In April we visited Sistine for the second time, after two years. We had the same room as before however with new paint on the walls and pictures. I had no problems with booking or communication - everything went smoothly. The place is not cheap but the rooms are nice and clean, the breakfasts delicious and location perfect - not many tourists, but still close to tourist atractions and full of nice local restaurants. We really loved the bistro on the corner of the building (to the left when you go out from sistine)! I can recommend it as a perfect place for lunch. I hope to be back there again.

The bedroom was well appointed but the bathroom was very small with no room to put toiletries etc and the shower tray filled with water. The traffic noise was constant so you were unable to sleep with windows open and the AC was functional but again very noisy. Breakfast trolley was good and Irene very pleasant and helpful.

The B&B is at a convenient quiet location within easy walking distance from Piazza Navona, the Vatican and an excellent shopping area with good restaurants. The room was very small but spotlessly clean and adequate for its purpose and price. The bed was a bit squeaky but comfortable. Excellent substantial breakfast served in the room. Irena was very helpful and friendly and made the best cappuccino. It would have been nice to have tea making facility in the room.

When we arrived there were no staff on site, but we rang the number on the doorbell & someone arrived within 10 minutes. The welcome was warm & friendly, Irene was on duty every morning. She was very friendly & brought our fantastic breakfast trolly at the time requested. There is so much on the trolly that you would be hard pushed to eat it all. We were in room 1 which is the corner room with widows on two streets, The room is very spacious, with a lovely high ceiling. The bathroom was quite large for an italian hotel, but the fittings etc could do with a bit of a makeover as too many things are held in place by bits of card and paper. We like the location in Prati, near the Vatican, as there are lots of neighbourhood shops & restaurants. Make sure you eat at La Pratolina. This is the most fantastic pizzeria, just across the road from the b & b on Via degli Scipioni. YOU MUST EAT HERE. You will not have had pizza like it & the sweets are to die for.

We spent 2 nights on this wonderful B&B. The location is perfect, very close to subway station (everything is accessible by subway) - and the neighborhood is very nice and safe. Irene received us - she is wonderful and prepares a nice breakfast. Bfast is fantastic and plentiful. Tip: Dinner at 3Q (2 blocks South from B&B.

Sistine is a beautiful apartment B&B. The breakfast is wonderful and substantial, and having access to the computer to plan our day was excellent. You also have access to many tour books. This B&B is walking distance to the Vatican and other attractions. Check in was very easy and the staff is very helpful and pleasant. We were able to book a car for our return to the airport, which was very affordable and more pleasant experience than a shuttle/taxi.

A great stay. We spent two weeks in Italy, and spent 3 nights at the Sistine to start off our trip. The room was clean, and the breakfast was the best we had in Italy. A computer was available for us to use (which was nice since we only brought an IPhone). The location is perfect, and is literally a few blocks away from the Vatican, and two blocks away from the Metro station. It is also walking distance to a number of restaurants near the river, which was a pleasant surprise. We would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Rome!

This is an excellent SMALL B&B. the staff could not be nicer. They were friendly, helpful and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. This is a very good location if you are a walker because you can get to teh good sites or transportation within 20-30 minutes without any problems. It is within 1 mile of the major sites.

The Sistine B&B was wonderful! I definitely will recommend a B&B for the value, cleanliness, or helpful staff. All communications were clear, timely, and responsive. The room was ready with beds separated for my mother and my arrival. You could eat off the floors, and the bathrooms and spaces were modern. For half the price of a hotel I have stayed in down the street, I got an expansive breakfast, free internet, and the wonderful and short interactions I like in a B&B. I would not recommend this for a family with children, unless the family took all three rooms. Irene made the difference! She greeted and explained the nuances of the property, made a unique breakfast (even soft boiled eggs) for us, and assisted in travel arrangements! A gem for the Sistine! I will be coming back in a month and staying there!

The beds were very comfortable and our hostess was very accomodating to serve us breakfast early on the day of departure so that we could catch an early train. The neighborhood and location were great. Our only recommendation for improvement would be better coffee! Also, I left a couple of items and contacted the Sistine within two days. Response was immediate - unfortunately the cleaning staff "threw away" the items. I would think that lost items could be held on to for at least a week before disposing of them. Overall, we were very impressed with the size and condition of the room and will consider returning to this B&B or another one run by Venere..

