If you are looking at staying with a very genuine Italian Nonna then this is the place for you. Stella is warm and generous and unlike some Rome B&B's she lives here and is always on hand to help. She does not speak a lot of English but we managed to communicate just fine. I met lots of members of her family as well. She gave me a map of Rome and circled places to go. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spotless and full of family stuff. This is not a sterile hotel experience! The street can be noisy at night. There is a local street market at the end of the street every day, for a little local colour and you are so close to everything you can walk everywhere if you really want to. Stella's House won't suit those looking for luxury but I had a great stay.

October 2012. Staying with Stella was like visiting an Italian auntie in her spare bedroom -- we managed with our few words of Italian and her limited English to have happy communication. Close to Termini in an area with morning marketplace, restaurants, and yes, X-rated movie place next door (didn't notice any excessive noise or unpleasant characters.) This is NOT luxury accomodations, but friendly and funky and good value.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It felt as though we were guests in a room in their home. Though the apartment was located above an adult movie theatre, the neighborhood was fine and seemed safe. If you don't mind a little bit funky you can't beat the price-- 65 euros for a double room near the train station!

Stella's house is a very nice place to stay. Although one may feel a little uneasy because of the owner's staying all day & night at the hotel and counting the minutes you're spending in the bathroom :) Otherwise, the place is highly recommended

It was my first time in Rome, and I didn't like it very much. It's a pity that a city so rich in history is so dirty and abandoned in some places. The Italian people are not so kind. The hotel is a house, and the big breakfast is served by Stella, a typical Italian woman, owner of the house, she is really nice. The breakfast is quite varied.

I love Stella's House. A mother and her daughter owned the b&b and they were both incredibly sweet and welcoming. Breakfast is a traditional Italian breakfast, coffee and croissants. The room was a good size and for a great price. I stayed the night alone and got a full sized bed in my own room for not much more than I would have spent at a hostel with 8 beds. Location is great as it's a 10 minute walk to Termini station, which is also where the 2 metro lines stop. It's 10 minutes from the Trevi fountain. The only thing I didn't like was that it was very noisy at night because it's on a busy street, but I'm sure most places in Rome will be like that. And yes, there is a no limits place across the street, but I went back to my room at 930pm and it had not even opened yet. It's a nice area other than that. Thank you for a great weekend!

My husband and I had a great time at Sella's house. The B&B has a great location which allowed us to walk all over the city. Stella is sweet and helpful. She gave us a map and told us all the good places to go. She even told us what buses to take. It was like staying with your grandmother or auntie. I would recommend it to anyone.

Stella's house has an excellent location!!!! You are walking distance from the main train station. Stella is friendly and even though she speaks very little English, we could understand her. We prefered to get our own breakfast. If you go to Rome to explore and want a simple clean place to sleep at, Stella'a house is perfect!

GREAT place to stay! There are two properties belonging to Stella's B&B', both on the same street a few blocks away from each other. We stayed at the south property where Luciana and her family live. She was very pleasant, helpful and accommodating - a terrific host! Her kids are cute and full of energy, but they never interrupted us, so don't be deterred by the presence of kids. They are a wonderful family! We did find that we tried to not make much noise, but thats probably the Canadians in us that didn't want to behave like aholes in somebody's house. The price for that part of Rome is just fine, the facilities are good and Luciana didn't ask for a key deposit, thus allowing us to check out at 5:30 am to get to our flight without waking anybody up. I would definitely stay there again. P.S. Breakfast included croissants, jam, coffee, OJ and a pack of biscuits.

We did not stayed at address stated on the website. As we were told they overbooked, we were taken to Stella's daughter place which was in the same street closer to the Roma Termini Station. We were told there's free wi-fi. However she could not provide the security code/password for the wi-fi. There is no TV. As the result, we feel isolated from any news. Overall, the location is very handy to see Rome. Stella's daughter is friendly and helpful.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and we thought that it was a really great value. Our room was large, simply furnished and clean. Stella and her Daugher were very friendly and very helpful with directions and other tourist info. The breakfast is basic (coffee, juice, and some biscuits) but it was good. Another great thing about Stella's House is that it is only about a 5 min walk to the train station.

Friendly landlady - a real Italian "Mama" - and both Stella and her daughter were very helpfull. We liked it very much, it is not luxury - if you want that you should find at 5 star hotel ;-) At Stella's House we met other travellers who were very nice. It is very close to Station Termine and the metro Castro Pretoria, and in the next street you find busses that can take you to St. Peter's Bacilica among other places.

