Bed and Breakfast Walk in Center Rome - Rome

Location of apartment is very good. Close to the Vatican and the metro station. Near markets and restaurants. Rita and Luca are very friendly and helpful. We had a great vacation in Rome. We will advise this apartment to friends.

Except for its location (next to the vatican) there is very little that can be recommended about this place. The old lady that takes care of the place speaks nothing other than italian. The place (both room and the bathrooms) were filthy.

Would NOT stay here again!! The floors were so nasty they turned our white socks black!! The kitchen was filthy so we wouldn't use it. There was old food in the fridge and cupboards. Mold in the bathroom. The whole place had a musty smell. Screaming kid next door and the tenant below threatened to call the police on us and it wasn't my children making noise!! The apartment is spacious and the location is great but I would never, never, never stay here again.

Location just next to Vatican museum and 6 minutes from Piazza St. Petro is the great advantage of this place, we did not have to calculate how to get back, navigation was absolutely no problem. Behind the corner 20m was pizzeria with fantastic pizza and very friendly stuff, we enjoyed

Been to Rome many times and this was the most convenient location I've ever stayed in...walking distance to EVERYTHING--Vatican, Metro, Shopping, convenience stores, etc. Our favorite cafe is right around the corner about halfway between the Center and the Sistine Chapel entrance called LUX JEM CAFE on Via Leone IV with wonderful service...Excellent food and beverages and the ONLY place that served ice with our drinks in the summer!!!!

The welcomming was super. We recieved al lot information about Rome. The room was good (despite the TV and some lamps did not worked. The kitchen was verry small and needed a full clean - up and after 3 days there was no more toiletpaper. Result: we slept well, had a nice bad and shower and we had a great time in Rome but for that price it can be beter.

The break frist was poor!

Breakfast reminded me Antarctica (mostly unlimited shelf life food), everything other was excellent: quiet room, 3 minute walk to Vatican, great fish restaurant nextdoor. Warning: ask for the room with windows to the yard, those facing the street may be noisy and smelly (huge market hall just opposite).

Location excellent. Very near to Vatican. Easy to get to via trains. Luca (Supervisor) was excellent. Very helpful and did all he could to assist us. Public areas a little tired. Some utensils need updating (eg Metal Cutlery: plastics not good enough, bread knife & new kettle.)

Some works should be done, particularly in the bathroom (lack of pression for the water). The kitchen could be better equipped. Very convenient, the market facing the building.

The only advantage of this B&B is location. Via Tunisi takes you right to the entrance of Vatican museums (about 300 meters). It is also easy to get to St. Peters cathedral early in the morning (opens at 7 a.m.) before crowd of tourists comes from other locations. It is also very close to the metro - 5-7 minutes walk. There is a grocery store on the ground floor of the same building and there are several cafes close by. There is an open food market right at the corner, but we did not buy anything there as it closed before we returned to B&B. This B&B is a four rooms apartment. There is a couple with 4 months old baby who live in one of the rooms there. Christian, the guy who lives there with a family was really friendly and helped with mapping the things, but spoke no English. The other three rooms are used as B&B. The room we had did not look like the one on the web site. The bathroom, shared by all three rooms of B&B guests is close to the room where family with the baby live. I personally felt very uncomfortable when we came late and use the bathroom having in mind sleeping baby next to it. There are also rules posted on the entrance door that say you are supposed to be quiet from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. and during siesta time. Since the only thing we did at B&B was sleeping there was no problem for us, but this is not the place for a loud company. The biggest disappointment was breakfast. When we arrived, we were shown the table with a cattle and some packed food there. Christian told us they have self-service breakfast. The first day it was OK as we had some coffee and pastries. On the second day there was nothing except for bread and jam, they were out of coffee. We chose to buy some stuff at the grocery store ourselves. The only time food supply was renewed in our 5 days stay was when somebody new arrived. So, do not count on breakfast there. We had an overall OK experience but I would not recommend this place to my friends.

The room was excellent better than we expected. The location was even better, just 2 blocks from Musei Vaticani. Both Luca and Cristian were very helpful with directions and suggestions on sight seeing. We plan to stay there again in October 2008.