Lovely B&B very close to the Vatican and metro. The breakfast is probably the most special part of the stay at Sistine. You can choose what you would like from a card and hang it on your door the night before. The next morning a trolley of delicious pastries and your order of eggs is delivered at your choice of time. The room itself was small, but cozy. The bed was comfortable and there was a window with shades for a nice breeze. The bathroom was a nice size and very clean. We did have a small problem getting the keys. We had to wait nearly 30 minutes for someone to let us in and give us information. This was at 23:30 and we were very tired. It's can be quite difficult to find for the first time and our cab driver was unsure too. I suggest taking a cab if you are coming quite late like us, otherwise the metro is easy. Overall, we were pleased with our stay and would definitely stay again.

Staff was very accomodating and best of all, breakfast was wonderful! She prepared so much food that we were still full till mid-afternoon:)The room has a little balcony. The building has an elevator (although small), which is really great! There is a computer just outside the room with free internet access. The location was just minutes away to the nearest metro. The Vatican is just a walking distance. There's a couple of cofee shops and a store around the neighborhood. Overall, it's a cozy B&B place.

Our arrival and reception using the pre-ordered hired car was efficient albeit slow because of traffic. In contrast the local taxi to Ciampino, ordered by the helpful Irene, was far cheaper and much faster, possibly because of our early departure (07.30). Irene also provided an early breakfast. The two (relatively local) recommended restaurants were quite good value, particularly with 10% discount using the cards provided by Irene. The Pizza restaurant just round the corner (on Scipioni), however, was better (and better value).

Simply brilliant place. All the facilities of an expensive hotel and more without the huge prices. Great breakfast delivered to your door, beautiful big rooms and even a DVD library if you get a spare hour or two. Oh and there's free Internet and wifi, which I don't think they mentioned in the ad. Right next to the Vatican and within walking distance of everywhere. We loved it and will be going back if we ever return to Rome.

A wonderful find. As a frequent Rome traveler, I have tried various places including 4 star accommodations. Sistine beats them all. I love the location in a real Italian neighborhood away from the tourists, but only 5 minutes walk to the Vatican, Piazza di Risorgimento (bus hub), Metro stop Lepanto (2 minutes). I stayed in a superior (room #3) and the one regular room (#2)- the latter was the best deal. Size was a just little smaller, but bathroom bigger. There is another superior room (#1)that has the best view of Piazza di Quiriti and a decent bathroom. Superior room #3 has an odd quirk with the toilet against a wall bevel that does not allow full opening of the lid. The breakfast is incredible and wheeled to your room at the time of your choosing by the gracious and helpful Irene/Erine. You pick what you want on a card, hang it outside on the door, and she collects these in the am and prepares breakfast. Since this is a converted apartment without a common room, there is a little corridor that services all three rooms - here is a laptop with free internet. Another perk is that each room has a phone with free local calls - I don't recall the last time I found a place that didn't try and nickel and dime you to death with their phones (be very wary at some places - hidden charges can add up. Last year, near Vicenza, a property told us that I can call an Italian 800 number without fee. In the morning they tried - without success - to give me a charge more than the cost of the stay). In terms of noise, the windows have excellent glazing and sound proofing, but still some street noise can come through (Rome garbage trucks in the wee hours are common). There is a bit of corridor noise that leaks through the door if neighbors are a little loud. As always, I travel with ear plugs in case, but did not need them here. So, in summary, this place will be my future location of choice. It is close to everything, and is an excellent value.

I've been to Rome many times (usually annually), and this is the best place ever found. Even after staying at more luxury places such as Mecenate Grand Palace and Hotel Genio, B&B Sistine was perfect. Reasons: 1)Able to stay in Rome for 59 Euro close to everything. 2) Minutes from Metro stop (Lepanto). 3) About 7 minutes walk to the Vatican. 4) Neighborhood of real Italians, not tourists. B&B Sistine has 3 rooms - one regular and 2 superior. Superior room #3 has a small bathroom with an awkward and cramped toilet. Regular room #2 is a little smaller, but bigger and nicer bathroom. Superior room #1 is nice, with best views of Piazza di Quiriti and corners windows. However, value would dictate the regular room since there wasn't much difference in size, yet 59 vs 79 euro price. Breakfast was fantastic - you leave a doorknob card of your desired items, and the very nice Erina picks them up in the am and makes your breakfast, bringing them to you at a time of your choosing. Fantastic food, and enough so lunch could be skipped! Oh, and where do you find places that have a phone without charges for local and 800 calls? There was a laptop and internet connection in the corridor - perfect for catching up, getting tickets, etc. An yeah, that was free, too. Overall, an excellent find.

