What a magnificent location and a gorgeous room - we had the best one on the 2nd floor (No 6) with views across to San Gimignano and the Tuscan countryside in general. Very well appointed and spacious room/bathroom. The pool was a peaceful place to retreat to at 4pm each afternoon after touring the walled city and countryside in the hire car. Very nice wine glasses provided to assist us to enjoy our Chianti purchases on the patio overlooking San Gimi were a nice touch when we were found drinking from the plastic cups from our room! Thanks guys for your assistance with finding me a physio nearby and playing interpreter with my symptoms and appointment-making. We had a fabulous stay - thankyou. BTW there is a taverna within walking distance called Borgo di Racciano - great for a casual drink, light lunch or dinner al fresco!

Nice location outside San Gimignano, can only be reached by car. To visit the town: there are several parking lots outside the old town. We never had a problem finding a space. B&B quite nice, good location with an excellent view. Quaint inside. Breakfast area is a bit too small, gets crowded. Very friendly and helpful staff. Used GPS to find our way to the B&B, was a great help, the location is a bit remote. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.

The hotel and the people are wonderful. We enjoyed the view from #7 and the facilities. The hotel is nearby the town and San Gimi is among the best hillltop towns in Tuscany. Our problems started with not being expected on the night we were confirmed and having to stay some 100m away at another property and ended with no financial consideration for this very obvious inconvienence. (disappointing!) Arrival after hours requires cell phone contact, so must have phone numbers. In between, the staff was very accommodating and the pool side was great. Comments on the hotel being hard to find are real, but just for the first time. Be aware that the dogs in the area find it essential to conduct an opera at very in-opportune times for sleeping! Bath rooms are creative in space utilization. Wife felt like shower was "on a cliff".

This place was better than the pictures could show. It was so pretty with all the flowers and the view was even better. The hostess was lovely, even if I couldn't speak Italian. Nice breakfast and good coffee. I would have loved to stay when it was warmer and used the great pool. Love this place.

This accomodation was one of the best of our various italian trips, breathtaking view to San Gimigniano, though the hotel is located on the opposite hill 5 km away. Garden with swimmimg pool and nice area to take breakfast in the garden. Breakfast was excellent. Jams, cereals, juices and varieties of croissants etc and bread with mozzarella/tomatoes or scrambled egg and ruccola as well! The hotel can only be reached by car, but there is parking facility in the shades. Near the hotel in walking distance is one good restaurant, but nothing else. We enjoyed the pool with view to the towers of San Gimigniano after our day trip in the area.

Very good for a few nights only. Beds rock hard. Breakfast nice and fresh but becomes boring with no variety or fruit. Excellent swimming pool well kept and clean. Superb views. Make sure you get a room with a view - not a dark and dingy one at the rear of the house.

A very comfortable stay. A bit hard to find, but it is worth searching it. Very good breakfast, high above the Italian standard. And: very friendly people, providing excellent service. We would always return here.

Fantastic situation with beautiful views overlooking San Gimignano. Breakfasts were excellent would have loved to eat out on the terrace, but weather was rather cool when we stayed there. The grounds and swimming pool were all kept in prestine condition. A lovely walk from the house into Gimignano by the lane and the nearby restaurant was well worth a visit.

The view is excellent. Very clean and spacious room. The only downfall was we were met by someone that only spoke italian so it was a little difficult to communicate, however the room and the breakfast and the view is definately worth the stay.

This was the nicest Guest House I have ever stayed at! The property consists of two buildings the main residential one recently converted from an old farm house and a single storey breakfast room and office next door. The bedrooms were well furnished with a big bathroom with big shower cubical but no bath. The airconditioning was new and quiet and there was satalite tv with a couple of English speaking channels. The breakfasts were the typical small continental buffet type but all the pastries came from the owners bakery fresh that morning and were delicous. The grounds were imaculate with a big swimming pool that was spotlessly clean and had plenty of sunbeds. There was even a private covered parking area for your car which was accessed by a remote controlled key fob (which you were issued with) to get through the gated entry. This was all situated on a hill side overlooking San Gimininano and lots of vine yards and was well located for you to access all the nearby towns and villages by car. I would highly recommend this Guest house and definatly use it again. A+++

This is a wonderful place to stay. The location, the view, the breakfasts, the family that runs the Podere, and the overall facility are fabulous. It was more wonderful than we expected and we are demanding people. Higly recommended. Nous avons trouve tout excellent.

We had a fantastic stay at Podere St. Elena and enjoyed accomodation, wine, surroundings - especially the walking distance to San Gimignano - and the delicious breakfast very much! We already recommanded Podere St. Elena to some friends of ours.
