The staff here were excellent and couldn't be more helpful. I was contacted a few weeks before by email with details of how to get there and a taxi was pre-ordered for us. There are no communal areas and breakfast is pre-packed, stored in fridge in room, which I didn't realise before booking. So if you want prepared breakfast served in dining room this is not for you. However it suited us well and there are good cafes close by to get breakfast. Good location close to Metro (Manzoni). Use of computer & internet & wi-fi available. Air-con very loud, so switch off at night. Otherwise double glazing cuts out any external noise. Johnny recommended a very good local restaurant a few minutes walk away. We were very satisfied with this accommodation and I would book again.

This was an excellent experience. The hotel was very conveniently located, the taxi service which they arranged for us from the airport was very convenient and the station was a few steps away. The breakfast which was provided was not the best, but there were plenty of shops and delicatessens nearby where we could get fresh croissants, cheese and meat very reasonably. The rate was that low that a few euros extra for fresh croissants was not a problem.

We stayed 5 days and are often ate at Merulana just a couple of streets away. Liked the service and food. Getting around Rome was a breeze from "In Rome". Staff were very friendly and helpfull to us 2 Kiwis a long way from home. English is our only language. We would recommend "In Rome" to anyone who is on a budget and wants somewhere clean affortable and walking distance to a lot of places. Metro and buses less than 1 minute walk away. Taxi from Railway station should be about E12.00. We used Hop on/off Buses first day from Coliseum but stayed on to get to know what was where and get bearings. Great place to stay for us. Value for money, breakfast kept us going and was more than adequate for the price.

Mature couple on first visit to Rome. We were very pleased with our choice of accommodation, even though we had a room on the side of the street there was no problem with noise from inside or outside. The whole stay exceeded our expectations and we have paid a lot more and been provided with worse service. The value for money was really good and the location - close to the Coloseum with good metro and bus links allowed us to get to many places on our visting list. We are happy to recommend the InRomeBB as a clean comfortable residence offering very good value for money.

Lovely room with air conditioning, our own expresso machine in the hallway. Pre-made packaged breakfast but good. Nice refrigerator and very nice bathroom with shower. Close to Coliseum and 1/2 a block from Metro stop. Very quiet at night with shutter closed. Peaceful. Would stay there again and recommeded to our kids to stay there when they arrive in a couple of weeks. Very friendly and accomodating. A little tricky to find - would recommend getting directions to the front door and inside since In Rome shares the building with other tenants. Great value!

Don't expect a 4 star hotel but for welcome and value for money it was excellent. Had a triple room, quaint, clean with lovely high ceiling. Ensuite shower room complete with good hairdryer and small range of toiletries. The continental breakfast had a choice and was more than adequate, kept us going until lunchtime. Situated only a 10 minute walk from the Colosseum and some good pasta/pizza restaurants where we sat outside in the evening enjoying tasty food and watching the world go by. I would certainly use In Rome B&B again

we really loved the hotel, especially considering the price 55eur/night(stayed 3 nights in the beginnig of october)it's great for Rome, the metro and bus station right in front of the hotel, 10-15 min walk to Colosseumn, nice room and furniture, not to large but not to small, mini fridge and we liked the breakfast since everywhere we have been in Italy(Venice, Milan) they have the same thing for breakfast(bread,croissants,butter,jam,milk-even for a more expensive room), only this way you can eat it whenever you wake up, not only up to 10 am. Overall great hotel, the staff was very helpful, and would stay here again when visiting Rome

It was the first time I stayed at this hotel. I am very pleased from the cleanliness of room and the hospitality of the receptionist. The only disadvantage is the location which is far from most tourist attractions except colosseo. Metro station is just out of the door but metro closes at 9 pm and it has very few stations in the city center. Overall I would recommend this hotel because it's good value for money.

It has been a nice stay. Very close to metro station and other means of public transport, like bus and tram, as well as night bus (notturna), which is very convenient if you want to go out for a drink at night. We weren't welcomed at all. The staff that cleaned the rooms and was of overall supervision of the stay wouldn't speak english. Only once the owner appeared in order to get paid. Despite all these the whole stay was nice and I would recommend this bed and breakfast especially to young couples.

We were on family 4 days trip in Rome. Pension In Rome is great. Small (only 4 rooms), quiet, very clean… Johnny speaks English very well and he can recommend and help us with every trip all around Rome, even if it needs phone calling somewhere - he does it very kindly. Breakfast is Italian - so is only sweet, but is not pure - staff does really not spare on us. And location is very important - right near underground station. Great, I can only recommend this pension.

This B&B in Rome is just at the doorsteps of the metro station Mezoni so it was really easy to find. Can even walk to the Termini station if I dont have a big backpack. Rooms are clean, Mrs Wilma the housemaker was really thorough in keeping her 4 rooms neat and tidy. There is a mini bar and toaster in the room for our usage and an expresso machine to make our coffee everyday.