Check-in was easy and relaxed. Irene was friendly, helpful, polite and always happy and willing to do whatever she could to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was ample, fresh and served right in our room. Steet noise at night was a bit much and the noise from the small hallway could be heard easily. The room was a bit small but we did not go to Rome to stay in our room. Free internet was a big plus! Location was great for jumping on and off the Metro. Would recommend this B&B!

One of the reasons for staying in B&B's is the rapport that one can develop with the owners...usually they are there to answer questions, give you hints about the area, etc. Except for the person who let us in on the Saturday, who quickly gave us and keys and explained things but then had to run off to another property, the only person we saw at Sistine was the lady who served us breakfast. She was lovely, but her English was limited. We never saw the people who own the place and I even had to e-mail to find out to whom we should pay the bill. The lady who provided breakfast was only there until late morning, so for the rest of the time, we felt quite isolated. The computer is the hall is great to have. The breakfasts are outstanding.

We stayed at the Sistine B&B for 5 nights. Our flight was scheduled to arrive at 9.40PM so we emailed and an excellent private transfer (Euro45) was arranged and Emmanuel very kindly let us into the building and took us through the paces. You must email and let them know when you are expected to check in. Location wise it is perfect far from the madding crowd and yet close enough to the Rome sites and the Vatican. Lepanto station is only a short walk away and very convenient so really you do not need a cab/taxi service to get from airport to B&B. Breakfast at the Sistine B&B is that special service with Irena who wheels in a trolley with a real spread and because it is served in your room and not in a dining room, you can actaully have the whole spread for breakfast and lunch with no guilt. Ticking the boxes and hanging the breakfast card on your door before you retire to bed is such an excellent idea- you get breakfast when YOU want between 8 and 10AM. Irena even gave us early breakfast one day when we had to take a train on a day trip. Thank you Irena- she is such a willing and pleasant person. On our return we actually spent only Euro2.20 to get to airport. The 1 Euro ticket allows you one trip within 75 minutes from time of purchase so you can go all the way to the Anagnina station on the red line and from there, the airport shuttle bus costs 1.20 euro. The red line is air-conditioned and quick and the shuttle bus is on time and takes you to the front of the departures. If you are doing a bit of sightseeing and need to get to airport later then buy the 4Euros ticket- hop on hop off wherever you want that-the ticket lasts for the whole day. Excellent underground train service in Rome- there is a 3 day pass as well. When in Rome - never buy a drink at or near a tourist site, it is more than 100% expensive- it is about 250% more. There is nice shop just below Sistine B&B My suggestion is that Sistine B&B provide breakfast from 7.30 at least during Summer. It was

Basically happy with Sistine. We called them to assure them we were coming and would pay for unused nights due to delays because of unexpected business commitments in Bologna. When we arrived at appointed time, we had to wait outside for more than a half hour until someone arrived to let us in. once past that, everything was perfect -- including the Internet connection and air conditioning. Room was small but very nice, queen sized bed was nice and firm, breakfast was excellent and on time. Price to quality ratio was excellent

For our 2nd stay in Rome, we picked the perfect neighborhood. This is the place to be if you hire a scooter, run around the city all day, and want to come back to a peaceful, charming neighborhood. It's quiet and full of fantastic food and bars. It's not a "scene" neighborhood like many in the centro storico, but that's exactly where we like to stay. Even if you don't have a scooter, it's right next to a metro stop, and if it's not blazing hot, the walk is not bad. We were in a larger room, which was fantastic. The bathroom is a bit strange (toilet is shoved into the corner and the lid won't stay up!) but that's a small and insignificant annoyance, compared to the overall pleasantness of the place. It can be a bit frustrating to arrange the check-in properly, but unless you need to be coddled it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Also, as mentioned earlier, the WiFi wasn't working, which would only be problematic depending on your situation. Breakfast is incredible, and the service is extremely friendly and accommodating. Hopefully we'll be back!

