The sofa bed for 2 additional people in the room was not comfortable. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. It is very homely and clean.

Hotel was clean and a good location. We were very disappointed by the breakfast. It was over priced for a marginal breakfast offering and the service was very very poor. Some sleepy adolescent that just dropped food on the plate and didn't ask if we wanted a refill of coffee. The manager on duty was very nice and accommodating . She waited for us when we arrived late due to a delayed flight.

Hotel directed us to parking that is only €6 per night. Outside our 2 rooms was a kitchen/dining area with refrigerator, stove, sink and cookware/dishes that we used extensively. Also the 2 rooms had a shared patio area with view and table/chairs. The accommodations suited our needs perfectly. There is no lift, so luggage had to be carried upstairs. The breakfast room was next door in Hotel Torrione -- one has to go downstairs and back up again as they don't connect.

The room was good value for money & quite spacious (2 adults 1 child). Very big bathroom with spa bath & separate shower. Luggage can be a problem with parking outside the city walls and no elevators within the premises. Staff was friendly & helpful. Would happily recommend.

The lady who greeted us was most helpful and suggested good places to eat. The room was excellent: really quiet and most comfortable. The breakfast was substantial and of good quality. The hotel is very central - we could not have wished for anywhere better! Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at Palazzo al Torrione 2. We were met promptly by the owner's son who organised our car parking and check-in details. The room was clean and comfortable and well located within San Gimignano. We booked a family room, and while the bathroom and queen sized bed was comfortable, the pull-out couch which had to accommodate two teenagers was definitely not. Make sure you book a table at an excellent local restaurant, Chiribiri, where we had one of our best meals during our month in Italy.

We were advised to contact the owner of the tobacco shop about 300 feet from the bus drop off point. The owner arranged for our luggage to be transported to the hotel. Throughout our stay the owner helped us with advice about restaurants, side trips and train reservations. Some older couples might find the climb up the stairs to the rooms a chore but it did not affect us. We enjoyed meals at the Mandragola Restaurant which is on the same street as the Pension. We also at at Cum Quibus which is on Via San Martin 17. Unique Toscan dishes were available. We enjoyed our visit very much and would recommend the hotel to other visitors.

We only stayed at Palazzo al Torrione 2 for one night, but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean, and some rooms have a lovely terrace. Breakfast was delicious and included bread rolls, brioche, and apple cake, and the coffee was excellent. The location also provides easy access to the main streets and piazzas. The only tricky aspect of staying in this location is parking. Parking lots are located outside of the walled city, and finding a spot in one of these lots can be difficult. We didn't have access to a phone, so parked in a distant lot and found Francesco in his tabacco store on the main street. He kindly drove us to our parking lot and then led us to his private parking space (5 euro/night), loaded our luggage into his car, and drove us to PaT2. We reversed this process at checkout time. The parking difficulties definitely could be avoided if you call Francesco prior to your arrival; he will meet you and lead you directly to the parking area. San Gimignano is a gorgeous historic town that is well worth a visit (also a great place to shop for leather products). I have no hesitation in recommending Palazzo al Torrione 2.

The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to the main entrance to the town ,one street back from the busy thoroughfare and so very peaceful in the evening. We found a great little family run genuine but no frills italian restaurant 20 metres outside the main gate, food was delicious at a very reasonable cost.

No doubt we'll repeat. Vanna picked us up and led us to the parking. Our room was beatiful. A lot of care has been put in every detail. We find everything was most confortable, warm and in perfect condition. Bath and shower new and nicely decored. Breakfast was not a buffet but was abundant with natural products just baked rather than other factory packed buns offered in some other buffet hotels. Location is perfect near San Giovanni Gate, shops and a fabulous osteria called Chiribiri. Vanna is a 'bravissima' lady. She made our stay even more pleasant. Special thanks from Spain to her. Definitely we wouldn't recommend any other place in San Gimignano.

This is a fantastic place! The rooms are beautiful and ours had a private terrace where we could seat and enjoy a wonderful Tuscan view. Vanna, the owner and Francesco her son, were fantastic. The hotel is inside the walls so you have to park and walk for about 10 minutes to the hotel, but the sorroundings in San Gimigniano are so beautiful that you dont mind. The town is like a dream and the hotel is located one block away from the main street where all the shops and restaurants are. You have to be in good shape to walk around SG since streets are very steep but all is worth it. Thank you Vanna and Francesco for a great stay. We will definitely go back!!

