Bed & Brekfast Country Houyse Il Castagnolo is a typical tuscan farmhouse of 19th century , this stone house is ideally located in a quite and hilly position   only 3,5 kms  away from the historic  town of San Gimignano. Completely restructured in 2006, the hotel now offers all modern comforts, including a comfortable sitting room with fire place , whilst still maintaining its historic features, as original wood beams and cotto floor. The property is surrounded by a large garden of cypresses where during the sunny season breakfast and delights snacks are served. During your stay you can relax in the property’s private garden, complete with swimming pool, and enjoy yourself of the beautiful  and peaceful landscape . Country house Il Castagnolo being only few kms away from the medieval centre of San Gimignano is an ideal base  for visiting Siena 35 kms  , Volterra 30 kms , Florence 50 kms. The bedrooms are all furnished in traditional tuscan style,  some with beamed ceilings and terracotta floors, offering satellite TV,  and bathrooms all with showers and equipped with hairdryers.

Finding this place was a mission.We ended up phoning the owner who was very helpful and came and met us to show us the way.His English was minimal.A picture of the roundabout outside San Gimi with a marking of the road to take may help.When there tho the stay could not have been nicer.Lovely room,quiet,views,breakfast service,all amazing.A wonderful place we highly recommend.

A very comfortable B&B on the outskirts of San Gimignano. The description of the location was too vague - we had to phone the owner Emilio (who spoke little English) but he met us and led us to the property. The room was fine, the breakfast outside looking towards SG was fantastic and beautiful views from the garden. Standing on the ramparts of SG watching the sunset was unforgetable. We would definitely recommend this property if you want to see SG, and we went to Siena by train from nearby Poggibonsi very easily, leaving the car in free parking at the station.

Ottimo ambiente.Ristrutturato da poco. Molto confortevole con una bella vista panoramica di San Giminiano. Discreta colazione. Da consigliare per un soggiorno in quella zona della Toscana
