Inn Pousada Villa Carmo - Salvador

Stay there for 5 nights. 1- Ok front desk, accommodating and friendly. No one spoke a word of English except the owner. If he is around you can ask for directions, etc. 2- Place decorated nicely, just be careful when climbing the sharp and steep steps. 3- There is no internet in the rooms, only place that you can get wifi is next to the reception desk. This was a large inconvenience for us. If you're lucky and get online, it will disconnect in few minutes and its painfully slow. Simply don't count on having a reliable internet access. 4- Most of the rooms are small and dark, except the couple of large rooms, which are the most expensive rooms. Pictures of the nice rooms are available online. If you get the room with ocean view, it has a lovely view. Also only the 2 expensive rooms have AC, other rooms have only fans! 5- The bed is just an old and thin foam, covered with overused and thin totally inappropriate sheets. My lower back hurt every morning! 6- The room "stinks" Literally!. Apparently it "happens when it rains," but it smelled like sewer, literally smelly, everyday and we had to keep the bathroom door closed and that didn't help very much.. 7- No towels were provided for the floor, and stingy tiny soaps are precious things here. Make sure you bring your own shampoo and conditioner! No trash basket in the room either. If you need them, just keep asking for them! 8- No toilet paper is requested to be put in the toilet! The rule is to dump them into a basket next to you. I found the idea if having a full basket with dirty papers gross! 9- The breakfast was nice and the view from the terrace area where its is served is lovely as well.

Too expensive for what it is.