The breakfast that the Best B&Bs offered were great. The surrounding area is a bit quiet and empty at night and a very expensive taxi ride from Ciampino airport. But great for accessing the Vatican, the river and the Metro. The person who greeted us when we arrived was welcoming and helpful with suggestions on the surrounding area but other people who worked there didn't seem to know the local area that well, so it would be useful if they had more access to general information such as the bus routes or how to get tickets for the buses etc. But this is only a slight aside and in general we found this a very nice place to stay.

Came back a week ago and we can not recommend the Sistine highly enough - great place to stay and very convenient for the vatican but also only a 15 min walk to piazza navona in the evening for dinner/drinks etc. We arrived an hour earlier than we had advised (very easy via terravision bus from ciampino and the metro up to Lepanto which is only a 5 min walk) and someone was already there to meet us. We had the standard room but only difference between that and the deluxe ones is the size of the room - no problem for us as we were not actually in the room that much. Very clean, lovely bathroom and comfy bed! Great to have the air conditioning and having the small fridge with drinks etc was really welcomed too - not over priced either as some hotels charge for drinks available in room.As everyone has said the breakfast is lovely and we liked the fact that we could chose when we had it - only moan would be that we like more than one cup of coffee to get us going in the morning so a cafetiere rather than individual cups would be good. We will definitely go back and are telling our friends about it - something lovely about staying in a more residential neighbourhood and it was in a beautiful building - felt safe too walking back at night.

Room was very clean, TV set was mini mini, which was a bit difficult to watch the late night match of the European football cup at that time. Breakfast was well prepared and extensive. Bath room was very small but all utilities were present : corner toilet (very unconfortable) and small corner shower which only produced ice cold water on the 2nd day of our stay and which unfortunately could not be repaired until the next day. Excellent location : within walking distance of all major visiting sites and 100 m from subway.

My husband and I stayed here and were very pleased. It would be best for independent travelers who want to save money by opting out of a traditional hotel setting. We walked to the Vatican and took a short metro trip to all the main attractions. I would definitely stay there again. The breakfast is amazing!!

Our flight was delayed but still there was a welcome when we arrived late at night. Breakfast was everything we expected - and more, a great start to the day! Whilst for a B&B this might appear expensive that's not the case when compared to other accommodation in Rome. We will be staying again, but will not be telling others about this place as we want to keep it to ourselves;).

O/a very satisfied. Reception good although there was no-one to meet us on arrival (we arrived exactly on time). However with help from the delightful owner of the delicatessen next door he made a phone call for us and a young lady arrived within 10 minutes. The room was on a 3rd floor corner - there is a charming lift, with dual aspects and not particularly busy or noisy. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable double, with a sofabed to lounge on after a hard days sightseeing. The room had a TV and DVD player (with a good selection of films available in the foyer - which also had a laptop for free internet use). The trolley breakfast without exaggeration was beyond expectation. Croissants, toast, cereal, eggs cooked how you like them, a selection of meats and cheeses, yoghurts, cakes, biscuits, fresh fruit inc. strawberries and melon, and pots of tea or coffee. All this was available from 8am and brought to the room by a charming young lady at the time you requested the night before by leaving a note outside your door. Needless to say lunch was not required. The location was excellent, 3 mins from Lepanto metro, 15 mins gentle stroll to the Vatican, and 20 mins to Piazza Nuovona. Good family restaurants in neighbourhood - where the locals eat at sensible prices. The Sistine B&B would suit all ages and is excellent value and from talking to other tourists during our stay we reckon we had the best deal in Rome.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days and really liked it. The room was very nice and clean, well done. The bathroom was very clean and very well done. The highlight was breakfast: very big and served in the room. There are 2 other rooms besides ours. It is very close to the Metro, vatcian and bus stop. The neighborhood is very nice with places to eat. The only issue we had was the welcoming. WE had to wait for an hour since the person was not around to welcome us and we had to wait and call him even when he knew that we were arriving. I would definitely recommend thi splace.

The Sistine was a cool, clean and pleasantly decorated oasis in the hustle and bustle of Rome. We chose this B&B based on tripadvisor reviews and we were very very pleased. The breakfast was SUPERB and we didn't need to eat lunch for the first 2 days.. really really pleased with the whole experience. Only downside is that it is quite a walk from the centre of the old town, but we got plenty of exercise!