Right inside the wall but in a side street, this hotel has lovely decor and professional service. The owners will help with private E5/day parking and ferry bags so easy for drivers. Go for a walk outside the walls and get away from the hordes of day tourists.

Lovely hotel in 600 year old palace, run by Francesco, very charming young man, who takes pride in his place. They serve great breakfast, often with great dish made by his mom. Parking is arranged for some 150 meters or so away, and someone will shuttle you, if you need. We stayed in regular room, but they have rooms with balconies, we will stay there next time! Great place to relax with bottle of wine.

Family of 4 from Melbourne, Australia. Right in the heart of San Gimignano, this was fantastic(quite luxurious)accommodation. We were met by a great young guy who parked our car then drove us to our room. He was fantastic during our stay, preparing a superb, big breakfast & assisting with directions as we were leaving. The room was beautiful, clean & spacious. We definitely recommend Palazzo al Torrione and San Gimignano. What a gorgeous place! Very clean, good shopping, spectacular views & lovely atmosphere to walk around for a couple of days.

We arrived late in the afternoon. Checked with the local police and they directed us to a tobacco shop in the fort. We had parked in the local parking area (E20/day)and went into the fort. There we encountered Vanna. She immediately loaded us into her car and drove us to the public parking area where we got our car and followed her to nearby parking (E20/4 days - quite a savings). She then loaded up our luggage and took us to our room. The room overlooked the interior of the fort and was clean and neat. When we asked about getting an exterior room with a veranda, she said someone canceled and the following day moved us to the room with a varanda. It was wonderful. We sat and drank wine as the sun set over the valley. Vanna was more then helpful, offering us rides to our car and helping us with our various needs. There is a local laundry shop nearby that did an excellent job on our clothes, no ironing but their folding job was good enough that ironing wasn't needed. Overall, this was our best stay in the Tuscany area. We throughly enjoyed our 4 days there. We used San G as a base, leaving early in the morning and returning early evening to San G as the tourist buses cleared out. Once the buses left, we enjoyed the quiet and pleasent atmosphere of San G. We enjoyed our stay so much I've recommended this B&B to several of our friends. My only criticism would be that the breakfast fare is limited but a number of shops are open early for breakfast so we alternated breakfast. Also, there is an internet cafe a couple hundred yeards from the B&B.

Beautiful and beyond our expectations. The hostess was very nice and accomodating. Right in the historic center in a 700 year old building. only thing to be aware of is that the stairs to the rooms are steep with no lift. No problem for people with okay mobility. I will stay again!

Lovely little B&B in San Gimignano. We parked outside the opposite side of the town, but went to the tourism office. The woman working there (very helpful) immediately understood the place my wife and I were staying, and called the owner. Within 5 minutes the owner had driven to the center of the town, picked us up and took us to Palazzo al Torrione. What great service! We stayed in SG one night and would recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in SG. We stayed in "the pink room". Very clean, quiet and staff was very helpful.

This little family owned romantic hotel was a very surprise. We got a room with balcony and a view over the remote hills. It was 4 meter up to the beams. The bathroom was bigger in reality than shown on the web. All looked new and was very clean. Breakfast was ok for our purposes. We do not like to have dinner eight o’clock in the morning. The hotel is situated just at or on the old wall. It is about 30 meter down to the main walking street where the tourists’ shops are. Perfect! The hostess was very friendly and helpful. We were very well welcomed and did get help to find a parking place and to transport our luggage from the car to the hotel. We regard the hotel as good value for money and will recommend it to our best friends. Carl-Johan Kindgren

I would give 6 sterns to this hotel if it were possible. Splendid accomodation, more like a palace than a hotel! Rooms are very spacious, bathroom is shick, location and view from the window - great! Staff is very welcoming, besides they recommended us very good restaurants in S.G. San Gimignano in general is great! I reccomend to all to stay there at least for one night and I definitely would choose this B&B again.