We felt at home there! Mrs. Stella is a great person, helpfull and very kind. The same for her daughter. And at the morning, the cute Pedro always receives us with a big smile! Mrs. Stella explained everything about the city, with great tips, and gave us total liberty at her B&B. The only problem was the "water pump system" making a lot of noise during all night.

If you think of staying in Stella's house as in a hotel - better go to another place. The staying conditions are not very good. But you'd be pleased to go there if you wish to surround yourself with local athmospphere, feel youself as a far relative of Stella - feel the life of a common italian family I guess it's the best idea. As for me, I liked it. It's like being a guest in a house. (although the price for being a guest might seem high).

Stella's house has the feel of just that- that you are invited to stay someones home. Friendly and family run, clean and very helpful, as language differences allowed:)Cost not much more than a dorm room bed in Rome hostels and Sooo much nicer and local feeling. Easy walking distance from Train Stazione Termini. A little tricky to find the first time, but locals seemed to know the B&Bs and with our basic Italian we could still find our way! I can also Highly Recommend the African Restaurant nearby for good price great meal!

Very strange place. Is not a B&B is just a family house. They had more rooms so they rent them out. The breakfast is not a breakfast, just tea OR coffee and cookies OR supermarket croissant. We had to stay under Stella's decisions, we couldn't have breakfast becouse she was renovating the terrace, we had to listen all their family discussions...very bad! NON ANDATE!

Yes, it's just a family house. That's no bad thing though. I got a good welcome with a map and advice on things to see. My room was clean and the bed was made every day. I was asked if I needed towels. One bathroom is big and includes the washing machine etc., the other is on the narrow side but perfectly usable, it could do with some hooks or a chair to put your clothes on though. The breakfast is usual for Rome croissants & coffee. I stayed in May and didn't see any other guests so the bathrooms were not crowded for me. It is not very far from the Termini.

Stella's House is just that, Stella's family's house. It really isn't much of a B&B. The extended family all lives in the house and the 2 bathrooms can get very busy. One bath was obviously added, but it is truly the width of a closet, only as wide as a small shower. The location worked for us as we had stayed in the neighborhood before. The breakfast is a packaged roll and coffee, maybe cold coffee.

NO VAYAS AQUI!!!!

Nice owner. But I think, I paid too much money for what I've got there: breakfast was only crossaint/biscuit (plus jam) from supermarket. All was self service = I prepared the breakfast and tidied the table myself...OK, I tried to be nice to the owner. No towels. The refuse bin in the room wasn't emptied. Broken glass slice on the night tables. I could hear the loud discussion(?) between family members. I think, I was in the youth hostel, not B&B. A second time to stay in this place? NO WAY!!!

A positive note was the friendliness of the family. For the price, we expected basic accomodation. This is what we got. What we did not expect was the poor cleanliness of the bathrooms. Example was walking into a smelly bathroom due to a bowl of dirty socks ready for washing. Our bedroom window did not shut correctly and the noise was loud and constant for most of the night. There was no breakfast room and we shared a table with the landlady. Location was close to the Termini and easy walking distance to centre of Rome.

Location was decent, and the neighborhood was ok too, but this was one of the most uncomfortable and disappointing places I've stayed in. The public space was not only shared by all the guests but also by the family who lived there and rented out the rooms. The kitchen was tiny, and the breakfast consisted of a choice of one drink and a plastic-wrapped industrially-produced croissant, with jam. Not only was it not a warm friendly environment to start the day, but we had to complete our first meal every morning once we left. The other and perhaps even more frustrating part of our stay, were the bathrooms. Of the 2 bathrooms that were available (again, the ones that all guests plus the family shared), only one had a somewhat presentable shower. Only problem, since about 10-15 people needed to use this shower every day, there was NO HOT WATER!!! How do you provide accommodations in this day and age, that you claim to be a bed and breakfast, where you make your guests take cold showers!? Not only that, but we usually had to wait 30-45 minutes before the bathroom was free, just to take our cold shower. I don't recommend this accommodation, unless it's just one night or something, or you don't shower or eat breakfast!

The B & B is close to the train station and Metro. It is an older building with shared bathroom but for the price it was good. I have been to rome about 10 times and live in Sardinia. The only issue about Stellas is that there is xxxx adult movie business next to the place and a Sexy Disco (anything goes) across the street. The trash collectors come around 2 am and are fairly noisy, and there isn't any airconditioning or fans, so you have to keep the windows open at night. Our room was just close to outdoor, and people was going and coming all the time.. The window of our room was straight to the Stella´s familys´s balcony, not nice.. People were sitting, talking and smoking in front of our window. I think we had the worst room in Stella´s house, the other one´s didn´t have this kind of problem. Overall, it wasn´t so nice to be there.