Were staying in this hotel at the middle of September 2010 for 4 days and have got very good impressions of this! First i would like to thanks Johny and Vilma for thier hospitality and amicableness!!! And now a few words about the hotel. It situated in 15 min by walk from Colloseum and close to the metro station Manzoni. There are shops and supermarket close too. Inside you can find clean and neat rooms not very big but not small, sufficiently light, provided with all nessesary facilities even with refregerator and teapot! Tasty light breakfast is there as well. Free wi-fi is provided and also you can use 2 computer in the hall. For me this hotel equiped with all nessesary for staying there and the price corresponds the quality. If i ever visit Rome again i will choose this hotel and will advise it to my friends!

Just as stated, rooms are large enough for 2 people too not step on each others toes! Forget Breakfast, its not an Italian thing! Take the juice and milk with you and have a panino. Very clean rooms, GREAT connection with Metro and Buses right in front of apartment, BUT you don't hear any of the traffic. Only BAD thing was, that we had to wait for 45 min. for someone to let us in our room!!! Our welcome was really pleasant, and it looks exactly like the pictures. The location is central and you have a metro, bus and tram at the front door. The room windows are 'newly' isolated so it's very quiet and the rooms are very clean and fresh. The people that run the B&B give you directly some touristic advice or any other advice you want. They provide you with their number and are always available. There is also internet. Breakfast is okay, with water, juice, milk, croissants, cake and toast. Us dutch would like to have a less sweet breakfast, but this is italian style : ). Special thanks go out to Massimo and Johnny from Razi and Simone

One of the things that stands out most is the fact that, despite the fact that they don't usually provide laundry services, when we asked, they told us that all of the laundromats were closed and insisted that they do it. The next morning, all of our clothes were freshly washed and pressed, for no extra charge. The hotel itself is a bit outside of the historical center of Rome, but it's a 10-minute walk from the Colosseum, right down the block is a Metro station, and there are two bus stops - one across the street and one around the corner, so it's not hard to get into central Rome.

Having said all that, John was bilingual, spoke English very well, recommended a great place to eat, had the best chocolate cheese cake I've every had! Plenty of food in room, including bottled water. Staff was wonderful, even did our laundry for us. Helped us with our train connections, bus, maps, under ground train - John thanks a lot. She made us feel at home and offered much assistance. We would undoubtedly return there. I have been to Rome six times. See all the major sights. Also, for the first time I visited San Clemente. This church is built on a prior church from the year 400 and that upon a pagan temple from 200 BC. All are excavated and you can roam thru them. The site I most enjoy is outside the city. Visit Ostia Antica, the port city of ancient Rome. You can roam here the entire day--Bring lunch, water and wine--you will love it. Any guide book will explain how to reach this city. Rooms are exactly as advertised. Very clean & neat. Pictures online are very accurate. The staff, Johnny & Vilma, were very helpful in locating sites & advising us on transportation. The best thing about In Rome B&B is the location in conjunction to the Metro & Sites. The Metro stop is literally outside the front door. ALL sites in the city are easily accessed via the metro(subway). Also Colosseum & Forum are approx. a 10-15min. walk from "In Rome B&B". San Clemente Baslica is on the way. About 5 mins. from "In Rome B&B". San Clemente is a must see! Very cool! One of the most impressive, little know, sites in Rome. "In Rome B&B" is located in downtown, so you get the feel of what it is actually like to live "In Rome". Although the B&B is in the heart of Rome we felt very safe. You had to go thru 3 keyed doors to get to your room. Also felt safe walking to local stores & cafes. Just to let you know this is a B&B. So, don't expected a valet service. The taxi driver will probably drop you off on the sidewalk, then you'll need to "buzz in" to get thru the front door. Or if you pack light you could take the metro. The Manzoni Metro stop takes you right to the B&B.(I highly recommend packing light. It will make getting around easier &/or cheaper. Taxi drivers will often charge a small luggage fee.) ALSO they offer a laundry service at the B&B so you can wash clothes if you do pack light! Overall this was an excellent stay & would stay there agian. I highly recommend it! You can't ask for a better location for the price! Also, Johnny speaks perfect English. This is very helpful in coordinating things for all you Brits & Americans! He was very helpful in arranging a taxi pick up to & from the airport. Thanks Johnny!

My husband and I loved our stay at the In Rome Bed & Breakfast. The proprietors, John and Chiara , were so nice and friendly and they made sure things went smoothly(and Vilma, the woman who cleaned the rooms, was incredibly nice and helpful). Our bed was big (two twins together) and our bathroom had everything you might need. The breakfasts were great--they were left in your room when it was cleaned daily. In each room, there is a toaster and a pitcher to heat water, and they leave an assortment of breads, sweets, and teas. Yummy! Also, the B&B is right next to the Manzoni metro stop. Incredibly convenient. The entrance from the street doesn't look like much, but just buzz, and they will let you in. The common hallway is beautiful. All the restaurants Chiara suggested were wonderful. We have already recommended this B&B to friends.
