All the facility is well but it was not run the central heating even it was under 10 Digree(C) in the mountain area.

stayed here for 7 nights:very good location to perform trips to many histical places;nice "castle", wonderful garden, great value for money. We'll stay here again!!!

I booked two nights at Chateau Montbrun online to kick-start our holiday in the Loire Region. When we arrived at the Chateau at 1pm in the afternoon- having travelled overnight on the ferry - we were told to go away until 5pm! When we finally checked in, the staff of two (housekeeper and gardener) were reasonably welcoming. The rooms were very clean with excellent views, although a little small. In terms of value for money, it wasn't great- the chateau cost twice as much as most of the subsequent chambres d'hotes we subsequently stayed in, all of which offered superior rooms and a much better welcome.

As a vacation accommodation, Chateau de Montbrun should be chosen with its unique characteristics in mind. Not being a hotel, it is not open all the time, and in fact when we arrived at 3 in the afternoon on a Friday, I had to get onto the property like a burglar and rouse what turned out to be the only person inside the Chateau in order to be admitted. It is decorated in somewhat unconventional fashion, which we enjoyed, but might not be for everyone. The staff was very friendly and welcoming but spoke virtually no English, which fortunately was not a problem for us. Its location is rather remote, though, and the map on the website only gives the most general idea of where it is. The grounds cannot quite be called "manicured". But if you want the undeniable romance and character of staying in a genuine chateau, and are open to a somewhat different experience, I would recommend this accommodation enthusiastically.

The host was exceptional, and the chateaux is truly perfect. Great breakfast in the beautiful dining room too! Will always stay here while in the Loire valley.

The room was a bit on the small side compared with other chateau hotels, but the location and environment were quite exclusive. Disappointed as the swimming pool was not open at the time of our stay (mid July).

On arrival we wanted to book a table for evening meal, we were unable to do this as this needs to be done when booking the room! Therefore we had to go and find a restaurant nearby. We wanted to leave next morning at 8am to travel to catch our cross channel connection. But breakfast isnt served untill 9.15. The manager was very upset and surly regarding our wish to leave early and told us it was "a Chataux and not a hotel". He then tried to overcharge us for the rooms. The chataux was lovely, the area was lovely the only staff we saw was the Manager and he was not lovely. We would certainly NOT want to stay at this venue again but we would use the booking service provided by yourselves. The other overnight booking we made with you was superb.