Breakfasts were the best we had in Italy and Sicily. Although not fancy, the accomodations were appropriate and clean. Just what we needed while walking to all of Rome possible in three days. Will book again if we get the opportunity to return to Rome. Will also recommend to friends.

Located in a quiet neighborhood, 5 min walk to subway. lovely restaurants in the area. It was challenging connecting to the wireless itnernet but we eventually figured it out. The room and bathroom was extremely clean and well decorated. The safe in the room was also a plus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The breakfast spread was soooooo good!!! We loved breajfast!!!

The Sistine B&B proved to be an excellent choice for our Roman accommodation over the Christmas period. It was in an excellent location, easy to find (providing you already have a map!) in a great location away from the bustle and unpredictability surrounding Termini and in a largely residential area, close to excellent local amenities and the Vatican (20 min walk). The room was bright and constantly warm, tastefully decorated with all the facilities you could hope for. The breakfast was one of the most salubrious and delicious one could hope for considering the €75 a night we were paying for the room and exceeded our expectations, incorporating every food a traveller could hope for during their morning meal. One word of warning for people relying on a lift to the 2nd floor rooms - you need to climb a couple of steps to reach the 'ground' floor elevator - not really ideal maybe for those in a wheelchair. Other than that, the place was faultless. The housekeeper who visited our room every morning was pleasant and warm, the internet connection was slow but reliable and the lady who brought us into the building was very informative on what to see and do on our first visit to the city. We'd heartily recommend Sistine B&B to stay at whilst in Rome

Wonderful stay for 2 nights - wish it could have been longer, most helpful gentleman and his wife in the shop downstairs, extraordinary part of Rome, quiet but still only a few steps away from ancient parts and other worthwhile sights

From the very beginning till the very last end we didn't regret a single moment to have chosen B&B Sistine. Great location, super room (double superior), excellent breakfast, and very welcoming people. Just arrange the appointment with the owner, since he is not 24hrs at the B&B (they've 3 of them!).

Nice property with spacious, clean modern rooms. The in room breakfast was above expectations. The only problem still resides in checking-in, as stated in other comments. We arrived ontime only to find that we could not get in. The person that met us did not have the correct key. Apparently the lock was changed and he did not get the new copy, however this fault could have been avoided with better communication amongst staff. We sat in the stairwell for 20 minutes and then went downstairs to the cafe on the corner for an Expresso. All in all, check in took over an hour with some mild frustration. I would go back to Best BB again, but I would call them frequently to see if anyone is at the property.

Located in a delightful old building, very convenient to Vatican City and the Meto. Very clean and conformable beds, with a surberb breakfast, delivered to your room. We loved the personal touch of the use of there internet service, and the telephone card for long distance call.

The sistine was a wonderful welcome to Rome. Very quiet and yet convenient to all historical sites. Although in a delightfully old building, the room itself was completely modern with our very own laptop! In addition, a big breakfast served right in our room at the time we asked. Couldn't have asked for more!

Property is very accessible to the Vatican. A grocery store is located beside the property so you can easily purchase things you need like bottled water and juice. Irenea prepared very hearty breakfast and was very efficient in attending to our needs. Carlo was very helpful with providing tips in going around Rome. I would recommend Sistine and would return to stay next time we travel to Rome.

First, the only problem we had - the internet connection for the supplied laptop did not work. It was probably a simple problem, but we didn't know and neither did the staff available. Everything else - just great. The room was a room, not a suite, but had a table and 2 chairs, comfortable bed, spacious and well equipped bathroom, and the usual excellent quality bathroom and window fittings. There was some traffic during the night, not a lot, but the double glazing kept it silent inside when we wanted that. And yes, the breakfast is everything people have said. The location is easily walkable to the centre, and we (a middle aged couple) felt quite safe walking at night. Next door is one of those Roman bar/cafes we all love, and within a couple of blocks a variety of restaurants, an internet cafe and a VERY good ice cream shop.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Loved the breakfasts too. The B & B is well placed for public transport and there are a number of restaurants nearby. St Peters and the shops on Via Cola di Rienzo are within easy walking distance. Next door to the B & B is a marvellous grocery. If we are able to visit Rome again, we will be happy to stay at B & B Sistina.
