Bed and Breakfast Villa Il Poggiale Dimora Storica - San Casciano in Val di Pesa

The villa is beautiful,situed in a gorgeous landscape 18km from Firenze. The staff is friendly,attentive and gives the atmosphere to be at home. The only problem is the so many stairs to arrive everywhere.....so come healthy!!!

Un très agréable souvenir de notre séjour a Villa Il Poggiale : une splendide demeure, bien située entre Florence et Sienne. Une chambre spacieuse avec lit à baledaquin,une décoration raffinée, un agréable jardin donnant sur la campagne toscanne. Le personnel est très agréable, discret et disponible. Une mention spéciale pour les petits déjeuners (produits frais et fait maison). Seul inconvénient : notre chambre donnait sur une route passante...un peu bruyant le matin au réveil...

This was our first time in the countryside of Tuscany. We really enjoyed Il Poggiale. The staff was great, especially the head of housekeeping, a lovely Scottish woman, who gave us great recommendations for dinner spots. Our room was HUGE by European standards and very lovely and spotless. The grounds are beautiful. My only negative comment was that the upstairs common room where the common computer and TV are smelled a bit like mothballs.

The staff is excellent and very responsive to all inquiries and requests. The rooms are well appointed and clean. The food was very good and servings were more than adequate. Interaction with the other guests was very interesting and enjoyable, due to the international appeal of the facility. Directions to the Villa are a little difficult but persistence pays off, found Mapquest directions to be pretty helpful. The villa is located just off the main road between San Casciano and Empoli, making some of the rooms a little noisy due to their proximity to the road.

The facility and surroundings were indeed beautiful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff very helpful and accomodating. The day we arrived there wasn't any air conditioning in our rooms. The staff offered their apologies. Fortunately our rooms were in the lower level and along with the pool offered a cool solution to the heat.