Stellas House is quite central in Rome, you only need 5 min to Roma Termini where most of the busses start. The rooms are clean and the family is friendly. For breakfast you should not expect more than an ITALIAN BRAEKFAST> Stella makes a really good italian coffee for you and offers cornetti| croissants and biscotti with butter and marmelade. We were very satisfied with our stay at her house> its not luxurious, but you get a light insight into italian life and style.

It was real terrible because of buggy room. All our impressions about Roma it's the buggs which bites us when we were sleeping.Thank you Stella for our "wonderful" days in Roma.

Room small and a bit old-fashioned, but ok, if you are in the city all day. Washing facilities bit old, but always clean. The breakfast was very poor, even for Italy. The owner speaks good English and is very friendly and helpful if any problems occur, but not always present. Other employees speak only Italian. Location: Quite central, 6-8 min by foot from Stazione Termini. Overall a good choice if you want to see really much of the city centre.

On arrival was turned away, eventually offered accommodation. The room was dirty. Breakfast was offered on the first day-a coffe. Cost money to eat out for breakfast. Price of accommodation over priced, comparied prices with other B AND B, and could have had better. Area was unsafe for single women and at times quite frightening, and I'm a regular traveller, having at least four holidays a year, to places over World. Rome is a beautiful place, and I would return but not to Stella 's B and B. Would not recommend this B and B to anyone.

Average services compensated by nice family. Situated near the centre, with good transportation. But the breakfast was very poor - same biscuits and marmelade every day. We had to change room in the middle of the holiday. There was no space in the cupboards to put in the clothes and the dustbin was not emptied during the week. The rooms are quite noisy. On the other hand, it was great to meet such a nice, typical Italian family, which made our stay pleasant.

BEd bugs, bed bugs, bed bugs! in Rome, in Stellas! After awaking with bites all over our bodies we approached Stella (landlady) and she at first denied it, then said she would spray but no apology let alone mention of discount. The mattress was torn, and bed itself a rife breeding ground for bugs. The toilet was cramped into the narrowest bathroom ever, that it was impossible to sit straight without knocking your kness against the wall. Breakfast was luke warm coffee with a cheap biscuit. There was no mention that Stella is next doot to the SEx cinema and opposite the "No limits" strip club which for families would not be appropriate as well as the ensuing high noise levels at night. I am astounded that Venere with its fantastic website wihes to be associated with and promotes Stella and am afraid I would now be weary of other accommodation listed on Venere. Please try and keep up standards. My advice: Rather sleep rough at Termini than stay at Stellas.

The breakfast in stella's house was bad. Just a cup of coffee and rusk (Zwieback)with marmelade. Would be nice to find toast or bread instead of rusk (also an egg maybe). The price was to high when you see the breakfast. We had the biggest room in Stella's house (this room is nice), the other room (especially the smallest one) would be too expensive for the price (bad room !!!).

Very simple place, but clean and perfectly all right if you want to stay in Rome for a couple of days. You will have to use public transportation in order to get to most of the sights, but Central station is nearby and you can take the subway and a large number of buses there.

If you are not very commanding, it's a nice place to stay. The mistress of the house is a warm Napolitan woman, a little noisy but very cosy. Breakfast consists of some dry crackers with confiture, bread was neverserved. We bought it on our road. Blankets were never cleaned and bins never eptied. You had to spread your bed yoursef every day. The room was never claened. Toilets and bathrooms on the corridor were clean enough. The building had a very small old-fashioned lift and of course some stairs as well. The building is occupied by other inhabitants. The rooms seem to be the rooms of the family. The cupboards contained the clothes of the family. Very simple for a high price.

The place is not an independent property for the tourists, half of the property is occupied by the family. The family itself gets very loud any time of day or night making it impossible to steel a moment of peace. Two shared bathrooms (with upto 20 people queing up to use them.) can be a problem as well. Breakfast is BAD. No towels are provided, no change of sheets, no making bed or cleaning the room (we stayed 5 nights). There was usually a strange odor hanging in the air which we found to be quite repulsive, Generally we did not really look forward to returning to our room in the evening, despite the long and tiring (and ofcourse greatly enjoyable) days.

Suggestions: - in the house are 2 bathrooms. It would be better when the family used 1 and when they reserved the second for the guests. Now most time the family also was in both bathrooms. - on the webpage there was no indication about private bathroom or not. - the map on the webpage is good, the map sent by email after reservation was wrong. - it would be better when the houseowners gave some bread with the coffee in the morning, and when they would ask to choice for coffee or tea. - very gentile, clean and nice!
