Matisse B&B takes great pride in providing guests with modern convenience wrapped in genuine Italian comfort. Each charming Matisse guest room is arranged on the premise of simple luxury and exceptional quality. Exquisite columns highlight the triumphal arches of our 17th century building and guide visitors toward a stunning ivy-covered fountain.

Our architects have constructed the B&B with space and comfort in mind. All properties have heating and air conditioning that can be changed at the touch of a button via remote controls in every rooms.


A 24-hour self service continental breakfast is included in the price. At our Matisse B&B location, free Internet access is also available for our guests. All bathrooms at the Matisse B&B are private, but it may be a few meters in front of your room. Our Matisse Colosseum location has bathrooms inside all of the rooms.

Just a short walk from the main Termini Station, Matisse B&B is conveniently located within walking distance from most of Rome's most famed monuments. Situated in the heart of this amazing and historical European city, on the illustrious Via Nazionale between Piazza della Republica and Piazza Venezia, guests will delight in the convenience of exploring the eternal city on foot.


Visitors have the luxury of walking just 8-10 minutes to the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, the Roman and Imperial Forums, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Campo di Fiori, and the Spanish steps. Getting to the Vatican is also very convenient, as the Bus #40 or #64 stops just across the street from us, and takes 15 minutes to reach the illustrious Piazza San Pietro.

The Matisse B&B also provides an excellent selection of materials for visitors, including guidebooks and maps in a wide array of languages.

How to reach Matisse B&B

By car
Coming from the North, take A1 highway heading towards Rome. Take exit at Roma Nord and then take the GRA (Grande Raccordo Anulare) ring road. Exit at Settebagni and follow the signs for the city center-Termini railway station. Arriving from the south, take A1 highway heading towards Rome. Take exit at Roma Sud then take the GRA( Grande Raccordo Anulare). Exit it Appio S.Giovanni and follow signs for the city center-Termini railway station. Matisse is situated on the main road leading from termini, located at 243 Via Nazionale. Once you get to the building ring both the first and second Matisse Bells. We are just past the fountain Scala C, 2nd Floor.

By train
The main railway station, Termini is just a few minutes walk or bus ride from Matisse. Matisse is located at 243 Via Nazionale, just a 10-minute walk from Termini. Exit the station and turn left, walking through Piazza Della Republica and then left onto Via Nazionale. Or take bus lines #64, 40, 70 or 170 to the first “Via Nazionale” stop. Once you get to the building ring both the first and second Matisse Bells. We are just past the fountain Scala C, 2nd Floor.

By airplane
Directions from Fiumicino Airport
Arriving from Fiumicino airport, take the "Leonardo" shuttle train to Termini railway station. Matisse is located at 243 Via Nazionale, just a 10-minute walk from Termini. Exit the station and turn left, walking through Piazza Della Republica and then left onto Via Nazionale, or take bus lines #64, 40, 70 or 170 to the first “Via Nazionale” stop. Directions from Ciampino Airport
If you are arriving from Ciampino airport take a local train or a shuttle bus (Terravision or Schiaffini) up to Termini railway station.
