Bed and Breakfast Conte Luna - Sciacca

Conte Luna is perfectly fine for a stay in Sciaaca. The location is right in the center of the old town but also close to main bus stop for the city. Sciacca is a lively town which we really enjoyed. We found a great place for granita (Cafe Roma) down near the port. It was highly enjoyable to watch everyone come out for their evening walk (passegiata) on the square that over looks the sea. Beware that the beaches within walking distance of the old town are filthy.

One of the best places we have ever stayed: 1. The owners are extremely kind and helpful: the owner was even waiting for us on the pavement of the road where we arrived (ca. 50m from B&B)! He speaks only Italian (and other Roman languages) but he did it so slowly that we understood everything (his daughter, who came next morning to show us the cafe where we were supposed to take breakfast, speaks English and is equally kind and cheerfull as her father). 2. The place itself is newly renovated though located in a typical old building of Sciacca old town. The air-conditioning is working, the very quiet room is nicely furnished and clean, and the small Italian breakfast outside the cafe on the main street of Sciacca is great. 3. Sciacca itself is also a hugely underrated small town in the south of Sicily: still not as touristy as Taormina, Cefalu or even Pozzallo, but at the same time already receiving few tourists and a very welcoming place. There are few nice beaches nearby and probably one can reach some of them with public transport (we had a car). And Selinunte, Segesta, Eraclea Minoa and Agrigento are not so far away...

The bathroom was very small. We were quoted a room price on the website of 50 Euro, but the prices posted at the hotel were 30 Euro. The hotel staff insisted on cash and would not take a credit card. We had to pay the 50 Euro.

Exquisite owner, extremely helpful. Very nice room, hotel in the city center - that means that parking is quite difficult (and we went there in low season, can't imagine how it might be in August). Breakfast is provided at a nearby bar with excellent choice of good sicilian pastry.
