please. We would go back to Casa Virgili again.

Everything was fine. The owners did not speak English but made up for it with gestures, and were very friendly. The gardens were pleasant, although a constant noise of traffic from the nearby highway could be heard while sitting outside, which spoiled things a little.

This is a little Gem! The only problem was we could only stay one night. This is the ideal place to "chill out", so quiet and surrounded by the most beautiful vistas & young children would have plenty of room to roam around and explore. Full access to the bountiful vegie patch and fruit trees was a real treat. It was exactly what you would expect from a family owned establishment - eager to please and very forthcoming with suggestions on where to eat, etc. Our room was enormous and rustic (in a nice way) and the bathroom excellent - clean and with a shower with REAL water pressure. Can't recommend it enough. Next time we will be staying for at least 3 nights. We drove and found it a little difficult to find at first but were happy to see the signs pointing to the hotel. Not sure what the access to the city would be without a car. Driving into Siena was a breeze - not more than 10 minutes.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was fine and there was a good view over the hills when the Autumn fog didn’t obscure it. Unfortunately it was nearer the motorway than we had deduced and the traffic noise was in evidence until you ceased bothering after a day or so. The welcome was friendly and genuine, even if the breakfast was minimal and the out-of-summer eating space not ample enough. In four days we quite got to like the location, which is just about enough out of town to be plausibly semi-rural, though driving into Siena was sometimes a struggle (half an hour on one badly timed occasion). We would consider returning.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were very helpful and hospitable. Directions were excellent and we had no trouble finding the home; there were several signs pointing the way as we got closer. The son-in-law was most helpful. He spoke English very well and was able to provide us with maps and recommendations on what to see in Tuscany. The parents spoke little or no English but were most friendly. Highly recommend to others.
